Qui un estratto dalle mie solite first impression!
Come sempre vi aspetto su www.serialfiller.org.

This time I think there will be many of you reading this article. Whether out of passion, curiosity, because you spend your nights playing video games, this time I'll catch you in many. I can feel it. And the credit goes to Halo. Yes, Halo. The video game. Here is an excerpt from my usual first impressions! If you are a gamer, old or new, young or old, you have certainly heard of "Halo". Probably you have played it. Perhaps you are avid players of this video game whose fame is absolutely planetary and incredibly unbreakable. Paramount, 2 years ago, had announced the serial transposition. The anticipation was sky-high. The fear of failure so much. The moment of judgment has arrived. The pilot is among us. Since a few days. The web is wild. It is not yet clear whether they liked it or not. It's a classic in these occasions. So trust someone serious, someone you trust, someone who has already made you discover a lot of important titles. Who would this mysterious guy be? What jokers... Read after the image to discover my fateful first impressions of Halo.
Here comes the premise! I've never played Halo. I don't know the context of it. I don't know its mythology. I know Halo as I would know anything that has been able to transcend the space in which it was born, lived and fed. It happens with those things, those titles, those people, those words, those places that become, thanks to success and distinctiveness, part of our culture, pop culture in this case. Halo is part, for some years, the mass culture because its success has forced us to know at least the name and at least that it is a video game that has joined tens of millions of people in battle, virtual but still battle. And here it is, even someone like me, one who has never played the game, knows the name, the "cover" and in brief what genre it is. I say this to warn you immediately about one thing. The success (or failure) of Halo, will be filtered regardless of the lens of those who have played the game for years and that the series expects loyalty and great things. And here I immediately shoot the very first observation. An object of this type must or must not be faithful to the original material? Taking liberties would be tantamount to a betrayal? Living its own life, perhaps freely inspired by the video game but continuously deviating from it, should be seen as a brave choice or a smart one? I, who never had the video game and do not know the story, can afford the luxury of judging the series in its success (or failure), but who, however, knows the story to the letter, can do the same? The authors tell us that they were inspired by the video game but then, between us, they will do a little what the hell they want, moved by their inspiration. And how do we deal with such a remark? Here the theme is serious, and in part we are already in it with all our shoes with Foundation and Asimov. Can you take well-known stuff and do whatever you want with it? Of course you can, as long as it is not a mere marketing operation, aimed at "using" that name, that brand to "grab" millions of users, attracted like bears by honey, even if only to have a distracted look at the transposition of their favorite videogame. From this point of view, then, Paramount has been smart, very smart and a little bit, even before starting, must have pissed off several people, including me that I videogame (as you may have guessed) I do not know him. Returning to the show, and the excellent pilot, you will understand that you can not throw away a pilot so. Lots of action, lots of epic, a good (but unfortunately not excellent) level of visual and digital effects, characters quite centered and a desire to continue to see it. I do not know what it left to video game lovers but to me it left a lot of desire to continue and, for a pilot, I think it is the most important thing. The story is set in the 2500s. There are humans, aliens, Spartans, marines, and lots of good people with big guns and a lot of desire to kill someone.
