I heard a lot about this movie but, for some reason, it was left in my watchlist for quite sometime. Yesterday I picked it up and it was a very good surprise, I must say.
It all starts with a woman driving up to her home and stopping by to stare at three rotten billboards - which are so decadent than you can hardly understand what they were advertising.
She has the idea of paying for the three billboards to send a message to the Police Chief of the small town of Ebbing, Missouri, asking why the case of her daughter's death remains unsolved...
This apparently small act is like a chess move which leads to a big fuss in the little town, dividing the population between those who support her attitude... and those who think she had no right to do such a thing. Emotions start flying high and, motivated by revenge, a series of events occur which bring sheer chaos to the tiny village.
After a short time, what used to be a small and peaceful little town... suddenly looks like a battleground. 😲

While there are a lot of fun moments, the movie is more a drama than a comedy. Still, those amusing scenes give a special touch to the story and make it very entertaining to watch. The story is very believable and makes us feel like it could happen in real life, if the circumstances justified it...
Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell are the main characters in the story and they play their parts really well, keeping you glued to the screen until the very end.
I rate this with a 8 out of 10. All things considered, it is a very good movie which won't bore you for a single minute. You'll want to keep watching it until its conclusion...
