You may remember how I made a post a week ago about my first (positive) thoughts on "Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story", a new Netflix production.
As a reminder, it's a biographical crime drama mini series based on the life of Jeffrey Dahmer:
Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (/ˈdɑːmər/; May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994), also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial killer and sex offender who committed the murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Many of his later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts—typically part of the skeleton. source
I just finished the last episode and it's safe to say this is by far one of the best Netflix productions ever. One of those rare gems in their endless sea of poop. 💩💩
I really can't think of something that I didn't like, this was imo an exceptional watch.
The acting was brilliant and everyone casted did a great job in their role. As for the main star, Evan Peters I think he did a great job portraying the weird psycho killer without trying "too much" and just being...natural.
The story is told perfectly and with a great pace starting from childhood, to the crimes, to the trial and eventual death of our hero, lmao. After reading the Wikipedia page I also think it stayed quite true to the actual facts without too much overdramatization or whatever just for the shake of tv.
This is a Netflix production so as expected the series took some political angles, like white privilege, racism etc etc but I think it was quite fair and true to how thinks were back then, so I won't deduct any points. Actually the opposite 😂
All in all a great, creepy, scary and often disgusting watch. Highly recommended, 8.5/10 from me!
