Jab We Met: After so much recommendation I have watched the movie

Review by @tahastories1 🏆#249 🔥1 🎵3 🎬3 · 14h · of Jab We Met · 2 views

Jab We Met is one of those Indian movies that most people here in South Asia have likely watched, yet I hadn't. I was feeling as if i was missing out something. I had watched so many clips of it, so in this way, I knew it was a very cheerful movie. One character in the movie, Geet, is extrovert and jolly and on the other side, Aditya is introvert and serious. That was all I knew before watching the movie.

Anyway, a few days ago I gathered up thr courage to sit down and watch that movie, and it felt great to finally watch it. Now, if any of my friends discuss it in front of me, I’ll be able to join the conversation.

Let Me Narrate You Story

Aditya, the protagonist, is struggling in his business. He is deeply sad because his girlfriend is being married to someone else.To navigate or to overlook his grief, he goes to a railway station and boards a random train. Coincidentally, Geet, the female lead, also in the same train.

Geet is very excited to return home as now her studies are complete. She has planned to marry with Anshuman against the will of her parents. Because her family would never agree to their marriage and might marry her to someone else.

Aditya is sitting right in front of Geet, but he remains silent. Geet tries to engage him in conversation, but he stays reticent. He becomes frustrated and stands by the door of the train. He was might be thinking of commiting suicide. Right at the moment, Geet comes there behind him and scolds him of thinking of suicide.

When the train stops at a station, Aditya steps off from the train. Geet runs after him to warn him that train is about to depart. She was fearful that he might miss the train. Meanwhile, the train departs away and Geet’s luggage remains in the train. She is angry over Aditya and blames him for her belongings being left behind. Aditya then decides to helps her, and they book a taxi to get their luggage back. However, still they end up missing their train. Somehow, they were forced to spend the night at a hotel. During this time, they share a lot of life with one another.

Aditya goes with Geet to her home and helps her run away, but Anshman refuses to accept her. Aditya returns home. Eventually Aditya tracks again. On his surprise he discovered that she has been living in an ashram( a shelter) after leaving Anshman. He persuades her to return home, intending to have her remarry Anshman. However, Geet falls in love with Aditya instead and ultimately the two get married.

The idea of Movie

Every movie, piece of literature, or work of art is open to different interpretations and it depends on consumer's understanding of the concept.

In my view, the movie's central theme revolved around the meeting of an extrovert and an introvert and how delightful life is a result of this meeting. As well as it shows the mutual influence between a pessimist and an optimist. These aspects play a crucial role in the film, and makes it a cult classic.

What I learned from the Movie?

Trailer

A person ultimately attains what he is waiting for or struggling to achieve. Due to ongoing my life crisis recently, I feel that this movie has given me a sense of optimism. It presented a clash of two perspectives, emphasizing that life can be lived in either way it simply depends whish path you choose.

one of my favorites song from the movie

Taha yar, that hotel scene was so funny, “Humein toh ghanton ke hisaab se chahiye” and “NagaRa NagaRa” is such a fun song. And the part where they hide on the rooftop while everyone is searching for them everywhere, then they quietly escape once everyone leaves to look for them. Aditya was actually such a caring guy throughout the movie.

Also, that scene where she keeps sticking her head out of the jeep reminded me that some scenes from my “The Getaway” blog were actually inspired by those jeep scenes and that song.

''Yeh Ishq Hai'' this song is my favourite. Kareena Kapoor was the best at that time.

The train journey part is one of my favorite things in this movie. Their first meeting creates so many funny and emotional moments.

In the end, love triumphs; perhaps there’s a much deeper message here: that we can make our dreams come true and fight for them. Every experience is worthwhile as long as it helps us get closer to where we want to be.
