Cosa non ha fatto il nostro Mandaloriano per salvare il suo amichetto verde!

Ha radunato amici, riscattato favori, sciolto i voti che lo legavano al Credo, spinto se stesso in territori inesplorati.

Tutte queste scelte, una più determinante dell'altra, lo hanno portato ad essere di fronte al compimento del suo destino, un destino che, vedremo, sarà ben più grande e importante di quel che lui potesse immaginare, quel che noi spettatori potessimo pensare.

L'episodio è densissimo, per alcuni troppo denso e troppo breve rispetto alla quantità di eventi rilevanti raccontati. Tutti ci aspettavamo un season finale roboante. Pochi si aspettavano un season finale cosi determinante e cosi vastamente fondamentale per l'universo Star Wars tutto.

The Rescue rappresenta da un lato la summa di tutto quello che abbiamo visto in questa indimenticabile stagione di The Mandalorian, e dall'altro un punto di non ritorno per tutta la serie e l'intera saga.

Fino a ieri The Mandalorian aveva incontrato solo tangenzialmente gli eventi della saga cinematografica, toccandoli ripetutamente, omaggiandone atmosfere, storie e personaggi, ma riuscendo sempre ad essere un passettino a lato di essa, mantenendo quella giusta distanza fra l'essere dentro totalmente e completamente indipendente.

Con questo episodio finale si rompono gli indugi e l'equilibrio si spezza definitivamente.

L'intera puntata è stata un condensato di azione e di magnificienza produttiva.

Dalle schermaglie nella galassia lontana lontana ai combattimenti corpo a corpo, fino alla devastante potenza dei Dark Troopers, tanto temibili per tutta la puntata quanto disarmati e impotenti nell'ultima sequenza di azione della stagione che per sempre rimarrà impressa nei nostri cuori oltre che nelle nostre menti.

Nel mezzo ci viene raccontata della leggenda della Darksaber, elemento che oggi forse ci lascia indifferenti visto le grandi rivelazioni del finale ma che di certo sarà il filo conduttore della stagione 3, con Bo Katan sicura protagonista di eventi futuri totalmente impredicibili allo stato attuale.

Ed è stata anche questa la forza di tutta la stagione, riuscire ad essere impredicibile nonostante la linearità e la coesione degli eventi narrati.

4 puntate fa avevamo in qualche modo avvertito che prima o poi uno Jedi sarebbe arrivato.

4 episodi dopo siamo rimasti completamente spiazzati dagli ultimi minuti della stagione.

Tutto al suo posto, perfettamente. Tutto assolutamente inatteso. Un paradosso perfetto che ci ha accompagnato costantemente e che in questo season finale è esploso in una potenza emotiva inarrivabile.

Azione, nerditudine, fan service mai fine a se stesso, grandissima regia, montaggio sonoro e visivo di livello cinematografico, ma soprattutto la forza e la capacità di riuscire ad emozionare, sino in fondo.

L'episodio settimanale di The Mandalorian è stato vissuto dagli appassionati come una dose di stupefacenti che mai ci hanno fatto male, ne all'anima e ne al fisico.

Ci hanno solo e soltanto emozionato e tenuto compagnia, ci hanno inebriato fino a metterci al tappeto in questo stupendo finale.

Da pelle d'oca.

Il Mandaloriano sopravvive, sconfigge il suo nemico, recupera il piccoletto ed è pronto a salutarlo, lasciarlo andare, renderlo libero, separarsi da lui affinchè compia il suo destino.

Grogu non parla ma comunica coi suoi occhi il desiderio che in quel momento lo pervade.

Prima di salutare il suo vecchio amico e seguire chi sapete voi per poter essere addestrato, Grogu vuole scrutare dietro quell'elmo, guardare negli occhi il suo amico di avventure, il suo salvatore e regalargli una piccola carezza.

What our Mandalorian didn't do to save his little green friend!

He gathered friends, redeemed favors, dissolved the vows that bound him to the Creed, pushed himself into uncharted territory.

All these choices, one more decisive than the other, have led him to be faced with the fulfillment of his destiny, a destiny that, we will see, will be far greater and more important than he could imagine, than we viewers could think.

The episode is very dense, for some too dense and too short compared to the amount of relevant events told. We all expected a bombastic season finale. Few expected a season finale so decisive and so vastly fundamental for the whole Star Wars universe.

The Rescue represents on one hand the sum of everything we have seen in this unforgettable season of The Mandalorian, and on the other hand a point of no return for the whole series and the entire saga.

Until yesterday, The Mandalorian had only tangentially met the events of the movie saga, touching them repeatedly, paying homage to atmospheres, stories and characters, but always managing to be a step to the side of it, keeping the right distance between being totally inside and completely independent.

With this final episode, the lingering is broken and the balance is definitely broken.

The entire episode was a condensation of action and production magnificence.

From the skirmishes in the galaxy far far away to the hand-to-hand combat, up to the devastating power of the Dark Troopers, as fearsome throughout the episode as they are unarmed and powerless in the last action sequence of the season that will forever remain etched in our hearts as well as in our minds.

In the middle we are told about the legend of the Darksaber, an element that today perhaps leaves us indifferent given the great revelations of the finale but that will certainly be the thread of season 3, with Bo Katan sure protagonist of future events totally unpredictable at the present time.

And this has been the strength of the whole season, being able to be unpredictable despite the linearity and cohesion of the events narrated.

4 episodes ago we somehow warned that sooner or later a Jedi would arrive.

4 episodes later we were completely taken aback by the last minutes of the season.

Everything in its place, perfectly. Everything absolutely unexpected. A perfect paradox that has accompanied us constantly and that in this season finale exploded in an unmatched emotional power.

Action, nerdiness, fan service never an end in itself, great direction, sound and visual editing of cinematic level, but above all the strength and ability to be able to excite, to the end.

The weekly episode of The Mandalorian has been experienced by fans as a dose of narcotics that never hurt us, neither the soul nor the body.

They only excited us and kept us company, they inebriated us until they knocked us out in this amazing finale.

Goosebumps.

The Mandalorian survives, defeats his enemy, recovers the little guy and is ready to say goodbye, let him go, set him free, separate from him so that he can fulfill his destiny.

Grogu does not speak, but with his eyes he communicates the desire that pervades him at that moment.

Before saying goodbye to his old friend and following who knows who to be trained, Grogu wants to peer behind that helmet, look into the eyes of his friend of adventures, his savior and give him a little caress.
