Yu-Gi-Oh! was a characteristic series in my stage of pre puberty and complete adolescence, it could be said that the first season of the series was the one that had a significant impact on me, and at the time led me to enjoy as well as buy certain merchandise of the franchise. Curiously last week while listening to music on youtube, the algorithm of that platform was recommending me certain videos of significant scenes and fights of that first season in question, and I could not help but feel nostalgic when watching them, however there was present a video in question related to a fight of a movie of the franchise from 2004 that personally I never saw or informed me about it to my amazement, since I only focused on watching the series as such to be more precise the first season until the end long ago.
So I decided to give it a chance, and let me tell you that I liked the truth and not only that, apparently there are 2 other movies related to the franchise, but from other seasons in which other protagonist linked to the characteristic card game, it really has certain things that I liked and one or another that did not generate me as much impact as I would like, so I will try to be as neutral or objective as possible without allowing my nostalgia to cloud my judgment and maybe after this review, I can see the other remaining movies and who knows talk about the first season at the time in depth. So without further ado, let's start with this first film installment of 2004.
Yu-Gi-Oh! fue una serie característica en mi etapa de pre pubertad y completa adolescencia, se podría decir que la primera temporada de la serie fue la que tuvo un impacto significativo en mi persona, y en su momento me llevo a disfrutar así como comprar cierta mercancía de la franquicia. Curiosamente la semana pasada mientras escuchaba música en youtube, el algoritmo de dicha plataforma me estuvo recomendando ciertos videos de escenas y combates significativos de esa primera temporada en cuestión, y no pude evitar sentirme nostálgico al verlos, sin embargo estaba presente un video en cuestión relacionado a un combate de una película de la franquicia del 2004 que en lo personal nunca vi o me informe sobre ello para mi asombro, ya que solo me enfoque en ver la serie como tal para ser más precisos la primera temporada hasta el final hace mucho tiempo atrás.
Así que decidí darle una oportunidad, y déjenme decirles que me gusto la verdad y no solo eso, al parecer hay otras 2 películas relacionadas a la franquicia, pero de otras temporadas en las cuales sale otros protagonista vinculado al juego de cartas característico, realmente tiene ciertas cosas que me gustaron y una que otra que no me genero tanto impacto como me gustaría, así que intentare ser lo más neutral u objetivo posible sin permitir que mi nostalgia nuble mi juicio y quizás luego de esta reseña, pueda verme las otras películas restantes y quien sabe hablar de la primera temporada en su momento a profundidad. Así que sin mas preámbulo comencemos con esta primera entrega cinematográfica del 2004.

Duel Monsters: Pyramid of Light (Yugio Dyueru Monsutazu Hikari no Piramiddo) fue una película producida en el año del 2004 por la productora de Warner Bros y dirigida por Hatsuki Tsuji, se trata de una película animada elaborada y dirigida como objetivo principal a la audiencia occidental, debido al impacto significativo y gran recepción que tuvo el juego de cartas así como su serie correspondiente, principalmente en Estados Unidos donde tuvo mayor recepción.
Summary / Resumen
The story begins at first instance showing us the events that unfold in the first chapter of the series, when the young Yugimoto puts together the millennium puzzle, however as this occurred also emphasizes a figure similar to the puzzle of young Yugimoto but in Egypt, which has powers and unusual and shady qualities. We are quickly transported to the present of the series, and Yugi's presence as he wins the duel in city battles echoes throughout as the best monster duel player, having the cards of the 3 Egyptian gods in his hand. Disgusted and annoyed by this, a disgruntled and proud as well as self-centered Seto Kaiba, will use the necessary means to seek a meeting with Yugi and fight a duel with him to achieve his long-awaited victory, ignoring that there are strange and dark forces that will haunt them and their friends.
La historia comienza a primera instancia mostrándonos los eventos que se desarrollan en el primer capítulo de la serie, cuando el joven Yugimoto arma el rompecabezas del milenio, sin embargo a medida de que esto ocurría también se hacia énfasis en una figura similar al rompecabezas del joven Yugimoto pero en Egipto, el cual posee poderes y cualidades inusuales y sombrías. Rápidamente somos transportados al presente de la serie, y la presencia de Yugi al ganar el duelo en ciudad batallas hace eco por todas partes como el mejor jugador de duelo de monstruos, al tener este en su mano las cartas de los 3 dioses egipcios. Disgustado y molesto por esto un inconforme y orgulloso así como egocéntrico Seto Kaiba, utilizara los medios necesarios para buscar un encuentro con Yugi y batirse en duelo con el para alcanzar su tan anhelada victoria ignorando que hay fuerzas extrañas y sombrías que los asecharan.
