In the movie we first see our main hero, who is an elite Navy fighter pilot and a trainer and test pilot at the Top Gun Academy. On the other hand, a sixth generation fighter plane is undergoing testing at a secret airbase and the plane is about to be rejected for lack of successful testing. As a result, Maverick arrived at the airbase and successfully completed the Sixth Generation Aircraft project by taking the fighter jet's top speed to the Mark 10 and setting the record for the world's fastest pilot.
It is later revealed that Maverick prefers to work as a fighter pilot, giving up his two official promotions to fly fighter jets. As a result, the Rear Admiral rules him out and assigns Maverick a special mission at Top Gun Academy.
Maverick goes to Top Gun Academy and is assigned as a trainer and instructor of junior pilots to complete a secret and difficult mission. But Maverick says he wants to be the pilot of this mission and wants to make the mission successful. However, he was asked to prepare 12 pilots for the mission as a trainer.
Analyzing the secret mission shows that there is only a 1% chance of surviving the mission successfully. However, Maverick says that this impossible mission is possible and begins to prepare the pilots according to the plan. However, Maverick finds that Top Gun's 12 pilots lack team speed and that there is a considerable communication gap between them.
After realizing everything, Maverick meets his friend Iceman and tells him that even though the junior pilots can fly well, they are not ready for this terrible suicide mission.
