On a very special episode...? ci aveva lasciati con una deflagrante rivelazione sul futuro di Wanda, WandaVision ed in generale di tutto il Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A distanza di 7 giorni ci ritroviamo a Westview, curiosi e ansiosi di conoscere le conseguenze di quella scena finale. Quello che non sapevamo è che questo nuovo episodio, dal titolo All New Halloween Spooktacular, sarebbe stato, per l'economia della serie, ancora più determinante.
Se il precedente episodio aveva avuto un impatto molto più vasto, in termini di interessamento ed invasione di tutto l'universo Marvel, questo sesto episodio potrebbe essere molto più importante e devastante, sebbene molto più contenuto nei limiti, o forse dovremmo dire nelle barriere, della serie stessa.
Finora sono stato bravo e attento a non farvi spoiler ma, si sa, non posso promettervi di esserlo ancora, per cui, dopo l'immagine di Elizabeth Olsen vestita da diavoletto sokoviano (che immagino possa fare particolarmente "sangue" ai maschietti in ascolto) ci sarà qualche spoiler qui e là.
Questo episodio (che in altri casi e per altre serie avremmo potuto definire uno "speciale Halloween") ha il merito di scioccare tanto per quanto accaduto e tanto per quello che si pensa possa accadere di qui al termine.
Oltre agli infiniti easter eggs ai quali siamo oramai abituati, dai costumi di Wanda e Visione ad altri tanti riferimenti ai fumetti e agli Avengers, in questo episodio c'è tanta, tantissima sostanza.
Passiamo dalla possibile svolta per la trasformazione di Monica in Photon al disvelamento della verità per il povero Visione tanto per citarne 2.
Il passaggio dal mondo reale alla "bolla" creata da Wanda determina un cambiamento molecolare che potrebbe portare l'agente Rambeau ad acquisire superpoteri che i fan tout court dell'universo Marvel conosceranno.
Per Visione, invece, il boccone è ancora più amore.
Oltre a sentirsi infinitamente tradito dalla sua amata Wanda per avergi nascosto la verità su WestView, il nostro eroe dovrà confrontarsi con l'accettazione di una realtà nella quale lui semplicemente non dovrebbe più esistere.
In questo senso è magnifico il modo in cui prima realizza cosa stia accadendo, grazie all'incontro con Agnes ai confini di Westview, e successivamente il sacrificio, più o meno consapevole, di Visione quando prova ad uscire dalla bolla per cercare aiuto per gli altri personaggi intrappolati più che per sè stesso.
Le conseguenze sembrano essere devastanti e solo il prossimo episodio saprà dirci se, come e quanto Wanda sia riuscita davvero a scongiurare l'ennesima morte del suo amato.
Per quanto Wanda possa sembrare più marginale questo è, invece, l'episodio più importante rispetto a Scarlet Witch.
Per la prima volta, e fuor di fan theory, percepiamo quanto Wanda sia potenzialmente la vera villain di questa storia, seppur mossa da una disperazione fortissima per la dipartita del suo amato.
In questa puntata, infatti, ci viene rivelato palesemente quanto gli abitanti di Westview stiano drammaticamente provando a scappare da una condizione alla quale sono costretti da Wanda stessa che, con i suoi poteri, li vincola da una realtà nella quale si spogliano della loro umanità, del loro libero arbitrio, per divenire dei meri burattini nelle mani della burattinaia Wanda Maximoff.
E' una rivelazione potentissima che solo il tempo ci potrà confermare o smentire, virando verso soluzioni differenti da quella che in questo momento sembra occupare lo spazio più ampio sul tavolo.
Ma per Wanda non è stato solo un episodio cupo e nefasto ma anche molto criptico.
Da quando il Pietro Maximoff impersonato da Evan Peters ha fatto capolino nella serie, si è fatto un gran parlare dell'avvento del multiverso nel MCU.
E' una teoria molto accreditata e che affonda le basi in quanto vi avevo provato ad esplicare in questo post relativo allo scorso episodio.
Quella che sinora era una robusta teoria che attendeva elementi di conferma, è divenuta in questo episodio qualcosa di molto più solido.
