Il mandaloriano non indugia, non ha alcun tentennamento.
The Child è, adesso, per lui il bene più prezioso dell'universo. Per salvarlo, recuperarlo, proteggerlo da Moff Gideon e dall'impero, è disposto a tutto, a rinnegare tutto, cancellare tutto.
Non ci sarà armatura o elmo che tenga, non ci sarà precetto che tenga ma solo il fine.
E' un passaggio fondamentale e che arriva inaspettatamente ma senza generare una reale sorpresa.
A differenza del disvelamento del nome di Baby Yoda avvenuto in "The Jedi" grazie all'introduzione di Ahsoka Tano, lo svelamento del volto di Mando non regala quel brivido, quell'effetto wow che ci si poteva attendere.
Da un lato sapevamo benissimo quale fosse il suo volto sin dal primo episodio, fosse non altro per aver letto il nome di Pedro Pascal come interprete del personaggio che da il nome alla serie, dall'altro il lavoro svolto sul personaggio e sul suo sviluppo è stato talmente efficace da far risultare assolutamente naturale il sacrificio estremo compiuto da Din Djarin per provare a recuperare Grogu.
The Believer è un episodio esiziale per l'inquadramento psicologico e caratteriale di Mando ma è poco più di un eccellente filler per l'economia della serie. Il fotogramma, o forse dovremmo dire l'ologramma, finale sembra preannunciare uno scontro imminente, lo scontro finale che tutti aspettavamo, quello fra Moff Gideon e Mando.
Arriverà davvero?
La tavola sembra apparecchiata.
L'appetito è di quelli delle grandi occasioni, consapevoli che con o senza una grande abbuffata resteremo a digiuno di The Mandalorian fino all'approdo della terza stagione.

Unlike the unveiling of Baby Yoda's name that took place in "The Jedi" thanks to the introduction of Ahsoka Tano, the unveiling of Mando's face does not give that thrill, that wow effect that we could expect.
On the one hand, we knew very well what his face was since the first episode, if only for having read the name of Pedro Pascal as the interpreter of the character that gives the name to the series. On the other hand, the work done on the character and his development has been so effective that the extreme sacrifice made by Din Djarin to try to recover Grogu seems absolutely natural.
The Believer is a crucial episode for the psychological and character development of Mando but it's little more than an excellent filler for the economy of the series. The final frame, or maybe we should say the hologram, seems to foretell an imminent clash, the final clash we were all waiting for, the one between Moff Gideon and Mando.
Will it really come?
The table seems to be set.
The appetite is of those great occasions, knowing that with or without a big binge we will remain fasting of The Mandalorian until the arrival of the third season.
