Is it a Mason's growing up movie?
Mason's mother and father (Ethan Hawke) got married when they were young, but they didn't get along and they divorced. Unlike his dad, who doesn't live his settled life, his strong mom lives with Mason and his sister Samantha.
Dad comes once a week to go camping with the kids, watch baseball, and play bowling. After divorce from his father, the mother adds her studies to becoming a professor, and in the process tried two marriages, but both failed. From a Mason's point of view, it calmly depicts family relationships and the growth process of a child.
Watching a movie that shows Little Mason into adulthood, how can actors of all ages look alike as if a child really grew up? And how did Ethan Hawke make it look like he's really aging with such natural makeup?
It did... ๐
It is said that the director (Richard Linklater) had the same actor act while filming this film for 12 years. So the actors were really getting older and getting older. The movie is a masterpiece.
There were also many memorable lines-
On Facebook and in reality, everyone lives with their feet on both sides. Both are dry... Anyway, life goes on.
You say seize the moment. I think we're caught up in the moment.
Up until now, I lived by collecting everything, but now I have to live by throwing them away one by one.
I think it's a must watch for everyone because the makers definitely put everything into it and tried something extraordinary in cinema history. It's such a good movie that it doesn't get boring at all. Ethan Hawke is cool.
