Hello everyone’s lovers of anime of yesteryear! After several months, I could finish seeing one of the animes that has caused me more emotions and is that despite the years and that their animation, is no longer so attractive, the message and feelings contained in the plot, they continue to have that beautiful effect that it manages to touch the I remember when I was a child, I saw some of the works of Leiji Matsumoto, the author, although at that time, I was unable to see something complete. Now in the present, I must admit that this kind of animes, are from my favorites … but, let me tell them that it is about Galaxy Express 999 and why I recommend it hard.

The anime is based on the journey of 999, one of the best-known galactic railways that makes its trip through different galaxies, allowing its passengers, accessing different worlds. In order to upload the train, you need a special, extremely expensive ticket to which very few, can access. It is for that reason that many inhabitants of different planets, admire with longing to get enough money to pay a Galactic Express ticket, to be able to leave their home planets and achieve their dreams.

On planet Earth, it has been governed in its entirety by cyborgs and humans, who have not been able to obtain a metal body, have been excluded and forced to live in absolute poverty. Among them are, Tetsuro Hoshino and his mother, who plan to go to the city of Megalopolis, where the Galactic Express 999 can be approached. They want to work hard in the city in order to buy tickets to address 999 and go to the planet that offers a free mechanical body to everyone who wants it. With that, Tetsuro’s mother expects her and her son to obtain eternal life and to be able to live at last, a full existence, delivered from fatigue and hard work that demands an organic body.

During his journey towards Megalopolis, Tetsuro and his mother are addressed by humans, a few cyborgs who enjoy hunting human as fun. The little child suffers the loss of his mother before his eyes and promises to charge revenge, following his way. More the intense cold causes it to fall lying in the snow, being rescued before death, by a strange woman who is presented as Maetal. When you wake up, Tetsuro asks the woman to show you the way to get to Megalopolis to continue with her plan to get money, on the other hand, Maetel offers you a totally unexpected offer … It offers an unlimited pass for 999, with the condition that she accompanies him on his trip.

Through your trip towards planet where you will get a mechanical body, Tetsuro will have the opportunity to visit different planets: fully automated planets, others with medium or little development, prosperous or in extreme poverty; With human inhabitants, cyborgs or other creatures with varied and even humanoid forms. On these planets it will remain by brief periods of time (usually, what lasts one day), but where it will receive invaluable teachings, knowing endearing characters, dreamers and fighters, for the sake of a better future for their planets or with the desire of But you will also know petty beings, witnessing injustices, evil rulers and meaningless wars; Doing that, that the boy starts to mature and discuss his decision to change his life as a mortal human.

One of the things that caught my attention was the resemblance to the history of “the little prince”, since the protagonist, travels to different planets where he knows people with different problems and who always seek to give him a teaching. This is the part that I loved from the series, despite the animation, the situations raised mostly, are usually quite raw and cruel, but quite realistic, which touches the sensitive vein of the viewer when analyzing the events. Many times I cried seeing some episode, with a sense of nostalgia or with an uneasiness, but as in real life, in Galaxy Express 999, we can appreciate that not everything is rosy, but that in the same way, despite the chaos and moments of abatement, we can appreciate the characters trying to fulfill their dreams and get ahead, showing you how valuable life resurfaced in different threatening environments.

Another thing I love this story, is the way Leiji Matsumoto tries to reflect on the viewer about that the problem is often of the human ones, because his selfishness, is always the one that has just contributed to the destruction of the planets in That nostalgic air, but where also, the hope arises, the idealization that a change is possible, but only if it is brave enough to adopt it. Undoubtedly, for me, it is a beautiful anime, in each episode, he engaged me on each planet and in the situation of the characters. Even though there are many sad scenes that leave you with melancholia, I adore the realistic way in which the plot of each story is reflected, since each planet can be seen as a mini history, with its respective moral, which maintains the freshness of the He has become my favorite animes, encouraging him to follow the work of this author, I recommend them with all my heart, even though the graphics are no longer so impressive, give it an opportunity, they will not regret it.

¡Hola a todos los amantes del anime de antaño! Luego de varios meses, pude terminar de ver uno de los animes que más emociones me ha causado y es que a pesar de los años y de que su animación, ya no sea tan atrayente, el mensaje y los sentimientos contenidos en la trama, siguen teniendo ese hermoso efecto que logra tocar la fibra sensible de aquellos que ven las animaciones en busca de más allá de los gráficos. Recuerdo que cuando era niña, veía alguna de las obras de Leiji Matsumoto, el autor, aunque en ese tiempo, fui incapaz de ver algo completo. Ahora en el presente, debo admitir que ésta clase de animes, son de mis favoritos... pero, déjenme que les cuente de que trata Galaxy Express 999 y porqué la recomiendo arduamente.

