MadMax: Fury Road Review.

Review by @suqueen 🏆#102 🎵36 🎬25 📺10 · 9h · of Mad Max: Fury Road · 2 views

This movie I saw recently... called Mad Max: Fury Road, which has been recommended to me by numerous people many times, alot of times intact I can't count, and this one I didn't want to watch because I thought it was just going to be another loud, uncommunicative action adventure blockbuster with no point, I was wrong, and I'm here to eat my words.

So the story is about a post apocalyptic wasteland, basically, everything is desert, there is little water left, Max is a lone surviving member living in fear of this guy called Immortan Joe, who has a Citadel fortress where he controls everybody by threatening to kill them or send them away, and the War Boys are his army, he is captured and they make him a literal "blood bag", taking his blood from him and giving it to one of the sick soldiers, Nux Chai, imagine the possibility of becoming mere spare parts to another's survival.

Meanwhile, there's Furiosa played by Charlize Theron's, one of Joe's best man, unknown to them that she's secretly planning her own rebellion, and she's sent out on a supply run, only to go off course, and Joe finds that she's smuggling out Joe's five wives, women he's been keeping as breeders. These women, she's trying to get to a place called the Green Place, she doesn't know whether it exists or not, so when Joe finds out what she's done, he sends his whole army after her and that's when the fun really begins.

Max gets wound up in all this because of being strapped to Nux's car, as literal bait, during the chase, then he breaks free during the Chaos flying off somewhere in the madness only to find himself joining forces with Furiosa and the wives, and not necessarily wanting to be the hero, but just because at this stage everyone is more or less tied to each other's fate.

And honestly, that's basically the whole movie, one long, relentless chase across the wasteland, there's barely any slow moments to breathe, it's just explosions, car chases, more explosions, and just when you think it can't get more intense, it does it actually gets even worse, but somehow it never feels boring or repetitive, because there's actual emotional weight behind it, you are e not just watching cars blow up for no reason, you are watching people fighting for freedom, for redemption, for a chance at something better than the hell they've been living in.

I just loved Furiosa's character, she's not a peripheral character in Max's story, she was really the whole movie to say , A strong, calculated woman, driven by her pain, her mission, I was impressed by this movie because of how this was not your typical "hero saves everyone" kind of story, it was like everyone's out here being a hero to save themselves and each other on the way.

The action itself is crazy too crazy like that you wonder how did nobody die while shooting this and the wasteland too is alive and gritty, not some fake CGI backdrop.

Honestly, I can see why people have been talking about this movie alot, It's intense, it's emotional in ways I didn't anticipate, and it's worthy of all the hype ,so If you are like me and have been sleeping on this for a while, please watch it!

I've watched only one Mad Max and so far I liked it, though there was a lot to take in as it was not a slow story. Then I had Fury Road ready to watch, and I even watched parts of the movie, and it seemed interesting. I don't know what happened; I just didn't watch it in full. Your review became kind of a reminder for me, of this movie.

I really enjoyed watching this movie, it's really worthy of the hype. The Furiosa character really made this movie worth watching. Nice review btw 😊

I liked it a lot, too! Better than the follow up film "Furiosa".
