Deepika Padukone as Queen Padmavati is married to a high-born king Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor). They together lead a happy life until a Sultan, Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) hears of Padmavati's beauty and turns an obsessive lover.
