When I saw the word Isekai on my favorite manga website I immediately click the button and proceed to chapter 1. Isekai Shikkaku / No Longer Human…In Another World is not your typical Isekai series at some points and I ended up binge-reading it and after reaching the last part I craved to have more.
Plot:
Dazai Ozamu, which will be later called Sensay is a writer that got transported to another world. He, together with his lover-disciple Satchan planned to commit double suicide by jumping in the violent flowing river but as we all know which is the somehow generic plot for the Isekai series truck-kun did its job and he hit our MC prior to committing the act.

He was then welcomed by Annette, a priestess from the church who summoned the MC and informed him that he is the chosen hero that will save their world by killing the Demon lord. In some Isekai series that I had read the MC will be in a state of confusion and even rejection of what is happening but Sensay is different. He did not accept the fact that he got transported and got disappointed that their double suicide did not push through. He tried to commit suicide multiple times throughout the series but all got useless. After realizing that he is not the only one who got transferred to the other world his goal becomes clearer. Find Satchan and then continue with their plan of committing double suicide.
I think that is all I can share with the plot as I might give out more spoilers to the series.
Character:
There are multiple characters in the series, but I guess let's just focus on our main character in this review.

Little HP close to zero isn't a shocker already to me as there are some MCs from a different manga that has read such as Munchkin but the most interesting part of Sensay is his permanent debuff which is Deadly Poison.
To where did he get this debuff? It came from his multiple abuse of Calmotin an over-the-counter drug that has been used by multiple Japanese from 1950-1975 for suicide an article that I have found.
Going back to Sensay, his debuff is also his main weapon as each time that an enemy will try to absorb his life force or blood deadly poison will rush over killing the enemy immediately.
Aside from being inclined toward suicidal thoughts, our MC is known to be sensitive to the emotions of other people given that he is a writer by profession he seeks to understand characters further and goes to certain lengths to verify what their motives are.
At first, I thought that his Divine Power was poison immunity and attacks but his Divine Power is related to his craft which is still unknown to everyone. Some say it is a full buff, some even say it is a debuff. But from what I understand so far, his power is different depending on the enemies.

Side Characters Back Stories:
Each supporting side characters have its own back story, they are not just recruited out of convenience compared to the usual route of the Isekai series. For example, Annette she joined the party because she is worried about how weak Sensay is as she only saw her 1 HP and the beast folk Tama as she was saved by Sensay accidentally when he was committing his favorite sport which is suicide.
Conclusion:
As for me, I will give it a rating of 8.5/10 as I have enjoyed reading the chapters the story so far is quite good as it doesn't only tackle the usual route of the Isekai series wherein they need to fight the Demon-lord and then create a massive harem but rather it is a journey on finding oneself. There are characters that you may find annoying at first, but in the next chapter, you will find some importance in why they are being created that way. Oh btw, Sensay isn't the only character that got Isekai'd on this series there are a ton of characters that are other worlders ( Japanese) that are summoned too! This isn't as serious as it is too as I find some pages funny especially when Sensay will be trying to commit his favorite act and when he received the gift from the world tree.
If you want to give it a try please do so. In my next post, I will be sharing another series that is not related to Isekai but rather inspired by the Sengoku Period so if you are also into part genre let me know.
