Ambulance (2022)

Yesterday I saw 'Ambulance' by Michael Bay (director of the Transformers movies, among others) and had a fantastic time! I don't even remember how long it's been since I saw such a good action movie , which had me on edge from the first minute to the last. Based on the 2005 film of the same name, Bay manages to direct a truly bombastic film, shot entirely on the road, with admirable mastery, making the events seem like they are happening in real time and broadcast live. And when I said, it's been a long time since a heist movie came out, let's see it, I won't remember it later either, that was reversed when I found myself on the edge of my seat from the beginning, watching this suspenseful, dark, non-stop manhunt that took my breath away. Imagine a combination of fast & furious and Neeson / Statham type movies, but from a director who knows how to direct and with actors who don't seem to be bored with their acting lives. So if you like movies like this or need an adrenaline rush, run! It's not 'the movie you shouldn't miss', but it's a movie to have a lot of fun with, and that's just not negligible. Also, Lorne Bafle's music is wonderful, while what a joy to see again in a leading role, on the big screen, the beloved Gyllenhaal (he also liked the role of the 'bad guy', which we don't see him playing very often). However, the performances of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, Aquaman, Us, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Candyman, The Mattox Resurrections) and Eiza Gonzâlez (Baby Driver, Alita: Battle Angel, F&F : Hobbs & Shaw, Bloodshot, Godzilla vs Kong).