El anime se basa en el viaje del 999, uno de los ferrocarriles galácticos más conocidos que realiza su viaje por distintas galaxias, permitiendo a sus pasajeros, acceder a distintos mundos. Para poder subir al tren, necesitas un boleto especial, sumamente costoso al que muy pocos, pueden tener acceso. Es por esa razón que muchos habitantes de distintos planetas, admiran con añoranza el poder conseguir el dinero suficiente para poder pagar un boleto del Expreso galáctico, para poder irse de sus planetas natales y lograr realizar sus sueños.

En el planeta tierra, el mismo ha sido gobernado en su totalidad por los cyborgs y los humanos, que no han podido obtener un cuerpo de metal, han sido excluidos y obligados a vivir en la absoluta pobreza. Entre ellos están, Tetsuro Hoshino y su madre, quienes tienen pensado ir a la ciudad de Megalópolis, lugar en donde el expreso galáctico 999 puede ser abordado. Desean trabajar arduamente en la ciudad con el fin de poder comprar los boletos para abordar el 999 y dirigirse al planeta que ofrece un cuerpo mecánico gratis a todo aquel que lo desee. Con eso, la madre de Tetsuro espera que ella y su hijo puedan obtener la vida eterna y poder vivir por fin, una existencia plena, librados del cansancio y del trabajo duro que exige un cuerpo orgánico.

Durante su recorrido hacia Megalópolis, Tetsuro y su madre son abordados por los cazadores de humanos, unos ciborgs que disfrutan cazando humanos como diversión. El pequeño niño sufre la pérdida de su madre ante sus ojos y promete cobrar venganza, siguiendo solo su camino. Más el frío intenso provoca que caiga tendido en la nieve, siendo rescatado antes de fallecer, por una extraña mujer que se presenta como Maetal. Al despertar, Tetsuro le pide a la mujer que le enseñe el camino para llegar a Megalópolis para continuar con su plan para conseguir dinero, en cambio, Maetel le ofrece una oferta totalmente inesperada... darle un pase de uso ilimitado para abordar el 999, con la condición de que sea su acompañante.

A través de su viaje con dirección al planeta en donde conseguirá un cuerpo mecánico, Tetsuro tendrá la oportunidad de visitar distintos planetas: planetas totalmente automatizados, otros con medio o poco desarrollo, prósperos o en extrema pobreza; con habitantes humanos, cyborgs u otras criaturas con formas variadas y hasta humanoides. En estos planetas permanecerá por breves periodos de tiempo (por lo general, lo que dure un día), pero en donde recibirá enseñanzas invaluables, conociendo a personajes entrañables, soñadores y luchadores, en aras de un mejor futuro para sus planetas o con el deseo de cumplir sus sueños; pero también conocerá seres mezquinos, presenciando injusticias, gobernantes malvados y guerras sin sentido; haciendo con ello, que el chico empiece a madurar y a debatir acerca de su decisión de cambiar su vida como humano mortal.

Una de las cosas que me llamó la atención fue el parecido con la historia del "Principito", ya que el protagonista, viaja a diferentes planetas en donde conoce personas con diferentes problemas y que siempre, buscan de darle una enseñanza. Esta es la parte que amé de la serie, a pesar de la animación, las situaciones planteadas en su mayoría, suelen ser bastante crudas y crueles, pero bastante realistas, lo cual toca la vena sensible del espectador al analizar los eventos. Muchas veces lloré viendo algún episodio, con sensación de nostalgia o con una desazón, pero al igual que en la vida real, en Galaxy Express 999, podemos apreciar que no todo es color de rosa, pero que de igual modo, a pesar del caos y de los momentos de abatimiento, podemos apreciar a los personajes esforzándose por cumplir sus sueños y salir adelante, mostrándote lo valioso de la vida resurgiendo en distintos ambientes amenazantes.

Otra de las cosas que me encanta de ésta historia, es el modo en que Leiji Matsumoto, trata de hacer reflexionar al espectador sobre que el problema muchas veces es de los propios humanos, pues su egoísmo, siempre es el que acaba contribuyendo con la destrucción de los planetas en los que habita o con la vida de sus semejantes. Ese aire nostálgico, pero en donde también, surge la esperanza, la idealización de que es posible un cambio, pero sólo si se es lo suficientemente valiente como para adoptarlo. Sin duda, para mí, es un anime bellísimo, en cada episodio, me enfrascaba en cada planeta y en la situación de los personajes. A pesar de que hay muchas escenas tristes que te dejan con melancolía, adoro el modo realista en que se refleja la trama de cada historia, ya que cada planeta se puede ver como una mini historia, con su respectiva moraleja, lo cual mantiene la frescura de la serie y evita el aburrimiento. Se ha vuelto de mis animes favoritos, animándome a seguir el trabajo de éste autor, se los recomiendo de todo corazón, a pesar de que los gráficos ya no sean tan impresionantes, denle una oportunidad, no se arrepentirán.
