🎬"TRAIN TO BUSAN" (Busanhaeng, 2016) - a bad day to celebrate a birthday

In recent years Zombie themes have been tightly occupied by two TV series: "The Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead". If you suddenly do not know about them, then in the first show, the characters survive in the open space somewhere in the US, and in the second - first in the open ocean, and then somethere in Mexico. In the future, by the way, the creators promise that the characters of the two TV series will meet.

The movie "Train to Busan" was breath of fresh air for fans of the zombie apocalypse. To be honest, now I'm very sorry that I did not go to the cinema and watch it on the big screen.

Soo-an on her birthday asks an eternally busy father to take her to her mother living in Busan. The father agrees reluctantly. However, the everyday trip on the train turns into survival.

I must say I'm delighted with the movie. The main task of the director Yeon Sang-ho was to find out what is more important in the process of survival: to save oneself or to show humanism? And I really enjoyed it watching the choices people make. In "The Walking Dead" or its spin-off, the life of a member of the team always comes to the fore, which often leads to tragic consequences. Here, the heroes easily slam the door in front of the passenger of the train to save still living people. And the idea of ​​shoving both the living and the dead into one train seems to be a genius!

The second point, which was pleasantly pleased - quick and ruthless zombies). Again, in "The Walking Dead" they barely walk. Here, zombies are like sprinters running to reward. We feel completely that these zombies really want fresh meat! They can not be killed with one finger and heroes are not untouchable as in "The Walking Dead". Affected flesh not to chop off a machete, a zombie bite means a doom.

In fact, "Train to Busan" is a pretty classic movie on a zombie theme: a group of people is getting smaller with the passage of time. In addition to conflict with the zombies, people contrive to also conflict within themselves. There is a very traditional format of zombies, who love only one thing in the world - eat human flesh. And there is a chase, as in the good old westerns, only in this case the living run from the deads.

By moments I was squeezed into an armchair of tension and not knowing if the main characters will be rescued or not. And the idea with the train made me remember another cool movie - "Snowpiercer". It is also South Korean and I really had thought that "Snowpiercer" is a continuation of "Train to Busan", but the final dissuade me. Who did not look "Snowpiercer" and loves post-apocalypse, then it is for you.

The creators of the film managed to adequately embody Eastern philosophy, a deep drama in the blockbuster. Usually Asian movies resemble an art film, here are they easily managed to get away from it and make a great movie for both fans: Asian films and who want to chew popcorn under the constant action.

By the way, for all its fantasy, the movie is not perceived as a pure fiction, a fairy tale. The situation is something vital, you sit on the train, you go, and in the city incomprehensible disorders begin, panic, people stop responding to calls ..

There are negative moments, but they do not spoil the impression of the film. I note that I did not really like the music and spoiled the impression of the final, but it is the director's vision.

And in general, it's a great movie! I very much regret that I did not see it on the big screen.