Personal opinion / Opinión personal
Personally I liked the movie, it was quite entertaining, I decided to watch it in the Latin American dubbing more than anything for comfort and a bit of nostalgia and it is quite curious, because there are certain idioms and slang in this case from Mexico that at this point I found very funny, without leaving aside to explore and specify what they feel or manifest certain characters according to how the film developed, each voice actor in my opinion did a great job, the animations are quite acceptable although the images contain strong colors, mainly rooted in the facial expressions of the characters a notable feature of the characters in this franchise.
The plot is quite simplistic, but it is not bad either or from my point of view it is acceptable as far as it goes, my only complaints if they could be called so were that they took a long time to give emphasis to some scenes in which the secondary characters had to face a difficult situation so to speak in a maze I felt it very slow and that at this point now I remember well because the character of Kaiba I do not like very well is the typical self-centered character, It was almost unbearable to see how his ego clouded his judgment before what was happening around him, while Yugi or yami yugi in this case tried to reach him and give him to understand that strange and very dangerous things were happening that affected them little by little.
The figure in this case of the villain of this movie, I liked both in its design and in the skills he used, I feel that it is the typical generic villain, but for what was wanted to develop in the film considering the development of its plot is acceptable, they were different times when this movie was made and wanted to develop something simple, the animation in combat was very good in my opinion quite enjoyable and of course to emphasize and stand on issues such as friendship, consideration and courage by the cast of characters associated with yugimoto and yami yugi a feature that in some way or another has made weight and emphasis in this franchise or in particular in this season in question where it is a reference.
Soon I will watch the other two remaining movies when I find myself a little more unoccupied, and maybe I will delve into the series as such to touch aspects that I liked and which ones I didn't, without more to say thank you very much for coming this far and until next time.
La película en lo personal me gusto, estaba bastante entretenida me dispuse a verla en el doblaje latinoamericano más que nada por comodidad y un poco de nostalgia y es bastante curioso, porque hay ciertos modismos y jergas en este caso procedentes de México que a estas alturas me parecieron muy graciosas, sin dejar de lado en explorar y especificar lo que sienten o manifiestan ciertos personajes acorde a como se desarrollaba la película, cada actor de doblaje desde mi parecer hizo un gran trabajo, las animaciones son bastante aceptables aunque las imágenes contienen colores fuertes, principalmente arraigados en las expresiones faciales de los personajes una característica notable de los personajes en esta franquicia.
La trama es bastante simplista, pero tampoco está mal o desde mi parecer lo veo así esta aceptable dentro de lo que cabe, mis únicas quejas si se podrían llamar así fueron que se tomaron mucho tiempo en darle énfasis a algunas escenas en la cual los personajes secundarios tuvieron que enfrentar una situación difícil por así decirlo en un laberinto lo sentí muy lento y que a estas alturas ahora recuerdo bien porque el personaje de Kaiba no me cae muy bien es el típico personaje egocéntrico, orgulloso y bastante obstinado, fue casi insoportable ver como su ego nublaba su juicio ante lo que ocurría a su alrededor, mientras Yugi o yami yugi en este caso intentaba llegar a él y darle a entender que pasaban cosas extrañas y muy peligrosas que les afectaban de a poco.
La figura en este caso del villano de esta película, me gusto tanto en su diseño como en las habilidades que usaba, siento que es el típico villano genérico, pero para lo que se quería desarrollar en la película considerando el desarrollo de su trama esta aceptable, eran tiempos diferentes cuando se hizo esta película y se quería elaborar algo simple, la animación en combates fue muy buena a mi parecer bastante disfrutable y por supuesto el recalcar y hacer pie en temas como la amistad, consideración y valor por parte del elenco de personajes asociado a yugimoto y yami yugi una característica que de alguna u otra forma se ha hecho peso y énfasis en esta franquicia o en particular en esta temporada en cuestión donde se es referente.
Próximamente me veré las otras dos películas restantes cuando me encuentre un poco más desocupado, y quizás profundice en la serie como tal para tocar aspectos que me gustaron y cuáles no, sin más que decir muchas gracias por llegar hasta aquí y hasta la próxima.
