Wacthmen (Reseña/Review)

The world fears the masked now, the police are no longer on their side, they begin to age and their beliefs about being heroes cease to exist, only a being with powers like those of a God is treated as a hero, the rest, only deranged who want attention.

El mundo le teme a los enmascarados ahora, la policía ya no esta de su lado, empiezan a envejecer y sus creencias sobre ser héroes dejan de existir, solo un ser con poderes como los de un Dios es tratado como héroe, el resto, solo trastornados que desean llamar la atención.

A few years ago I saw the Watchmen movie, I loved it back then, when I saw that this miniseries would come out I wanted to see it, but I didn't have the time or the availability to do it, now, I ran into it again, watching its eight chapters. This miniseries is a continuation of the movie released in 2009, years after its end, we see what happened in the world after Dr. Manhattan went to live on Mars.

The entertaining thing about this universe of superheroes is that there are no powers as such, they are abilities that people have that they use to help others, the only thing in science fiction are the tools they use, such as owl-shaped ships or spaceships capable of getting to Jupiter, it gives you a sense of reality where we could imagine a future like that.

Even the reason why policemen wear a mask seems logical to me, to hide your identity from people so they don't know you're a policeman so they don't resent you or hate you. The series features colorful characters with backstories, even the character Looking Glass is striking because of her mask and his way of being, not only the protagonists are the focus in this miniseries.

Although it has won awards, it's been three years since it premiered and I haven't seen anything about a second season, it's possible to follow its story in addition to the fact that it has a comic from which they can get more content. I remember that the movie Watchmen impressed me because it was very dark, it seemed more like a horror or suspense movie, not because of its story but the settings, the photography, it didn't seem like a marvel movie where the heroes win at the end, it's more like a, We won?

Certainly the series aroused my interest in the comics of the same name, I would like to be able to read at least some or see more audiovisual content of this franchise, I really recommend the series to anyone who doesn't like superheroes, because the mystery and the drama make you feel in each chapter, it is intriguing and entertaining, without a doubt, I would see it again.

Hace unos años me vi la película de Watchmen, me encantó en aquel entonces, cuando vi que saldría esta miniserie quise verla, pero no tuve el tiempo ni la disponibilidad para hacerlo, ahora, me tope con ella de nuevo, viendo sus ocho capítulos. Esta miniserie es una continuación a la película estrenada en el 2009, años después de su final, vemos que sucedió en el mundo después de que el Dr. Manhatan se fuese a vivir a marte.

Lo entretenido de este universo de superheroes, es que no hay poderes como tal, son habilidades que tienen las personas que usan para ayudar a otros, lo único en ciencia ficción son las herramientas que usan como naves en forma de búho o naves espaciales capaces de llegar a Júpiter, le da una sensación de realidad donde podríamos imaginar un futuro como ese.

Incluso la razón de porque los policías usan mascara me parece lógica, ocultar tu identidad de las personas para que no sepan que eres un policía para que así no te tengan resentimiento u odio. La serie cuenta con personajes coloridos con historias de trasfondo, incluso el personaje Looking Glass es llamativo por su mascara y su forma de ser, no solo los protagonistas son el foco en esta miniserie.

Aunque ha ganado premios, ya han pasado tres años de que se estreno y no he visto nada acerca de una segunda temporada, es posible seguir su historia ademas de que tiene un comic del que pueden sacar más contenido. Recuerdo que la película Watchmen me impresiono porque era muy oscura, parecía más una película de terror o suspenso, no por su historia sino los escenarios, la fotografía, no parecía una película de marvel donde los héroes ganan al final, es más un ¿Ganamos?

Ciertamente la serie me despertó un interés en los comics del mismo nombre, quisiera poder leer algunos al menos o ver más contenido audiovisual de esta franquicia, realmente recomiendo la serie a cualquier persona así no le guste los superheroes, porque el misterio y el drama se hacen sentir en cada capitulo, es intrigante y entretenida, sin duda alguna, la volvería a ver.
