Greetings, fellow otaku friends of #TheAnimeRealm! Today I'm here to talk a bit about a series that evokes some nostalgia. But before I begin, I must confess that I'm more of a fan of the game than the series itself, as I liked it, but I didn't absolutely love it. So, I'll offer my most honest opinion on Medabots, a frank one that you can consider when deciding whether or not to give this series a chance. The final decision is entirely up to you.

Pero antes de empezar, debo confesar que soy más fan del juego que de la serie en sí, ya que me gustó, pero no me encantó. Así que les ofreceré mi más sincera opinión sobre Medabots, una opinión cargada de franqueza que podrán tomar en cuenta para ver si quieren darle una oportunidad a esta serie o no. La decisión final se la dejaré a su criterio..
As I mentioned before, the series is steeped in nostalgia, since the video game shares some similarities with the anime; this is mainly in the design of the robots and how they're assembled, as well as the special parts used in certain battles. What I disliked from the start was the personality they gave the protagonist. From my point of view, Ikki Tenryou is quite bland compared to other protagonists of the era, which overshadows other characters in the series, making him seem more like a secondary character.
Como ya les mencioné, la serie está cargada de nostalgia, ya que el videojuego tiene un poco de relación con el anime; esto, más que todo, en el diseño de los robots y en la forma en que se arman, además de las piezas especiales que se usaban en ciertas batallas. Lo que desde un inicio no me gustó ni un poquito fue la personalidad que le dieron al protagonista, desde mi punto de vista, Ikki Tenryou me resulta bastante soso, en comparación con otros héroes protanistas de la época, esto hace que otros personajes de la serie lo opaquen y quede viéndose más bien como un personaje secundario.
I was one of the many otaku who enjoyed the game to its fullest on my Game Boy Advance. It was a memorable experience for me and holds a very special place in my heart. These memories came flooding back when I started watching the anime series with high expectations, because the game was amazing and I loved it so much; in fact, it's one of my favorites, now that I think about it.
Yo fui uno de los muchos otakus que disfrutaron del juego en su máxima expresión al usar mi Game Boy Advance. Esto para mí fue memorable y guardo un lugar muy especial dentro de mis memorias, memorias que me vinieron a la mente cuando empecé a ver la serie de animé con mis expectativas bien altas, ya que el juego fue una pasada y me gustó demasiado, de hecho, es uno de mis favoritos, ahora que lo pienso bien.
Then you'll understand my level of excitement when I start watching this series and what I get loses the essence compared to the game. What do I mean by this? The anime feels like an adventure that progresses with a somewhat slow story for my taste; the game, on the other hand, shines with its concept of the Medabots and their functions. That is, everything revolves around these robots; they are the stars themselves, while with the series, the opposite is true.
Entonces entenderán mi nivel de emoción cuando empiece a ver esta serie y lo que me dan pierde la esencia en comparación con el juego. ¿A qué me refiero con esto? El anime se siente como una aventura que avanza con una historia algo lenta para mi gusto; el juego, por otro lado, brilla con su concepto sobre los Medabots y sus funciones. Es decir, todo gira en torno a estos robots, ellos son las estrellas en sí mientras que con la serie ocurre todo lo contrario.
Another point worth highlighting is that the feeling of victory in a difficult battle in the game far surpasses any scripted victory Ikki achieves in the series. While the anime fulfills its purpose of entertaining and introducing us to this universe, it falls short when compared to the complexity of its playable versions. Medabots is a curious case where the spin-off visually surpassed the original story, but failed to capture the true strategic essence that video games master perfectly.
Otro punto a destacar es que el sentimiento de victoria en una batalla difícil del juego supera con creces a cualquier victoria guionizada de Ikki en la serie. Aunque el anime cumple su función de entretener y presentarnos este universo, se queda corto al compararlo con la complejidad de sus versiones jugables. Medabots es un caso curioso donde el producto derivado superó visualmente a la historia original, pero no logró capturar la verdadera esencia estratégica que los videojuegos dominan a la perfección.
