Equilibrium (2002) a fabulous action science fiction thriller with a rather original story.
The film presents an alternative story of the future of humanity. A futuristic world, in a dictatorial regime that completely eliminated the war. It is interesting that weird form of leadership imposes strict rules on its citizens, trying to suppress those emotions characteristic of the human being. Therefore, books, art and music are completely forbidden, and feelings, in general the expression of these emotional states are considered crimes that are punishable by death.
**Synopsis** >*In order to monitor compliance with the law, a special group of police officers called "Tetragrammaton Priests" have been appointed to eliminate all those who break the law. Priest John Preston (Bale) is a first-rate government agent responsible for destroying all those who oppose the rules. After giving up his dose of Prozium, a mind-numbing drug ( a drug that affects the mind, which suppresses the emotional state ), Preston trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, begins to realize that things are not as they seem.** **Honestly, honestly ... honestly, i can't explain how such a terrifying idea could cross that writer's mind. Ok, so i was shivering just thinking about the fact that in the distant future the descendants, of our descendants will catch such times when they simply don't have the freedom to enjoy reading a certain book, possibly a comic book ... it will be considered to be a crime and above all that the punishment received will be the death penalty. Ok, the creator of this film, tries to present a rather bleak perspective of a paradoxical future with what we live in today - ok, ok ... just thinking about the fact that somewhere in this vast world in the reality in which we live, would be there an occult / a group that maybe somewhere in the shadow of the present lived by us, rooted - gives rise some laws similar to those in the film i recommend. So, what would it be like !! ?? I guess Hitler will be considered just a little kid in time - pretty sad (okay, hopefully it won't happen, something like that).**Finally let's try to go further - No matter what you think, Equilibrium is a super, super good movie that i recommend with confidence, honestly a movie that gives us a lot, a lot to think about. Regardless of the future of humanity we are heading into, we human beings have a duty to preserve and to protect our dignity, freedom and love for what we truly are.
At the end of this post i can say that from my point of view, the idea of the film seems to be very interesting and original, the film was really good, as an action but also as suspense, expected upheavals and even "touches your soul a little". ..Equilibrium, will remain one of my favorite movies, which i recommend with confidence - it is worth that precious time given to watch it.