Pietro e Wanda sembrano ricordare momenti legati alla loro infanzia ma con un piccolo particolare. Non sempre i loro racconti combaciano, anzi sembrerebbe che per Wanda alcuni momenti non siano mai accaduti. Semplice scherzo della memoria di una bambina o una reale assenza di quel particolare vissuto? Se fosse confermata la seconda ipotesi ci sarebbe solo una spiegazione: Wanda e il Pietro che vediamo nella serie sono personaggi di 2 universi diversi, con tutto ciò che ne conseguirebbe per la serie e per tutto il Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In definitiva, All New Hallowenn Spooktakular, oltre a regalarci le solite chicche (ma quanto è stata bella la sigla in formato "Malcolm"?!) metanarrative, è riuscito a farci piombare nel più cupo dei momenti per i nostri protagonisti, proiettandoci la parte conclusiva della serie molto meno speranzosi di un happy ending per Wanda e Visione ma rinvigorendo ulteriormente la nostra fiducia verso la serie, sempre più solida e convincente.

On a very special episode...? left us with a deflagrating revelation about the future of Wanda, WandaVision and in general of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Seven days later we find ourselves in Westview, curious and anxious to know the consequences of that final scene. What we didn't know is that this new episode, titled All New Halloween Spooktacular, would have been even more decisive for the economy of the series.
If the previous episode had a much broader impact, in terms of interest and invasion of the entire Marvel universe, this sixth episode could be much more important and devastating, although much more contained within the limits, or perhaps we should say the barriers, of the series itself.
So far I've been good and careful not to give you spoilers but, you know, I can't promise to be spoilers yet, so after the image of Elizabeth Olsen dressed as a Sokovian devil (which I imagine can make particularly "blood" to male listeners) there will be a few spoilers here and there.
This episode (which in other cases and for other series we could have called a "Halloween special") has the merit of shocking both for what happened and for what you think will happen from here to the end.
In addition to the endless easter eggs to which we are now accustomed, the costumes of Wanda and Vision to many other references to the comics and the Avengers, in this episode there is much, much substance.
We go from the possible turning point for the transformation of Monica in Photon to the unraveling of the truth for the poor Vision just to name 2.
The transition from the real world to the "bubble" created by Wanda determines a molecular change that could lead the agent Rambeau to acquire superpowers that fans of the Marvel universe will know.
For Vision, however, the bite is even more love.
In addition to feeling infinitely betrayed by his beloved Wanda for having hidden the truth about WestView, our hero will have to deal with the acceptance of a reality in which he simply should no longer exist.
In this sense it's wonderful the way he first realizes what is happening, thanks to the meeting with Agnes at the edge of Westview, and then the sacrifice, more or less conscious, of Vision when he tries to get out of the bubble to seek help for other trapped characters more than for himself.
The consequences seem to be devastating and only the next episode will tell us if, how and how much Wanda really managed to avert yet another death of her beloved.
As much as Wanda may seem more marginal this is, instead, the most important episode compared to Scarlet Witch.
For the first time, and out of fan theory, we perceive how Wanda is potentially the real villain of this story, even if moved by a strong despair for the departure of her beloved.
In this episode, in fact, it is clearly revealed to us how the inhabitants of Westview are dramatically trying to escape from a condition to which they are forced by Wanda herself who, with her powers, binds them from a reality in which they are stripped of their humanity, of their free will, to become mere puppets in the hands of the puppet master Wanda Maximoff.
It is a very powerful revelation that only time will be able to confirm or deny, veering towards different solutions from the one that at this moment seems to occupy the largest space on the table.
But for Wanda it was not only a dark and ominous episode but also a very cryptic one.
Ever since the Peter Maximoff impersonated by Evan Peters popped up in the series, there has been a lot of talk about the advent of the multiverse in the MCU.
It's a very credited theory and that has its basis in what I tried to explain in this post about the last episode.
What until now was a strong theory that was waiting for elements of confirmation, has become in this episode something much more solid.
Pietro and Wanda seem to remember moments from their childhood but with a small detail. Their stories don't always match up, in fact it would seem that for Wanda some moments never happened. A simple joke of a child's memory or a real absence of that particular experience? If the second hypothesis were confirmed, there would be only one explanation: Wanda and the Peter we see in the series are characters from 2 different universes, with all that would follow for the series and for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ultimately, All New Hallowenn Spooktakular, in addition to giving us the usual goodies (but how beautiful was the theme song in the format of "Malcolm"?!) metanarrative, managed to make us plunge into the darkest of moments for our protagonists, projecting the final part of the series much less hopeful of a happy ending for Wanda and Vision but further invigorating our confidence in the series, more and more solid Follow me

En un episodio muy especial... nos dejó una revelación deflagrante sobre el futuro de Wanda, WandaVision y en general de todo el Universo Cinematográfico Marvel.
Después de 7 días nos encontramos en Westview, curiosos y ansiosos por conocer las consecuencias de esa escena final. Lo que no sabíamos es que este nuevo episodio, titulado All New Halloween Spooktacular, sería, para la economía de la serie, aún más crucial.
