The Loved Ones (2009)
a Themovieplace short review and recommendation to the Steemit Community
Yesterday I recommended the horror movie Inside (2007) aka À l'intérieur, and today it will remain too the horror genre due to @mohammedfelahi who asked for this and my recommendation is the Australian movie The Loved Ones (2009) which I just finished watching and I think it's a good choice for the fans of this genre. I'm not a big fan of this genre but I had to find something new what I did not see either or I could recommend from those already watched which are not so many and i'm glad that this movie has managed to rise to my expectations. What made me see this movie are the great reviews from Rottentomatoes and I was amazed by his rating of 98%. The director of the movie is Sean Byrne which made more shorts films until The Loved Ones and has a new movie released in 2015 which appeared more at film festivals and just in 15 December 2016 it appeared in Russia and that's how it happened with the movie The Loved Ones which is from 2009 but has the release date in USA on June 2012. Let's get started and see why I liked this movie and I'll explain a few things about it.
Review(Possible spoilers)
The movie begin with Brent a high school student and his father who listens music and have fun talking about things and meanwhile someone appears on the road and Brent take the car out of the way and hit a tree and unfortunately his father dies in this accident.
After six months we'll see Brent at the high school with his best friend Jamie talking about the high school dance and during this time Mia appears and Jamie run after her and asks her if she wants to go with him at the dance. Brent remains alone and Lola take the chance and asks him if he wants to go with her to the dance too but Brent already has someone to go which is Holly.
Brent and Holly leaves the high school and think about going somewhere where to be just two of them and Brent told Holly ever since they were at the high school that somebody asked him to go at the dance and this thing it makes Holly curious and this one find the name of the person when she goes home.
Brent gets home and starts listening to rock music meanwhile his mother come into his room and asks him with what will go to the dance and he answers that will go with Holly who took the driver's license that day. His mother is very worried given that 6 months before his father died in that accident and she's too afraid of losing Brent who remembers the incident and leaves the home with his dog and goes to a nearby cliff, climbs it halfway and thinks of suicide but he changes his mind in the meantime and climbs to the top. After it reaches the top starts to get high on pot and enjoy the moment listening music too at the same time and someone attack him from behind and puts him in a car. I made a brief description from the beginning of the movie leaving you to discover the rest of the story about which I can say that is a good one in the first half of the movie but the last half is is really great who managed to come up with something unique and the movie turns from a teenage movie in something much more mature and strange and I hope you will enjoy it. The actors played very well especially Robin McLeavy which was phenomenal but also Xavier Samuel and John Brumpton and watch this movie all the way and don't give up at his half. The sound track was also good and about makeup I can say that is one of the best seen in this genre, and if you want a certain genre to be recommended for tomorrow you can ask for it and I'll try to find a movie which you have not seen yet, or if you've seen it I hope you enjoyed it (without anime and documentary), and will win the genre which is required by the majority.
My rating 8/10(in my opinion is a very good movie even if the first half it's not that great)
