Walking to School(2009)

Review by @sheikhshaon · 1185d · of Walking to School

Hello movie lover friends, how are you all? Although the living system of all the people of the world has improved, we do not see any improvement in the life of the hill and tribal people. Like all people in the world, indigenous people have the right to food, clothing, shelter, quality of life and education. If we take a look, we can see that tribals always live in the hilly areas of a country and their standard of living, culture, language and way of life are different from other people.

We all know that the opportunity of education system, the opportunity of transportation system helps people's life to be easy, beautiful and modern. Although urban people have adequate facilities in terms of transport system and education system, there are no such facilities in the life of tribals in hilly areas. As a result, parents do not want to send their children to school due to the inaccessible and dangerous transportation system of the tribal people in the hilly areas.

Like everyone else's children, tribal children also want to make their lives better and easier through education, they also want to improve and enrich their lives through education. Today I watched such a wonderful movie, where two little brothers and sisters are interested in education and the sweet relationship between the two siblings, sacrifice for each other and their unconditional love can be seen. How a sister protects her brother from mother's rule and how much a brother loves his sister can be seen very well through the movie. Without further ado let us introduce you to today's interesting movie.

Movie Review:

In the beginning of the movie one can see a very charming tribal village in China and a real and true idea about the living system of the people in that village and their communication and education system. All of this is brought to life beautifully and realistically by the family of little Wawa and her sister Naxiang. As well as how much a brother can love his sister and how much a sister can sacrifice for her brother, the wicked sweet relationship between Wawa and her sister is a wonderful example.

Their family consists of parents, sick paralyzed grandmother, Wawa and her sister Naxiang. Their father works from the city, mother does housework as well as agricultural work and sister studies in school and 6-year-old Wawa wants to study but is yet to start due to financial problems. Although the main character of the movie did not get the chance to go to the little Wawa school, at the age of only 6 years old, how brilliant, how intelligent, how responsible, brave, his strong interest and love for learning will make us all overwhelmed.

It can be seen that Wawa and her sister Naxiang help their mother with the housework and the two little siblings have a good time by playing a lot of sports together. When her sister goes to school, Wawa becomes lonely and plays alone with the dog. It can be seen that the people of their village have to wade dangerously over the river with the help of ropes as a means of transportation and they call this river crossing as Twin Towers.

On the other hand, Wawa insists on going to school and tells her mother that she wants to study like her sister. At first his mother forbade him, but later told him that if he grew up like his sister, she would be admitted to the school and forbade him from visiting the Twin Towers. Then Naxiang explains to his younger brother and tells him that one day you too will be able to go to school. However, it can be seen that when Naxiang sits down to read, Wawa sits next to her and listens to her sister's reading until the end of the reading. Also, when Naxiang goes to school, Wawa reads those readings alone.

One day when Naxiang couldn't calculate a number given at school, Wawa did her sister's number very easily. Naxiang realizes how talented his brother is and how eager he is to study. When their grandmother suddenly falls ill, their mother is afraid to cross the Twin Towers to fetch a doctor and is forced to send Naxiang into town to bring a doctor home for her grandmother.

However, Wawa disobeyed his mother and secretly went to his sister's school and secretly listened to the school readings. This leads to Wawa being spotted by the school's new Madam Nie. Nie Madam arranges new shoes for the school children from the school fund and talks to her friend to build a bridge over the river. Madam Nie goes to their house with her student Naxiang and everyone in the house finds out about Wawa's school attendance.

Wawa was told by her mother that it was too dangerous to cross the Twin Towers, so she was not enrolled in school, but the school's madam Nie came to teach her at home. It can be seen that after that Wawa takes her sister's new shoes from the school and carefully wears them while going to school. Naxiang dies later from the Twin Towers while returning home with a new pair of shoes to his brother's happiness after receiving his brother's love. Wawa cannot accept her sister's death easily, as a result of which Wawa becomes completely silent and does not speak to anyone for many days.

In such a situation, the school madam talks to the doctor and learns that Wawa should be brought back to a healthy and normal life by fulfilling his wishes. So Madam tries to explain Wawa's mother. But when a bridge is built over the river, Wawa remembers her sister and starts going to her school with a smile. After which it is very well understood that through the construction of a bridge, children have the opportunity to go to school without fear and joy.
