Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org. Oggi è il turno di Unbelievable!
Quanto è difficile credere a qualcuno?
Quanta diffidenza può esserci verso una donna vittima di molestie, abusi o addirittura violenze?
Quanto traumatica può essere un'esperienza di violenza subita?
Dalle domande poste sopra potete immediatamente immaginare che se siete in cerca di un prodotto leggero non è qui che lo troverete. Il tema è forte. Le domande attuali. Le risposte, come sempre, mai nette. Una lettura, una prospettiva assolutamente non banale ce l'ha offerta qualche anno fa una serie Netflix che oggi ho ripescato dal cilindro per indurvi ad inserirla nella vostra watchlist prima che finisca nel dimenticatoio. Il rischio che corrono tutte queste ottime serie, poco mainstream e non del tutto assimilabili a capolavori, è di essere presto dimenticate. Proprio come le donne vittime di abusi.
Non è mai una impresa facile provare ad aggiungere elementi di interesse e novità rispetto a tutto quello che è stato in precedenza raccontato. visto o detto in televisione negli ultimi anni (e per televisione intendo ovviamente la tv che piace a noi ragazzi, quella dello streaming e della tv on demand). Non esiste oramai più alcun genere seriale che non sia stato già "cavalcato", storia o tema che non sia stato oggetto di rivisitazioni, riproposizioni, immaginazioni seriali in questi anni. Spesso provo a mettermi nei panni di un qualsivoglia nuovo autore o di una qualsiasi nuova produzione. Per loro deve essere sempre una piccola tragedia approcciarsi ad un nuovo show, alla stesura di un nuovo script. Quanto deve essere estremo per loro provare ad essere sempre e comunque ficcanti ed originali? Un buon prodotto, comunque la si voglia mettere, è sempre un buon prodotto. Quando ai nostri occhi capita di notarne uno, allora è sempre un dovere morale per noi serialfiller portarlo all'attenzione di tutti. E' il caso di Unbelievable, ottima serie tv Netflix che ha riscosso un discreto successo di pubblico e critica, pur restando, di fatto, sempre un prodotto abbastanza di retrovia, se non addirittura di nicchia. Al centro della storia vi è un caso di stupro (ed ora capite perchè ho voluto iniziare questo post con tutte quelle domande). Questo caso investigativo posto al centro della trama è un caso estremamente ricco di retroscena, retropensieri e sfumature. Esso, infatti, non è solo il caso di una teenager smarrita ed impietrica che prima denuncia, poi improvvisamente ritratta, poi torna nuovamente indietro sui suoi passi e poi decide di ritrattare ancora, vittima del suo- stesso trauma e, soprattutto, vittima di un sistema giuridico e squisitamente investigativo non sempre all'altezza e, soprattutto non sempre dalla parte delle vittime o presunte tali. Da li si dipaneranno una serie di azioni parallele a livello di indagine che porteranno le 2 detective ad effettuare delle sconcertanti scoperte che faranno emergere una vicenda che apparirà molto più devastante e molto più brutale di quanto fosse lecito attendersi all'inizio. Unbelievable è molto bella perchè sale di colpi sempre e comunque puntata dopo puntata grazie ad un eccellente sviluppo dei personaggi principali e non ed una costruzione della tensione sempre crescente, sia a livello narrativo e squisitamente psicologico che pur non emergendolacome un vero e proprio thriller riesce a trasportarci soavemente verso l'epilogo delle indagini sin li effettuate, senza regalarci mai colpi di scena spettacolari ma con riuscendo con enorme maestria, inducendoci sempre a pensare alla prossima mossa e alla prossima sorpresa.

How hard is it to believe someone?
How much distrust can there be towards a woman who is a victim of harassment, abuse or even violence?
How traumatic can an experience of violence you have endured be?
From the questions posed above you can immediately imagine that if you are looking for a light-hearted product this is not where you will find it. The theme is strong. The questions topical. The answers, as always, never straightforward. A reading, an absolutely non-trivial perspective was offered to us a few years ago by a Netflix series that today I have fished out of the hat to induce you to include it in your watchlist before it ends up in oblivion. The risk that all these excellent series run, not very mainstream and not entirely assimilated to masterpieces, is to be soon forgotten. Just like women victims of abuse.
It is never an easy task to try to add elements of interest and novelty compared to everything that has been previously told, seen or said on television in recent years (and by television I mean, of course, the TV that we kids like, that of streaming and TV on demand). There is no longer any serial genre that has not already been "ridden", story or theme that has not been the subject of reinterpretations, re-proposals, serial imaginations in recent years. I often try to put myself in the shoes of any new author or any new production. It must always be a small tragedy for them to approach a new show, to write a new script. How extreme does it have to be for them to always try to be sharp and original? A good product, however you want to put it, is always a good product. When we happen to notice one, then it is always a moral duty for us serialfillers to bring it to everyone's attention. This is the case of Unbelievable, a very good Netflix TV series that has had a good success with public and critics, even if it remains, in fact, always a product quite in the backyard, if not even a niche. At the center of the story there is a case of rape (and now you see why I wanted to start this post with all those questions). This investigative case placed at the center of the plot is a case extremely rich in background, afterthoughts and nuances. It, in fact, is not only the case of a teenager lost and impietrica that first denounces, then suddenly retracts, then back again on his feet and then decides to retract again, a victim of his own trauma and, above all, a victim of a legal system and exquisitely investigative not always up to the mark and, above all, not always on the side of the victims or presumed such. From there will unravel a series of parallel actions at the level of investigation that will bring the 2 detectives to make some disconcerting discoveries that will bring out a story that will appear much more devastating and much more brutal than it was expected at the beginning. Unbelievable rises constantly episode after episode thanks to an excellent writing of the characters and an ever-growing tension, narrative and psychological tension that while not making it look like a real thriller can still take us cautiously towards the epilogue of the investigation, without sensational twists but with great skill, always leading us to think about the next move and the next surprise. The best of himself gives it as said with the characters.