Si el episodio anterior tuvo un impacto mucho más amplio, en cuanto a afectar e invadir todo el universo Marvel, este sexto episodio podría ser mucho más importante y devastador, aunque mucho más contenido dentro de los límites, o quizás deberíamos decir las barreras, de la propia serie.
Hasta ahora me he portado bien y he tenido cuidado de no daros spoilers pero, ya sabéis, no puedo prometer que sea spoiler todavía, así que, después de la imagen de Elizabeth Olsen vestida de demonio sokoviano (que imagino que puede hacer especialmente "sangre" a los espectadores masculinos) habrá algún que otro spoiler aquí y allá.
Este episodio (que en otros casos y para otras series podríamos haber llamado "especial de Halloween") tiene el mérito de impactar tanto por lo que ha pasado como por lo que creemos que pasará de aquí al final.
Además de los interminables easter eggs a los que ya estamos acostumbrados, los trajes de Wanda y Visión a otras muchas referencias a los cómics y a los Vengadores, en este episodio hay mucha, mucha sustancia.
Pasamos del posible punto de inflexión para la transformación de Mónica en Fotón al desvelamiento de la verdad para la pobre Visión sólo por nombrar 2.
La transición del mundo real a la "burbuja" creada por Wanda determina un cambio molecular que podría llevar al agente Rambeau a adquirir superpoderes que los fans del universo Marvel conocerán.
Sin embargo, para Vision, la mordida es aún más amorosa.
Además de sentirse infinitamente traicionado por su amada Wanda por ocultarle la verdad sobre WestView, nuestro héroe tendrá que lidiar con la aceptación de una realidad en la que simplemente ya no debería existir.
En este sentido es maravillosa la forma en que primero se da cuenta de lo que está sucediendo, gracias al encuentro con Agnes en el límite de Westview, y luego el sacrificio, más o menos consciente, de Visión cuando intenta salir de la burbuja para buscar ayuda para los otros personajes atrapados más que para él mismo.
Las consecuencias parecen ser devastadoras y sólo el próximo episodio nos dirá si, cómo y cuánto ha conseguido realmente Wanda evitar una nueva muerte de su amado.
Por mucho que Wanda parezca más marginal este es, en cambio, el episodio más importante en comparación con Bruja Escarlata.
Por primera vez, y fuera de la teoría de los fans, percibimos cómo Wanda es potencialmente la verdadera villana de esta historia, aunque movida por una fuerte desesperación por la marcha de su amado.
En este episodio, de hecho, se revela claramente hasta qué punto los habitantes de Westview intentan dramáticamente escapar de una condición a la que son forzados por la propia Wanda que, con sus poderes, los ata a una realidad en la que son despojados de su humanidad, de su libre albedrío, para convertirse en meras marionetas en manos de Wanda Maximoff.
Es una revelación muy potente que sólo el tiempo podrá confirmar o desmentir, virando hacia soluciones diferentes de la que en este momento parece ocupar el mayor espacio en la mesa.
Pero para Wanda no sólo fue un episodio oscuro y ominoso, sino también muy críptico.
Desde que el Peter Maximoff encarnado por Evan Peters apareciera en la serie, se ha hablado mucho de la llegada del multiverso al MCU.
Es una teoría muy acreditada que tiene su base en lo que intenté explicar en este post sobre el último episodio.
Lo que hasta ahora era una teoría sólida que esperaba elementos de confirmación, se ha convertido en este episodio en algo mucho más sólido.
Pietro y Wanda parecen recordar momentos relacionados con su infancia pero con un pequeño detalle. Sus historias no siempre coinciden, es más, parece que para Wanda algunos momentos nunca sucedieron. ¿Un simple truco de la memoria infantil o una ausencia real de esa experiencia concreta? Si se confirma la segunda hipótesis sólo habría una explicación: Wanda y el Peter que vemos en la serie son personajes de 2 universos diferentes, con todo lo que ello conllevaría para la serie y para todo el Universo Cinematográfico Marvel.
En definitiva, All New Hallowenn Spooktakular, además de darnos las bondades habituales (¡¿pero qué bonito era el tema musical en el formato de "Malcolm"?!) de la metanarrativa, consiguió sumergirnos en los momentos más oscuros para nuestros protagonistas, proyectando la parte final de la serie mucho menos esperanzadora de un final feliz para Wanda y Visión pero reforzando aún más nuestra confianza en la serie, cada vez más sólida
