The Banshees of Inisherin/Almas en pena de Inisherin (Review/Reseña)

Padric and Colm are two friends who have been together all their lives on the island of Inisherin in Ireland, but one day Colm decides to stop being Padric's friend, because he is too boring, there, the island far from society begins to have stories to tell.

Padric y Colm son dos amigos que han estado juntos toda su vida en la isla de Inisherin en Irlanda, pero un día Colm decide dejar de ser amigo de Padric, por ser demasiado aburrido, allí, la isla alejada de la sociedad empieza a tener cuentos que contar.

There was something that called me from this film, I couldn't quite say what it was, if its photography, the scenes that were seen in some cold place, the actor Barry Keoghan or the story in general. The truth is that when I saw it available on Star+, I saw it immediately, leading me to a story of friendship and rancor that I enjoyed in its almost two-hour duration.

The Banshees of Inisherin is a story of common sense, beyond the fact that events happen to give the protagonist development, to entertain, to make people laugh, it is what anyone could have done in their moment of madness or boredom. I came to read that it is in the comedy category, lately I don't understand how this genre is everywhere, even in a movie like this, I might not understand today's jokes, but that is another topic for another time.

The story of two friends who stop talking to each other because one of them feels that he is wasting time talking to him, something as simple as that, one looking for something more to fill him up and the other being too dependent on others. The story has ramifications with other characters, which isn't absurd or boring, it's more for a break from the fights of two men of age. It can be seen interesting at the point where Colm amputates a finger out of hatred for his old friend, which makes the story grow in feelings from that moment on, which makes it more enjoyable.

Padraic was one of the characters that I hated, a conformist man who depended on everyone for not liking being alone, and if they didn't accompany him to stupid things. I expected a tragic ending for this character, not because of the disagreement I had with him but because of how the last few minutes seemed to drive the character to the maximum madness, which was more entertaining than the true ending.

Although they got twice what it cost to make it, they don't see it as a great investment, since a movie must make triple to be a success, even so, the movie is good and it had its audience, they didn't lose money in addition to deliver a friendship story that could be shown consistently in the future as a movie that teaches us. Without a doubt, I recommend it.

Había algo que me llamaba de esta película, no sabría bien decir que era, si su fotografía, las escenas que se veían en algún lugar frío, el actor Barry Keoghan o la historia en general. Lo cierto es que al verla disponible en Star+ la vi de inmediato, llevándome a una historia de amistad y rencor que disfrute en sus casi dos horas de duración.

The Banshees of Inisherin es una historia de sentido común, más allá de que los sucesos pasen para darle al protagonista desarrollo, hacer entretener, hacer reír, es lo que cualquier persona podría haber hecho en su momento de locura o aburrimiento. Llegue a leer que esta en la categoría de comedia, últimamente no entiendo como ese genero esta en todos lados, inclusive en una película como esta, podría no entender los chistes de hoy en día, pero ese es otro tema para otra ocasión.

La historia de dos amigos que se dejan de hablar porque uno de ellos siente que pierde el tiempo al hablar con él, algo tan simple como eso, uno en busca de algo más que lo llene y el otro siendo demasiado dependiente de otros. La historia tiene ramificaciones con otros personajes, que no es absurdo o aburrido, es más para un descanso de las peleas de dos hombres mayores de edad. Puede verse interesante en el punto donde Colm se amputa un dedo por el odio a su antiguo amigo, cosa que hace que la historia se vaya agrandando en sentimientos a partir de ese momento, cosa que la hace más disfrutable.

Padraic fue uno de los personajes que deteste, un hombre conformista que dependía de todos por no gustarle estar solo, y si no lo acompañaban hacia estupideces. Espere un final trágico para este personaje, no por la disconformidad que tuve con él sino por como los últimos minutos parecía que llevaban al personaje a la locura máxima, cosa que fuese sido más entretenida que el verdadero final.

Aunque obtuvo el doble de lo que costó hacerlo no lo ven como una gran inversión, ya que una película debe hacer el triple para ser un éxito, aun así, la película es buena y tuvo su audiencia, no perdieron dinero de por medio ademas de entregar una historia de amistad que podría ser mostrada con constancia en el futuro como una película que nos enseña. Sin duda alguna, la recomiendo.
