Luego de que el gran rey Alfredo haya triunfado en su batalla, obtiene un enorme poder en todo Wessex, pero lamentablemente comienza a sufrir de una grave enfermedad, poco a poco su salud va empeorando y eso motiva a los Vikingos para volver atacar. La paz jamás va perdurar, siempre llega el momento de otro ataque, por lo cual deben volver a prepararse y esta vez sucede lo impensado con el joven Uhtred. Vienen muchos conflictos que lo hacen alejarse, además le cae una maldición por medio de una bruja, personaje muy peculiar en esta temporada y junto a ella vienen desgracias.

La tercera temporada aumenta en capítulos, tenemos dos adicionales, lo cual serian 10 episodios y me encanta mucho que así sea. Esta mucho mejor que la temporada anterior, existe mas drama, vienen muchas traiciones, suceden diferentes batallas y mueren personajes que no imaginamos que iban a desaparecer. Sin duda alguna muy disfrutable, cada momento es completamente intrigante, todo es impredecible y la historia no recae por completo en Uhtred, situación que paso en la temporada 2 y que no me había gustado mucho, aquí en cambio encontramos pasajes importantes con diferentes personajes.

Comenzando el primer episodio, nos dejan ver una escena muy oscura y sangrienta. Aparece una mujer que antes no había sido vista, la cual rápidamente logra acabar con un guardia, luego se dirige hacia un ejercito y se puede apreciar que tiene alguna especie de dominio en los hombres. Skade se llama la mujer que tiene un gran poder hechicero, además es vidente y puede ver lo que va suceder en el futuro. El joven Uhtred es enviado a un pueblo, donde esta Skade asesinando a muchas personas, la intercepta y ella ejerce una maldición a Uhtred que comenzaría a molestar mucho su vida.
El joven Uhtred vivía un gran momento, se encontraba feliz con su esposa, estaba siendo super respetado por el rey Alfredo y tenia muchas tierras en su nombre. Poco a poco todo comenzó a caer, incluso su relación con Alfredo se vio muy comprometida, tuvo que salir rápidamente del reino, pues iba ser condenado y huyo para poder salvar su vida. Dé repente Uhtred no tenia nada, solo quedaba un destino hacia donde ir, y seria al lado de su hermano Ragnar que contaba con un ejercito vikingo a sus espaldas.
Las noticias de la mala salud del rey Alfredo, no tardaron mucho en llegar a zonas vikingas, entonces Ragnar se unió con su primo Cnut, para ir atacar a Wessex y terminar de derrocar al rey. Con Uhtred estando al lado de Ragnar, todo indicaba que Alfredo estaba totalmente desprotegido, su mejor guerrero no estaba para apoyarlo, pero Uhtred tenia que decidir, si va ir a pelear en contra de Alfredo siguiendo a su hermano, o si de lo contrario se va ir por su rumbo respetando al rey que lo ayudo en todo. Interesante porque la hija del rey también comienza hacer atacada, Uhtred juro lealtad en protegerla, todo estaba en su contra y no sabia que hacer para no abandonar a su hermano Ragnar.

Aethelwold es un personaje que poco a poco vas odiando mas, realmente vas a desear que le pase lo peor, tiene la misma pesadez de "arturito" de la casa de papel y un modo de manipular a todos como nadie. Su mayor deseo es ser el rey de Wessex, su padre fue el antiguo rey antes de Alfredo y siente que merecía ese puesto. Lo que pasa es que siempre ha sido un borracho, no tiene capacidad para liderar y no es un guerrero de batalla, claramente no estaba preparado para ser rey, pero su ambición es tan grande que comienza hablar mucho con los vikingos y detona todo para atacar en contra de Alfredo.
Logra entrar en el ejercito que comanda Ragnar junto a Cnut, hombres que van hacia Wessex y tienen un gran plan para terminar con Alfredo. Aethelwold tiene un conflicto con uno de los lideres, su vida corre peligro, pero la traición entre ellos mismos es grande, lo que genera un plan macabro para terminar con la vida de un líder vikingo y Aethelwold lo asesina mientras duerme. Este acontecimiento es sumamente inesperado, jamás pensé que uno de los personajes mas fuertes acabara muriendo y mas de la forma en que sucedió.
La muerte de este líder hace que todo cambie, ahora se invierten los roles y otro vikingo pasa al mando, mientras que Aethelwold va hacia Wessex, para intentar obtener información privilegiada y seguir con su gran manipulación y traicionar al rey Alfredo. Mientras sucede esto, Uhtred sigue lidiando con la maldición, la cual no sabe como superar y con Skade lejos de su vista, tiene que ir en busca de ella, porque todo a su alrededor sufre mucho y su vida igualmente corre peligro mientras la bruja siga con existiendo.

