The Perks of Being a Wallflower is an American teen drama film based on the novel of the same name. The peculiar yet cool thing about this movie is that the same author of the book (Stephen Chbosky) wrote and directed it. It stars the incredibly talented actor Logan Lerman as Charlie, who throughout the film writes to an unknown friend about his high school experiences.

Las Ventajas de ser Invisible es un filme americano de drama adolescente, basado en la novela que lleva el mismo nombre. Lo peculiar y la vez genial de esta película es que el mismo escritor del libro (Stephen Chbosky) fue quien la escribió y dirigió. Protagonizada por el increíblemente talentoso actor Logan Lerman como Charlie, quién a lo largo de la película le escribe a un amigo desconocido sobre sus experiencias de la secundaria.

Charlie is a "weird" kid to say the least, he lacks social skills, is very awkward and withdrawn, and suffers from a condition stemming from a traumatic event of his past, when he was just a little boy. Despite all his problems he manages to connect with someone, one of his teachers who considers him an exceptional student. Yes, it's a step forward, but it's still hard to accept your teacher as your only "friend."

Charlie es un chico "raro" por decir lo mínimo, carece de habilidades sociales, es muy penoso y retraído, además de sufrir una condición por consecuencia de un evento traumático de su pasado, cuando a penas era un pequeño. A pesar de todos sus problemas logra conectar con alguien, uno de sus maestros que lo considera un alumno excepcional. Sí, es un paso hacía adelante, pero aún así es difícil aceptar a tu profesor como tu único "amigo".

Logan's performance was great, he is one of those actors that makes me feel like he is not acting at all, he gets involved with his character to such an extent that you can say he personifies his character, and even though I know I'm watching a movie and it is acting, it gives the impression that he is like that, only a few actors achieve such a feat.

La actuación de Logan fue estupenda, es de esos actores que me hacen sentir que no esta actuando para nada, se involucra con su personaje a tal punto que se puede decir que lo personifica, y aunque sé que estoy viendo una película y es actuación, da la impresión de que él es así, solo unos pocos actores logran tal hazaña.

Charlie throughout the movie joins the group of two friends, a somewhat unrestrained guy named Patrick, and the experienced and beautiful girl named Sam. They become quite close. Charlie likes Sam but she already has a rather stormy relationship with her boyfriend, so Charlie meets another somewhat gothic girl and they begin a rather unsatisfying relationship for both parties, the classic relationship that happens to not be alone, to fill a void or the "sure, why not?" type.

Charlie a lo largo de la película se une al grupo de dos amigos, un chico algo desenfrenado llamado Patrick y a la experimentada y hermosa chica llamada Sam. Se vuelven bastante cercanos. A Charlie le gusta Sam pero ella ya tiene una relación bastante tormentosa con su novio, entonces Charlie conoce a otra chica algo gótica y empiezan una relación bastante insatisfactoria para ambas partes, la clásica relación que se da para no estar solos, para llenar un vacío o la del tipo "claro, ¿por qué no?".

I find fascinating the movies where you see the aftermath that a traumatic event can leave, especially if it is a story based on young people. These types of movies always leave us thinking, the script is very well written, the acting great and the adaptation even better, obviously all this is thanks to what I mentioned before, it is not common for the writer of the book to direct the movie based on his work.

Encuentro fascinantes las películas donde muestran las secuelas que puede dejar un evento traumático, especialmente si es una historia basada en personas jóvenes. Este tipo de películas siempre nos dejan pensando, el guión esta muy bien escrito, la actuación grandiosa y la adaptación aún mejor, obviamente todo esto es gracias a lo que mencioné antes, no es común que el escritor del libro dirija la película basada en su obra.

One of the most attractive things about this story, is that it touches on delicate issues that in turn are quite common and of interest, in the three main characters. Charlie the typical withdrawn boy who finds it hard to make friends, is good in class and is very loyal, Patrick the wild boy who deals with all the implicit problems for being gay, and finally Sam, the beautiful and cool girl who always chooses the wrong boy who doesn't deserve her. All of them with their flaws and all, united by a past that gives meaning to their imperfections and for the same reason they are so relatable.

Una de las cosas más atractivas de esta historia, es que toca temas delicados que a su vez son bastante comunes y de interés, en los tres personajes principales. Charlie el típico chico retraído que le cuesta hacer amigos, es bueno en clases y es muy leal, Patrick el chico que lidia con todos los problemas implícitos solo por ser homosexual y por último Sam, la chica hermosa y genial que siempre escoge al chico incorrecto que no se la merece. Todos ellos con sus defectos y todo, unidos por un pasado que le da sentido a sus imperfecciones y por la misma razón son tan afines.

I have to say that I identify myself with the main character Charlie more than I would like to admit, that's why this movie turned out to be very special for me, it felt very personal to a certain extent. This story reaffirmed the idea that I have always had in mind, it is something that has become very clear to me, for some reason people who have a past with certain difficult experiences are attracted to each other. Many say that we "broken" people identify with each other, and it couldn't be more true, the level of connection you reach with someone who went through something similar or equally difficult is remarkable.

Tengo que admitir que me identifico con el protagonista Charlie más de lo que me gustaría reconocer, por eso esta película resultó ser muy especial para mí, se sintio muy personal hasta cierto punto. Esta historia reafirmó la idea que siempre tengo en mente, es algo que me ha quedado muy claro, por al alguna razón las personas que tenemos un pasado con ciertas experiencias difíciles nos atraemos. Muchos suelen decir que las personas "rotas" nos identificamos entre nosotros, y no puede ser más cierto, el nivel de conexión que alcanzas con alguien que pasó por algo similar o igual de difícil es notable.

Another good thing you will find in this movie is some great quotes that will possibly influence the way you look at some aspects of your life. It is a movie with a lot of drama, endless life lessons, very dark pasts, unfavorable situations and meaningful as well as beautiful phrases, in other words, a film that you have to see because there is a lot to learn from it, besides being excellent.

Otra cosa beneciciosa que encontrarás en esta película, son ciertas frases grandiosas que posiblemente influenciaran en la forma que ves algunos aspectos de tu vida. Es una película con mucho drama, infinidades de lecciones de vida, pasados muy oscuros, situaciones desfavorables y frases significativas al igual que hermosas, en otras palabras, un filme que tienes que ver porque de el hay mucho que aprender, además de ser excelente.
