"Mortal Kombat". Unlike other works from the 90s it is more detailed film, whose purpose is to capture a serious product. In the opening scene, it's clear that you will dominate the tone of the entire movie (not without its ups and downs), and you will handle the story and characters in a competent and acceptable way.
Without telling a great backstory, the director reached the film's highest point in the battle and its pace. It will be the joy of the fans to show the various strengths and characteristics of the fighters. Most of the characters are well represented in character and appearance. The costumes are very faithful to the original work and some non-conflicting CGIs, making full use of their different powers, under normal circumstances, using saturated colors to highlight them in soft tones. He has a frenetic pace that does not fall, although he fails in the last third, sometimes he feels crushed.

In the original story of the video game (the warrior who represents the earth in the Mortal Kombat tournament must protect the earth from the enemies of the outside world) a new character written specifically for the film, the mixed martial arts player Cole Young (Hybrid of arts martial) This is a negative point of the plot and his family history, because Lewis's acting skills are very poor and his dramatic approach is not beyond the ordinary.
Fortunately, they didn't put the entire focus of the movie on this. At the same time, they are introducing the rest of the warriors, focusing on Sub-Zero (as some kind of hitman) and the war with the Scorpion clan. summed up as a promising prologue.
Every time these two characters appear, they will be updated. Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero is the most powerful character in the movie, fearless and intimidating. The scorpion played by Hiroyuki Sanada exudes inner pain and desire for revenge. Other characters that appear and carry weight are: Sonia and Jax from the Special Forces (correct but not highlighted), Kano as an obnoxious and talkative mercenary (brings comic moments and credits his mistakes).
They stand out:
Liu Kang and Kong Lao - As an Earth Warrior Training Guide (correct, excel in battle).
Raiden - As a master of etiquette, he generally seems to give orders to Shang Zong (always threatening, but without emotion), and other apparently almost the same extra people.

In short, Simon McQuoid knew how to respect the source material a good dose of well-managed fights, well-developed characters and winks from game fans with the characteristic lines of dialogue and combat movements, a hard-hitting soundtrack and a lot of gore. I did not expect much and the truth when I saw it I felt satisfied.
