I have been hearing about this new movie titled Jagun Jagun even right from the day it was launched on Netflix. Ever since then, it has always been on my mind to watch until this morning when I came across it on my friend's phone and I had to send it to my phone to watch.
I have always said it that the Nigerian Nollywood industry is now moving so fast and trying to blend into the latest update of the trends going on in the world. Jagun Jagun is a Nigerian action-adventure movie, that talks about the current situation of the Nigerian politics and government. This movie was produced by Nigerian actor Femi Adebayo. The movie was launched 10th of August 2023 in the cinema.
This movie shows the Nigerian heritage and also portrays the quality of the African lifestyle. The movie tells a story about a young boy who grew up to be a warrior and chooses to go on a quest to make a name for himself and also become a great warrior to avenge the death of his late father.
Along the way, he got entangled with a lady which he fell in love with, but destiny didn't allow their love life to last too long. Also, in his quest, he went through a series of tasks for him to show his bravery.
Jagun Jagun is filled with lots of great warriors who are so powerful even beyond doubt. This movie is filled with love, betrayal, war, rivalry and also, it represents our culture, especially the Yoruba. I got so attracted to the movie that even while I was dosing, I was still trying as much to concentrate on it because of the epic moments in it.
Talking about the cinematography, I would give this a 9/10 because most of the things done in this movie are far more than true because it was looking real. At some point, I was thinking I was in the town which the movie was acted because I was really drawn to it. Some of the cast in the movie includes Femi Adebayo, Tope Adebayo, Adebowale Adedayo, Lateef Adedimeji and many others.
Truth be told, I was kept on my feet with the storytelling in this movie. Every aspect of the movie is always giving you a big suspense you won’t want to miss at all. The battle scenes, most especially, got my mind, and I was actually thinking what was going to come out of this, but the producer beat my imagination by telling me No. The soundtrack to each scene tells me that there is more to happen.
Every aspect of the movie beats my imagination, most especially the love part. While I was watching that part, I was feeling like having a love partner that I can also show my love to, but there is none at the moment. The costume of the warriors are very neat and clean for a warrior. Unlike some other movies I have watched before.
The movie cannot be too good without a flaw, and that's why we are humans. I feel one place I do not like about the movie was where the young warrior's wife to be died from his range to flew from death of the masquerade trying to attack him. His wife shouldn't have died because she suffered a bit, and plus she wasn't the true daughter of a great warrior.
In conclusion, Jagun Jagun is captivating and enticing, it portrays the true quality of Nigerians as our old cultural lifestyle is and more about the current political activities. Jagun Jagun is highly recommended for anyone seeking a movie that will enthrall you and also give you the satisfaction of an epic storytelling while honoring African heritage and showcasing Africans talent in the Nollywood section.
