Lo scorso 26 Aprile, con "Prisoner of War", è andato in onda il finale di serie di Homeland.

Accanto a lei si sono alternati partner, amanti, spie, nemici, ma Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) è rimasto saldamente al suo fianco.

Una strana figura paterna, sempre capace di salvare Carrie dai suoi stessi deliri ma anche sempre disposto ad usarla per portare a termine le missioni più delicate.

Carrie, anche a causa della sua bipolarità, non si è mai sottratta alle più incaute e pericolose manovre investigative e politiche, portando a casa numerosi successi, altrettante informazioni, ma anche un'enormità di conseguenze sulla propria vita privata.

Negli anni abbiamo assistito ad un ingiustificato abbandono da parte del pubblico, causato soprattutto dagli eventi occorsi nella terza e quarta stagione, molto criticate.

Con il senno di poi è importante dare atto che alcune delle scelte più osteggiate siano risultate scelte più coraggiose che dissennate, più armoniche di quanto si potesse immaginare allora.

Homeland è sempre stata la serie di Carrie e sulla sua evoluzione, ed è, anche , stata la serie che provava a raccontarci il mondo dietro le quinte, questo mondo impazzito post 11 settembre, troppo spesso diviso in elefentiache macchie di bianco e nero, di buono e cattivo.

Ha saputo, ha voluto, mostrarci il lato buono del male ed il lato cattivo del bene, confondendo le acque appositamente per tratteggiare quanto determinate situazioni siano talmente complesse da non poter essere banalizzate.

Spesso, Homeland ha anticipato i tempi, soprattutto nelle ultime 3 stagioni.

Molte notizie di politica internazionale occupavano le prime pagine dei giornali mesi dopo la messa in onda di un episodio o una stagione di Homeland che quegli eventi li aveva in qualche modo, pur nella fantasia che domina un prodotto di finzione, anticipati.

Pensiamo all'affaire Russia - Trump o all'ultima stagione che si apriva con una potenziale pace in Afghanistan, pace che sarebbe avvenuta, nel mondo reale, pochi mesi dopo.
