Los cristianos luego de ganar la batalla final, por fin obtienen una gran paz en toda Inglaterra, parece que los Vikingos están totalmente debilitados, no existe una gran amenaza y no hay un líder que pueda atacarlos nuevamente. El joven Uhtred aprovecha para viajar hacia el Norte, buscando la recuperación de su trono, su gran anhelada tierra que fue arrebatada cuando tan solo era un niño y que hasta el momento no ha podido obtener. Claro esto comienza luego de una trágica perdida, un hombre que lo acompaño desde su nacimiento fallece y el dolor que deja en Uhtred es muy grande, tanto que lo hace reflexionar en cada batalla y decisión que intenta tomar.

Las actitudes vikingas de Uhtred le nublan un poco el juicio, yendo a una batalla que fácilmente pueden perderla y el padre Beocca decide acompañarlo. Beocca ha sido un fiel amigo de Uhtred, siempre lo apoyo en todo momento y nuevamente no quería dejarlo solo. Cuando llegan al reino de Aelfric, rápidamente se dan cuenta que no esta solo, pues el hijo del rey había llegado con muchas tropas y ahora su batalla estaba sumamente complicada. Uhtred como gran guerrero confía en sus habilidades, también en sus hombres fuertes, pero el resultado no es el esperado y llega la muerte de un hombre importante en la vida de Uhtred.
Parece que el destino de Uhtred no es conquistar Bebbanburg, aun no será el rey de las tierras que tanto merece y psicológicamente el joven Uhtred se cae a pedazos. Lo que no sabe es que mientras el se encuentra lejos, una gran guerra se aproxima en Wessex, muy cerca de las tierras de la reina Etelfleda, pues Cnut regresa al ataque con su esposa Brida y necesitan de la ayuda del gran guerrero Uhtred que siempre salva Inglaterra. La paz esta llegando a su fin, los Vikingos retoman la fuerza y dentro de poco vendrá otra gran guerra de suma importancia.

Las tierras de Tettenhall quedan desprotegidas luego de un gran plan de Cnut, haciendo que el rey Aethelred se marche sin dejar protección y la reina Etelfleda también se encuentra lejos. Aquí las tropas de Cnut junto a Brida logran acabar con los habitantes, un acto sumamente cruel y dominan el territorio en busca de seguir conquistando mas en Inglaterra. El joven Uhtred prometió que siempre protegería a la reina Etelfleda y cuando se entero rápidamente llego hacia su paradero. Después de mucho tiempo llegaba otra batalla, pero no tenían hombres suficientes y necesitaban la ayuda del rey Eduardo.
Eduardo es el hermano de Etelfleda, pero no tiene la experiencia necesaria como rey, así que no tiene claro si ayudar a su hermana, piensa que será arriesgado una batalla contra Cnut y Uhtred inventa un plan para sobrevivir. Ganando un poco de tiempo, Aethelred se entera del ataque a su tierra, por lo que decide volver con todo su ejercito, pero la batalla contra su reina Etelfleda estaba a punto de comenzar y estaba casi todo perdido. Brida es una vikinga que tiene una gran mentalidad de batalla, pero Cnut lo domina el odio, lo que viene siendo su gran desventaja y Uhtred aprovecha para sacar el máximo provecho de esa situación.
Arranca una gran batalla de mucha violencia, grandes hombres caen y en el medio de todo llegan dos tropas en ayuda de Etelfleda, lo que sin dudas es un milagro y retoman la ventaja perdida que tenían en hombres. Fue una guerra muy entretenida, los vikingos son muy fuertes, la mano derecha del rey Eduardo cae luchando y a Brida le ostenta un futuro de mucho sufrimiento. Para Cnut el destino fue mortal, enfrentándose fuertemente contra Uhtred, siendo una de las mejores peleas de la temporada y dejando un desenlace final muy interesante.

Esto desata gran tensión entre el rey Eduardo contra los mercios de Tettenhall, pues ellos desean colocar un joven en el reino, pero Eduardo no cree que sea lo mejor y comienza una leve disputa entre ellos mismos. El choque están fuerte que colocan prisionera a Etelfleda, siendo una completa locura y Uhtred tiene que salir huyendo con la hija de la reina. Eduardo quiere casar a la hija de la reina con un hombre maltratador, sin pensar que aun es una niña y no debería usarla para fines políticos.
Estos momentos son grandiosos, porque el rey Aethelred abre su corazón, se disculpa de Etelfleda por todos los daños ocasionado, aunque claramente esto sucede porque se avecina su muerte y siempre al final quieren cubrir todos sus pecados. Igual me gusto su actitud, ya que fue un personaje que provoca odio y como espectador quieres incluso que se salve ahora. La hija de la reina se enferma en el camino, ya que existe una gran enfermedad propagándose por todo Tettenhall y los días pasan sin todavía tener un nuevo rey. Cada vez que pasan los dias, mas planes organizan los mercios en contra de Eduardo y se debe tomar una decisión lo antes posible.
Para sorpresa de todos el rey Eduardo elige muy bien el nuevo gobernante, seria una persona en el cual todos confían, un guerrero que ha hecho historia y que seguramente todos deben saber de quien se trata. El guerrero acepta aunque no lo desea, pero después de unas palabras de la reina Etelfleda, esta persona decide un mejor plan y el nuevo gobernante será quien menos se espera. Lo que no saben es que llega un nuevo vikingo, hombre que se entera que Wessex esta sola, porque el rey Eduardo viajo con todas sus tropas hacia Tettenhall y Winchester ahora sera atacada por unos violentos vikingos que ostentan la ventaja.

