It is a drama fantasy movie based on the film Death Takes a Holiday which in turn is one of the adaptations of the Italian film La Morte In Vacanza. It stars the incredible actor Anthony Hopkins as William Parrish and the handsome Brat Pitt as Joe Black.

William Parrish is a successful multi-millionaire businessman who owns his own communications agency. He is about to celebrate his 65th birthday. Suddenly in the middle of a dinner with his family he meets this mysterious young man who turns out to be the personification of death, everything becomes confusing and quite interesting at the same time.

William Parrish es un exitoso empresario multimillonario dueño de su propia agencia de comunicaciones. Esta por celebrar 65 años. De pronto a mitad de una cena con su familia conoce a este misterioso joven que resulta ser la personificación de la muerte, todo se torna confuso y a la vez totalmente interesante.

The quality of the acting presented in this film is hard to match, the plot is excellent and it is develops in a unique and very attractive way. Despite being a film that is focused on death, it is fascinating how much life can be valued and how we see it after we are sure it will end.

La calidad de actuación de esta película es difícil de igualar, la trama es excelente se desarrolla de una manera singular y muy atractiva. A pesar de ser una película que esta enfocada en la muerte, es fascinante todo lo que se puede llegar a valorar la vida y como la vemos después de estar seguros de que acabará.

Taking William as his guide (with the excuse that his life is extraordinary,) Joe begins to live like a mortal, following Will to work, relating to the people around him and those he loves. Although William is often overwhelmed by the situation, he manages to move on the best he can.

Tomando a William como su guía (con la excusa de que su vida es extraordinaria), Joe empieza a vivir como un mortal, siguiendo a Will al trabajo, relacionándose con las personas de su entorno y los que ama. Things start to get even more complicated when the mysterious man Joe, falls in love with William's youngest daughter Susan (with whom he has an almost enviable relationship) and although it can be disturbing that someone is associated with death, their love turns out to be quite beautiful and pure.

La cosa se empieza a complicar aún más cuando el misterioso hombre Joe, se enamora de Susan la hija menor de William (con la que tiene una relación casi envidiable) y aunque resulte perturbador que alguien esté asociado con la muerte, su amor resulta ser bastante hermoso y puro.

At first Joe was very curious about Susan, he would suddenly appear to her at work or they would just meet often without planning it, she would try in vain to let him know that she was already taken, but he didn't seem to mind it at all. So things escalate until something comes up between them. William strongly disapproves, yet Joe ignores him, or so it seems.

Al principio Joe estaba muy curioso por Susan, se le aparecía de pronto en el trabajo o simplemente se encontraban seguido sin planearlo, ella intentaba en vano hacerle saber que ya estaba con alguien más, pero a él no parecía importarle en lo absoluto. Así las cosas van escalando hasta que surge algo entre ellos. William lo desaprueba rotundamente, aún así a Joe le hace caso omiso o eso parece.

Susan is full of questions that Joe can't and doesn't know how to answer, they know so little about each other and yet the feelings persist. Joe learns an infinite number of lessons as mortal on earth, implying that now that he knows so much about humans, his work, which to him was of little importance, turns out to have a lot of meaning and makes him realize how complicated it was going to be to do his job from now on.

Susan esta llena de preguntas que Joe no puede ni sabe como contestar, saben tan poco el uno del otro y aun así los sentimientos persisten. Joe aprende infinidades de lecciones en su estadía en la tierra, dando a entender que ahora que sabe tanto de los humanos su trabajo que para él no tenía mucha importancia, resultó tener mucho significado y lo hace caer en cuenta de lo complicado que iba hacer desde ahora cumplir su labor.

This movie is full of twists, glamorous scenery, glitzy living and life lessons. The actors are top notch and the plot never ceases to be interesting, from the first moment it surprises you, both the mysterious and fantasy part, and also everything else related to love and betrayal.

Esta película esta llena de giros, de escenarios muy glamorosos, de una vida ostentosa y muchas lecciones de vida. Los actores son de primera y la trama nunca deja de ser interesante, desde el primer momento te sorprende, tanto la parte misteriosa y fantasiosa como todo lo demás relacionado con el amor y la traición.

Despite being an old movie (1998) I'm sure you will love it if you haven't seen it yet, and if you already did it, you won't be able to control your desire to watch it again. It's beautiful, mysterious, fascinating, super interesting from beginning to end, definitely a movie to watch more than once.
