Today I want to talk about the highly recommended series, Why Women Kill. Created by Mark Cherry, this series is a unique blend of comedy and drama, based on a concept that many have not seen before.
The series follows three women, each living in a different time period and each with a unique story to tell. All three of the women are expeced to commit murder and to tell you the truth each of them really has reasons for this. But if they’ll really do or who of them will really do… everything is not such simple. So each of the stories is unique and compelling, and viewers are taken on a journey that reveals the motivations behind the women’s crimes.
The story is very original. The action takes place in the same house but in different eras. And although we can observe how society's attitude to certain phenomena changes, such things as love, passion, greed, betrayal remain unchanged.
One of the women, Beth Ann, is a housewife in the 1960s whose husband is having an affair. She is driven by a desperate desire to reclaim her power and regain control of her life. Her story is a powerful example of the lengths some women will go to in order to protect themselves. But... it all finds its gradual development. First we see before us a very soft woman, an exemplary housewife. Is it possible that she committed murder? And how strong should be the motive for this... To be honest, it was her story that came as a complete surprise to me.
The second woman, Simone is an elegant and effervescent woman, the picture of urbane confidence. She moves through the world as if it were a delightful movie starring herself, smugly superior and a woman for whom appearances mean everything. She loves shopping and throwing parties, and seemed to be living a blissful life with her indulgent husband, Karl, who thought she was simply fabulous. But again something went wrong…
Taylor is a modern-day representation of female strength and independence. Her intelligence, determination and success as a lawyer are evident, while her ability to be in control of her emotions is admirable. Despite her alpha status, Taylor is fiercely protective of her husband and is content to let him take the lead.
Why Women Kill is an incredibly compelling and powerful series that offers a unique perspective on the motivations behind female murder. The stories are captivating and the characters are deeply engaging. It is a must-watch for anyone interested in exploring the psychological motivations that drive women to commit murder.
