I'm still finishing the This Is Us "season finale" so I may be being too hasty in judging this as the series with the best arc (or at least definitely among the top five series ever made). I can say without a shadow of a doubt that there are NO bad episodes in all these seasons and many, many of these episodes have a unique ability to make you cry even if you don't want to. I think it's important to explain a little, that the "tears" factor of This is Us doesn't mean that this is exactly a sad, heavy and painful series. It does have scenes, extremely heavy moments that make your throat constrict, but I can say that 50% of the tears that the series makes shed are tears of joy, of emotion. And you see, whoever is writing this is a bloody tear desert. Unfortunately, to contradict all the deep emotion that exists in me and all the sensitivity, I have great difficulty in being able to cry with cinema/music/etc. Not because I don't feel it, just because it "can't get there." But that's definitely not the rule when it comes to This Is Us. I got tired of getting teary-eyed while watching, and that's even what motivated me to write about this series, because after all, it's practically an emotional exercise to watch it.

Understanding that the show averages 45 minutes per episode and each season has more than 12 episodes, you can conclude that this amount of information (which is shown in the first episodes of the first season is practically NOTHING that you will be about to see). as the series unfolds).

Eu ainda estou terminando a "season finale" do This is Us então posso estar sendo precipitado em julgar essa como a série com o melhor arco (ou ao menos, definitivamente, entre as cinco melhores séries já feitas). Posso afirmar sem sombra de dúvidas que não existe NENHUM episódio ruim em todas essas temporadas e muitos, muitos desses episódios tem uma capacidade única de te colocar em prantos mesmo que você não queira isso. Acho importante explicar um pouco, que o fator "lágrimas" do This is Us não quer dizer que essa seja uma série exatamente triste, pesada e dolorida. Ela tem sim cenas, momentos extremamente pesados e que chegam a dar nó na garganta, mas posso afirmar que 50% das lágrimas que a série faz derrubar são lágrimas de alegria, de emoção. E vejam bem, quem está escrevendo isso é um maldito deserto lacrimal. Infelizmente, para contradizer toda a emoção profunda que existe em mim e toda a sensibilidade, tenho uma grande dificuldade em conseguir chorar com cinema/música/etc. Não por que eu não sinta, só por que "não chega lá". Mas isso definitivamente não é regra quando se trata de This is Us. Cansei de ficar com os olhos marejados enquanto assistia, e inclusive é isso que me motivou a escrever sobre essa série, por que afinal, é praticamente um exercício emocional assisti-la.
A série parece ter uma base tão simples que as vezes é difícil conceber o quão longe foram e ao mesmo tempo torna seu valor maior ainda ao perceber quão sensíveis foram os roteiristas e diretores envolvidos, para conseguir traduzir com tamanha perfeição a sensibilidade e complexidade absurda que é a vida humana, e quando contada da forma correta e com uma visão profunda e detalhada, é mais do que suficiente para preencher horas e horas de episódios sem tornar o tema massante. A história se inicia com o começo da jornada de Jack and Rebecca Pearson que são pais de três bebês: Kate, Kevin e Randall. Randall é adotado ainda no hospital quando o terceiro filho de Rebecca não resiste ao parto, e diante de um impulso emocional, Jack decide por adotar o pequeno bebê negro que havia sido deixado na porta de um corpo de bombeiros durante a madrugada. Esse plot apenas esbarra na poeira fina que a série mostra em seus primeiros momentos, não só vemos inúmeros momentos da vida dos três irmãos e seu crescimento como vemos a saga de amor de Jack e Rebecca além da avassaladora morte de Jack que transforma a vida de toda a família para todo o resto de suas vidas. Compreendendo que a série tem em média 45 minutos por episódio e cada temporada tem mais de 12 episódios, você pode concluir que esse tanto de informação (que é mostrada logo nos primeiros episódios da primeira temporada não são praticamente NADA do que você estará prestes a ver com o desenrolar da série).
A intenção desse post é exatamente reafirmar que essa é no mínimo uma das maiores e melhores séries de todos os tempos, com atuação, roteiro, construção, direção impecável e vem tornando-se mais forte a cada episódio que se assiste. Existem mergulhos profundos e absurdos na vida de Kevin, de Kate, de Randall e de tantos outros personagens que estão ali em volta da estrutura que forma a vida dessas pessoas, e que nos faz tornar-se sensível para compreender que a vida de cada pessoa é um universo extremamente complexo e rico em detalhes, que cada humano nessa terra vive suas dores e imperfeições, mas também suas alegrias. Não por acaso a série é tão premiada e resistiu ao tempo e mesmo ao covid (nessa última temporada). Atualmente está disponível no Amazon Prime.
