Review of the movie "Titan"

Review by @vikfrei · 3076d · of Titan

Hello! Today I decided to write a short review about the adventures of the naked Fantômas, or rather the film Titan. The Western press has already criticized him and now he has come to us. When I saw the poster, at first I thought that the new Avatar came out, well, let's go!

Titan is a fantastic drama with elements of a thriller that was put by a little-known German director Lennart Ruff. Joint production of the tape involved studios in the UK, Spain and the US, and the distribution was taken care of by the well-known service Netflix. I did not find a budget for the studio.

The plot of the film unfolds around the program to introduce a superman, which will ensure the survival of our species. The development of this program began in connection with the banal reason that has long been the most convenient stamp in sci-fi films on the theme of the cosmos: mankind has exhausted the Earth's resources, the ecology is over and four horsemen of the apocalypse are already harnessing horses. The solution to the problem is always the same - one of the planets was slaughtered, so you have to move to another planet. Fortunately in the solar system there is a satellite of Saturn with the atmosphere, only here there is minus 180 degrees and the atmosphere is too toxic. Therefore, it is urgent to remove a new species of a person so that it does not freeze and breathes methane. Actually on the process of creating such a creature, the entire film is built.

For an hour and a half guinea pigs are jabbed in the ass, punctured with pills and do the surgery. I saw no real science fiction. In general, you know, everything here at the level of references is said that soon the Earth will come to an end, but in fact they do not show a single example. No frame, which would give the viewer at least some visual information about the state of the planet and society. Most of the war, hunger and cataclysms exist only in words, while on the screen reigns ordinary. Show footage with normal woodlands and private houses with swimming pools. They say that the experiment is based on breakthrough discoveries in the field of genetics, but in reality it all boils down to fashionable syringes, sham pills and a grotesque drawing (such as a chain of DNAs in a notebook and a diagram showing the evolution of a person in the same frame). In general, the development of ideas and their implementation on the screen somewhere at the level of a kindergarten.

And this I'm not talking about thousands of stupid conventions and assumptions. On the supersecreted base easily penetrate strangers, the guards quietly walk and drink beer under the shish kebabs. Stopupovo in these conditions are the most dangerous inhumane experiments that can lead to unpredictable consequences. Yes, and hell with them, with all of these assumptions, most importantly, the film is completely devoid of meaning and logic! The only idea, which is here somehow designated, is the salvation of mankind. Very fresh and unheard of idea, do not you think? And until the end is not clear: the salvation of mankind as a species, or the salvation of specific people who live at the moment. Whatever it was, even this thought futilely stretches at the end of the film. Personally, I still do not understand how a lonely naked Fantomas on a distant satellite can save the human race.

As for the production of the visual series and other nishtyaks, which science fiction usually pleases, there's nothing to say either. When watching the movie, I literally felt the skin how cheap it was, how much the creators were constrained in the media. Especially it is felt in those shots where you still had to give out some kind of fiction. At such moments, all show a glimpse, as if the operator on the sly removed from the table with such angles from which nothing can be disassembled. In the film, even the ubiquitous graph is almost none, but in the plus it obviously does not go to him. It is enough to look at the makeup, thanks to which Sam Worthington at the end mutated into the modern incarnation of Fantômas.

In short, devastating ratings on all major film resources are well-deserved. Do not want to scold unless the actors who managed to more or less look good in an environment full of lack of grace. Taylor Schilling even managed to force the drama in places, but the rest simply did not stand out in either good or bad. In fact, the idea of the film was interesting, but here's the realization ... It feels like they just jotted down on a napkin and decided to shoot it right away. With the ending, I just burned! It is the most awful, it turned out to be an incredibly stupid movie. If someone expects to see the cosmo-action, then break off, there is no action at all! It's just a miserable drama about anything, do not take it into your head.

Thank you for attention!
