La paz duro muy poco en el reino de Wessex, a pesar que el rey Eduardo termino en excelentes términos con Sigtryggr, había escapado una persona que luego iba volver, seria Brida con el corazón lleno de maldad y con una sed de venganza muy grande. En el medio de esta traición se encuentra la hija del joven Uhtred, la pequeña Stiorra que se caso con el rey Sigtryggr y Brida desea causarle daño a Uhtred con su hija. Las tropas del joven Uhtred deben moverse rápidamente, comienza el desespero en el norte, sin saber que la reina Etelfleda tiene un problema gigante y con la amenaza de Brida se deja a un lado un anuncio crucial.
Mientras los vikingos están siendo traicionados por su propia gente, el reino de Eduardo también sufre de lo mismo, su consejero y mano derecha del rey comienza a conspirar en su contra, Eduardo no se imagina que esto pueda pasar y a sus espaldas crean un plan para dividir a los pueblos que tienen una relación de paz. El caos beneficia por completo Aethelhelm, abuelo del hijo del rey Eduardo quien tiene un deseo de poder muy grande, poco a poco sus deseos de maldad van cogiendo forma y se avecina una guerra creada por la traición de sus propias personas de confianza.
La traición prospera y comienza una pequeña guerra contra Brida, hay muchos muertos de por medio, personajes importantes que se habían ganado el cariño caen en batalla y la paz del rey Eduardo con Sigtryggr se rompe. Lograron la división que tanto buscaban, lo que genera un enfrentamiento mucho mas grande y al mismo tiempo Etelfleda padece de una enfermedad muy critica. El reino de mercia puede sufrir una fractura, ocasionando otro problema adicional a estas batallas que se avecinan y todo parece que va de mal en peor. El joven Uhtred no tiene el valor para acabar con la vida de Brida, momento muy duro porque tiene un gran vinculo con ella, pero es la mujer que causo daño a su propia familia y debe tomar una decisión importante contra este mal.

Ambos reyes quedan atrapados en el engaño, todo parece que se están atacando, pero en realidad es un juego malvado llevado a cabo, por Aethelhelm que tiene mucha influencia siendo el consejero del rey; además con toda su riqueza, puede comprar hombres y colocar en conflictos a dos pueblos que habían estado con mucha unión durante muchos años. El rey Eduardo sigue siendo joven para gobernar, comete muchas imprudencias, tantos errores por no pensar mejor las cosas y Sigtryggr con su corazón vikingo se llena de odio en una situación que requería mas sabiduría. El joven Uhtred viendo a su hija en peligro, van hacia donde el rey Eduardo para arreglar la confusión, pero es muy tarde y comienza un momento muy trágico de muertes.
La batalla tiene grandes momentos de pelea, pero concluye muy rápido gracias al joven Uhtred, aunque las consecuencias no quedan desapercibidas, Eduardo ejecuta una orden muy fuerte, iba a caer un líder de los vikingos y seria una ejecución que el propio Uhtred realiza como deseo del vikingo que termina cayendo. Muy triste porque se fue un gran guerrero, una persona que siendo vikinga nunca fue salvaje, mas bien tenia mucho amor en su corazón y por culpa de las manipulaciones tuvo que fallecer. El rey Eduardo obtiene mas poder, parece que el sueño de su padre Alfredo esta a punto de cumplirse, que seria gobernar toda Inglaterra por completo y solo queda una región para conseguirlo.
El rey Eduardo ya es consiente de la traición de su consejero, ahora debe buscarlo y acabar con todos los planes que tiene en mente. Lo que no sabe es que ya se encuentra lejos, esta en negociaciones con los escoceses y algo muy grande esta a punto de suceder. Secuestran a familiares del rey Eduardo, sangre también de la gran reina Etelfleda que Uhtred juro proteger y cuando se entera de lo sucedido tiene que accionar. El joven Uhtred se encuentra deprimido, su hija toma un rumbo que no es junto a el, pero tiene la noticia que los actos del consejero, están siendo llevados en el norte, justamente en Bebbanburg donde esta su casa, lugar que le pertenece por derecho y es la oportunidad perfecta para recuperar su tierra.