I still liked her attitude, since she was a character that provokes hatred and as a viewer you even want her to be saved now. The queen's daughter gets sick on the way, as there is a great sickness spreading all over Tettenhall and the days go by without still having a new king. As the days go by, more and more plans are organized by the mercenaries against Edward and a decision must be made as soon as possible.
To everyone's surprise, King Edward chooses the new ruler very well, it would be a person in whom everyone trusts, a warrior who has made history and surely everyone must know who he is. The warrior accepts although he does not want it, but after a few words from Queen Etelfleda, this person decides a better plan and the new ruler will be the one who is least expected. Sigtryggr es el nombre del vikingo que amenaza Winchester, teniendo la compañía de Brida, mujer que fue rescatada prácticamente del infierno, porque estaba recibiendo un fuerte castigo y ahora tiene una sed de venganza muy fuerte. Fácilmente consiguen dominar Winchester, pues no había nadie defendiendo el palacio y el rey Eduardo con mucha furia intenta recuperar su pueblo. Lo que no saben los cristianos, es que este vikingo es diferente, no actúa de manera impulsiva, mas bien piensa muy bien sus ataques y estratégicamente resulta ser brillante.
Uhtred se da cuenta de la gran mentalidad del rival, por eso no desea atacarlo directamente, pero el rey Eduardo es muy joven, no comprende que es una mala decisión y realiza muchos intentos fallidos. Van muriendo muchos cristianos, parece que nada puede detener a los vikingos, además tienen unos rehenes muy importantes, personas valiosas para el rey Eduardo y para el joven Uhtred. Cuentan con todo a su favor, pero Uhtred viene al rescate de vuelta, sacrificando su cuerpo para ayudar a Inglaterra y se entera que Sigtryggr esta en busca de algo mas que solo plata.
Este vikingo no quiere dominar, mas bien desea negociar la paz, aunque teniendo mucha plata, tierras y espacio para conquistar en Inglaterra. El Rey Eduardo se lanza hacia la batalla, generando un enorme caos que esta por acabar todo Winchester, ocasionando que los muros puedan caerse y las tierras queden echas polvos. Esta batalla me gusto, Brida se reencuentra con Uhtred, hombre que siempre la amado, pero que no siguió su camino y tienen una pequeña pelea que deja mucha intriga por lo que vendrá a futuro. Al final se lleva acabo una negociación, pero hay un gran sacrificio de por medio, uno que va directamente ligado a Uhtred y tiene que volver aceptar el dolor por los cristianos.
La temporada 4 esta muy buena, pero hubo menos acción que las anteriores, esta vez hubo mucho mas drama, desarrollaron mas la historia de ciertos personajes y pienso que estuvo genial. El final deja una ventana abierta, pues un vikingo se va solo, hombre que seguramente volverá en poco tiempo y la guerra llegue otra vez a zonas cristianas. Jamás habrá una paz eterna dijo Uhtred y tiene toda la razón, siempre todo será momentáneo y estar alerta es lo mas aconsejable para no ser sorprendido. El sueño del difunto rey Alfredo parece cumplirse, la familia esta gobernando diferentes territorios, Uhtred por su parte recibe una gran tierra para gobernar, aunque su misión será volver a su trono de Bebbanburg, donde en algún momento regresara y ahora solo queda esperar el siguiente ataque de los vikingos.

I liked this battle, Brida is reunited with Uhtred, a man who always loved her, but did not follow her path and they have a little fight that leaves a lot of intrigue for what will come in the future. In the end a negotiation takes place, but there is a great sacrifice involved, one that is directly linked to Uhtred and he has to accept again the pain for the Christians.
Season 4 is very good, but there was less action than the previous ones, this time there was much more drama, they developed more the history of certain characters and I think it was great. The ending leaves an open window, as a Viking leaves alone, a man who will surely return in a short time and the war will reach Christian areas again. There will never be an eternal peace said Uhtred and he is absolutely right, everything will always be momentary and to be alert is the most advisable not to be surprised. The dream of the late King Alfred seems to be fulfilled, the family is ruling different territories, Uhtred for his part receives a great land to rule, although his mission will be to return to his throne of Bebbanburg, where at some point he will return and now it only remains to wait for the next attack of the Vikings.
