It's not easy to add to what has already been said or seen on TV in recent years. There is no genre that hasn't been ridden, story or theme that hasn't been touched in these years. For a new author or a new production it's really hard to be nosy and original. A good product is always a good product and when we happen to notice it is good to bring it to everyone's attention. This is the case of Unbelievable, a recent Netflix series that has been quite successful. At the center of the story a rape case, which we'll find out isn't the only case, of a young girl who first reports, then retracts, then goes back and then retracts again, victim of her trauma and of a legal and investigative system not always on the side of the victims or presumed victims. From there a series of parallel investigative actions will unravel that will lead to disconcerting discoveries that will bring to light a much bigger and much more brutal story than could have been expected at the beginning. Unbelievable is constantly going up in strokes episode after episode thanks to an excellent writing of the characters and a growing tension, narrative and psychological tension that even if it doesn't make it look like a real thriller is still able to lead us cautiously towards the epilogue of the investigation, without sensational twists but with great skill, always leading us to think about the next move and the next surprise. He gives the best of himself as told with the characters. Women broken and often victims twice. First their rapist, then the legal system. The introspection of these women, each with different characters and different reactions is the real strength, together with the humanity and determination of other women, this time detectives, intent on bringing the perpetrators of such cruelties to justice. A well done, textbook series that manages to bring to the screen to perfection not only the true story from which it draws inspiration but also the personal stories of the characters involved. It won't change the history of TV but it will certainly be able to strongly claim an important role in this 2019 serial.
Non è facile aggiungere qualcosa a quanto già raccontato. visto o detto in tv negli ultimi anni. Non c'è genere che non sia stato cavalcato, storia o tema che non sia stata toccata in questi anni. Per un nuovo autore o una nuova produzione è davvero difficile essere ficcanti ed originali. Un buon prodotto è sempre un buon prodotto e quando ci capita di notarlo è bene portarlo all'attenzione di tutti. E' il caso di Unbelievable, recente serie Netflix che ha riscosso un discreto successo. Al centro della storia un caso di stupro, che scopriremo non essere il solo caso, di una ragazzina che prima denuncia, poi ritratta, poi torna indietro e poi ritratta ancora, vittima del suo trauma e di un sistema giuridico e investigativo non sempre dalla parte delle vittime o presunte tali. Da li si dipaneranno una serie di azioni investigative parallele che porteranno a sconcertanti scoperte che porteranno alla luce una vicenda molto più grossa e molto più brutale di quanto ci si potesse attendere all'inizio. Unbelievable sale di colpi costantemente episodio dopo episodio grazie ad un'ottima scrittura dei personaggi ed una tensione sempre crescente, tensione narrativa e psicologica che pur non facendola sembrare un vero e proprio thriller riesce comunque a portarci cautamente verso l'epilogo delle indagini, senza colpi di scena clamorosi ma con grande maestria, inducendoci sempre a pensare alla prossima mossa e alla prossima sorpresa. Il meglio di se lo da come detto con i personaggi. Donne spezzate e spesso vittime 2 volte. Prima del loro stupratore, poi del sistema giuridico. L'introspezione di queste donne, ognuna con caratteri diversi e reazioni diverse è il vero punto di forza, assieme all'umanità e la determinazione di altre donne, questa volta detective, intente ad assicurare alla giustizia i colpevoli di tali efferatezze. Una serie fatta bene, da manuale che riesce a portare sullo schermo alla perfezione non solo la storia vera da cui trae spunto ma anche le vicende personali dei personaggi coinvolti. Non cambierà la storia della tv ma sicuramente potrà rivendicare con forza un ruolo importante in questo 2019 seriale.
