⚖️ First Impression
Honestly, this movie made a tremendous impression on me. For me, along with the 5th film, (Yes, this is the sixth one) it's the rescue of the franchise. It's a brilliant movie. Even though we know the basic plot, here they twisted it to make it something different from the others. I don't want to tell you too much so you can enjoy it if you are a genre lover. It's not just another round of creative deaths; there is a plot, a broader explanation, and a story behind it all—a very well-executed job by the directors.
📖 Synopsis
The central plot follows a new group of young people, led by a character named Michele, who manage to escape death after one of them has a premonition of a terrible tragedy. As is the rule in the saga, Death returns to claim those who cheated their destiny.
However, the big new feature of this installment is that it explores the origin of the curse. The story will connect with the first film from 2000, revealing that the original survivor, Alex Browning, was not the first case. The film will suggest that the "Death" curse has been active for 60 years, since 1962, and has affected multiple generations of families.
🎭 Analysis and Rating
The Positive:
- The depth of the plot compared to its predecessors.
- The concept of "family" and "legacy" adds an emotional layer.
- Tony Todd returned to portray the iconic mortician William Bludworth before his death in 2024.
The Disappointing:
- Honestly, I didn't find anything wrong with it; I thought it was excellent.
🏆 Fun Fact
It is said that the title, although not an official vote, was chosen with the fan community's expectations in mind. The concept of "lineage" or "family saga" was a popular theory among the most hardcore followers for years. By choosing this title, they are giving the fans exactly what they had been speculating about for a long time. Furthermore, being released for the franchise's 25th anniversary, it functions as a celebration and a culmination of its mythology.
⭐ Final Verdict
I would dare to say it's as good as, or even better than, the first one. If you are a follower of the saga, go see it. If you've only seen the first one, you can also watch it; you don't need to have seen the previous ones. In summary, the most notable thing is that this film is not just "more of the same." It is the definitive installment of the saga, expanding its world while remaining faithful to what made it unique.

🏆 Dato Curioso