Las tropas de los escoceses están a punto de llegar a Bebbanburg, para luego ir atacar a Inglaterra, lugar donde esta el rey Eduardo junto a todos los cristianos, pero ellos logran enterarse rápidamente de todo el plan y la mejor opción es atacar primero. El joven Uhtred aconseja al rey Eduardo a ir de una vez hacia el norte, pero el rey no desea hacerlo, esta convencido en tomar otro rumbo y arriesgar la vida de sus familiares creando una división de tierras. No puede ser posible que su líder quiera dejar solo a su pueblo, a parte abandonar a su familia, pero el ejercito de mercia esta con Uhtred y se crea una pequeña rebelión en contra de los pensamientos de Eduardo.
La tensión es muy fuerte entre los cristianos, pero por las palabras de su esposa, mas su madre que apoyan a Uhtred, Eduardo apoya la decisión de viajar hacia Bebbanburg y el sueño de Uhtred estaba a punto de cumplirse. Derrotando a Aethelhelm junto a los escoceses y a su primo que ocupa el trono del norte, podrá recuperar su tierra y convertirse en el rey que debió ser desde niño. Mucho dolor a pasado el joven Uhtred en busca de esas tierras, grandes sacrificios apoyando a los cristianos, pero el momento mas esperado de su vida estaba llegando y su destino parece que efectivamente si se encontraba en el norte.
La batalla final comienza en el norte, jamás esperaron que el rey Eduardo llegara, lograron sorprender a todos en el norte, tal cual como Uhtred había aconsejado, pero el rey de escocia Constantino, tenia un plan guardado bajo la manga y se ingenio una gran estrategia en plena batalla. Todo se volcó en contra de los cristianos, Uhtred veía caer en pedazos su tierra, todas las esperanzas de gobernar su lugar por derecho, al parecer se venían abajo, aunque siempre ocurre un momento de salvación y fue un milagro cuando vio a su hija Stiorra con su ejercito de vikingos. Después de tantos años de lucha del joven Uhtred, había llegado el momento de gloria y el norte había sido tomado por el guerrero mas grande que ha tenido el pueblo cristiano.

By defeating Aethelhelm along with the Scots and his cousin who occupies the northern throne, he can regain his land and become the king he should have been as a boy. Much pain has passed the young Uhtred in search of those lands, great sacrifices supporting the Christians, but the most awaited moment of his life was coming and his destiny seems that indeed it was in the north.
The final battle begins in the north, they never expected King Edward to arrive, they managed to surprise everyone in the north, as Uhtred had advised, but the king of Scotland, Constantine, had a plan up his sleeve and he came up with a great strategy in the middle of the battle. Everything turned against the Christians, Uhtred saw his land fall to pieces, all the hopes of ruling his place by right, it seemed to fall apart, although there is always a moment of salvation and it was a miracle when he saw his daughter Stiorra with her army of Vikings. After so many years of struggle by young Uhtred, the moment of glory had come and the north had been taken by the greatest warrior the Christian people have ever had.

La quinta y última temporada hasta el momento, no defraudo en lo absoluto, me pareció que el drama estuvo muy bien llevado, ocurrieron muchas sorpresas y las batallas fueron muy entretenidas. Todo el desarrollo de Brida fue excelente, no resulto ser nada aburrido, tampoco pesado aunque fuera recurrente su aparición y eso fue gracias a que termino como debería de ser. Aethelstan que era un personaje que nadie tomaba en cuenta, cogió mucha relevancia en esta temporada y dejo grandes expectativas para lo próximo que venga.
Uhtred realizo un acuerdo con el rey Constantino para mantener las tierras a salvo, siendo lideradas por solo vikingos y dejando a un lado al pueblo cristiano. El rey Eduardo vio todo esto como traición, aunque Uhtred no pretende jamás atacar Inglaterra, simplemente el rey demostró que no tiene todo lo necesario para compartir esa posesión y el joven Uhtred en mi opinión tomo una excelente elección. Aquí podría ocurrir una guerra en el futuro, no me gustaría para nada, Uhtred ayudo mucho al pueblo cristiano, seguramente jamás desearía luchar en contra de ellos, pero si el rey fuerza un ataque, tendrá que hacerlo y fácilmente podría pasar porque Eduardo quedo molesto.
Todavía no se sabe si habrá sexta temporada, se habla de una posible película, pero debe haber alguna continuación, como termino no puede ser su final, hay mucho todavía que se puede desarrollar y que sea de gran interés. Quiero ver a Uhtred defendiendo Bebbanburg, también deseo observar el futuro de Aethelstan junto al rey Eduardo y saber que sucede con la pequeña Stiorra que tiene el mismo carácter guerrero que Uhtred. Por los momentos decir que la temporada es muy buena, sin dudas la mejor de todas y recomiendo mucho ver esta gran serie.

The fifth and last season so far, did not disappoint at all, I thought the drama was very well handled, there were many surprises and the battles were very entertaining. The whole development of Brida was excellent, it wasn't boring at all, it wasn't heavy either, even though her appearance was recurrent and that was thanks to the fact that it ended as it should be. Aethelstan, who was a character that nobody took into account, became very relevant in this season and left great expectations for the next one to come.
Uhtred made an agreement with King Constantine to keep the lands safe, being led by only Vikings and leaving aside the Christian people. King Edward saw all this as treason, although Uhtred never intended to attack England, the king simply showed that he did not have everything necessary to share that possession and young Uhtred in my opinion made an excellent choice. Here a war could happen in the future, I would not like it at all, Uhtred helped the Christian people a lot, surely he would never want to fight against them, but if the king forces an attack, he will have to do it and it could easily happen because Edward was upset.
It is not yet known if there will be a sixth season, there is talk of a possible movie, but there must be some continuation, as it can not be the end, there is still much that can be developed and be of great interest. I want to see Uhtred defending Bebbanburg, I also want to see the future of Aethelstan with King Edward and to know what happens with little Stiorra who has the same warrior character as Uhtred. For the moment I can say that the season is very good, undoubtedly the best of all and I highly recommend watching this great series.