The death of this leader makes everything change, now the roles are reversed and another Viking takes command, while Aethelwold goes to Wessex, to try to get privileged information and continue with his great manipulation and betray King Alfred. While this happens, Uhtred is still dealing with the curse, which he does not know how to overcome and with Skade out of his sight, he has to go in search of her, because everything around him suffers a lot and his life is also in danger as long as the witch continues to exist.

En todo el camino se informan sobre como despojarse del tormento, pero para ello, deben estar cerca de la persona que les coloco la maldición y ellos después accionar un ritual importante. Brida también comanda un ejercito, ella es la esposa de Ragnar, por lo que tiene muchos hombres esperando por ella, vikingos que están a punto de atacar Wessex y Uhtred no sabe que bando tomar. El corazón de Uhtred parece que esta con el rey Alfredo, pero su personalidad sigue siendo vikinga y son momentos de mucha presión para este gran guerrero.

Alfredo en su reinado esta con poco tiempo, su vida cada vez empeora y en su momento la bruja Skade le comento cuanto tiempo de vida le quedaba, lo que agiliza todo para que no caiga su pueblo.

La guerra final de la temporada es muy épica, Alfredo esta a punto de fallecer, pero tiene que dejar su mandato a su hijo, un joven Eduardo que no tiene experiencia, muchos en Wessex sienten desconfianza, se crea gran drama y comienzan a liderar grupos para no permitir esa transición de la corona. Por supuesto Aethelwold es uno que están entre las sombras, haciendo cuestionar los pensamientos de las personas y cada movimiento del rey Alfredo tiene que ser bien pensado. Uhtred es un forajido, no tiene la libertad en el reino, pero Alfredo sabe que sin el, jamás podrá ganar la batalla y aparte necesita que su hijo tenga esa compañía del mejor guerrero.
Al final Alfredo se reúne con Uhtred, tienen una conversación sensacional, fácilmente de los mejores momentos de la serie y le otorga toda la confianza para que los lidere en la guerra contra los vikingos. Wessex tiene la desventaja, los vikingos son muchos mas hombres, pero el reinado del joven Eduardo cuenta con Uhtred, la leyenda del guerrero que no aparece en los libros, pero que esta en la memoria de todos los caballeros y que siempre estará presente como la pieza mas importante en cada victoria. La estrategia que idean es perfecta, llevan todo a un bosque donde los vikingos quedan atrapados y hay la ventaja numérica no es factor alguno.
Hubieron 3 batallas en esta temporada, cada una con gran calidad en cuanto a gráficos, las peleas son muy entretenidas, pero nada como la batalla final, aquí Uhtred se luce cobrando venganza, termina con la vida de un personaje muy molestoso, hombre que mato a un ser querido del joven Uhtred y además los vikingos terminan cediendo en batalla. Alfredo se gana el cariño del pueblo, ya puede ser aceptado a pesar de su edad y con la ayuda de Uhtred todas las personas se sienten totalmente protegidos. Esta temporada es brillante, pasan muchísimas cosas, cada capitulo es emocionante y la etapa final nos deja un desenlace grandioso para el gran protagonista Uhtred.

In the end Alfred meets Uhtred, they have a sensational conversation, easily one of the best moments of the series and gives him all the confidence to lead them in the war against the Vikings. Wessex has the disadvantage, the Vikings are many more men, but the reign of young Edward has Uhtred, the legend of the warrior who does not appear in the books, but is in the memory of all knights and will always be present as the most important piece in every victory. The strategy they devise is perfect, they take everything to a forest where the Vikings are trapped and the numerical advantage is not a factor.
There were 3 battles in this season, each one with great quality in terms of graphics, the fights are very entertaining, but nothing like the final battle, here Uhtred shines taking revenge, ending the life of a very annoying character, a man who killed a loved one of the young Uhtred and also the Vikings end up giving in battle. Alfredo wins the affection of the people, he can be accepted in spite of his age and with Uhtred's help all the people feel totally protected. This season is brilliant, many things happen, each chapter is exciting and the final stage leaves us a great denouement for the great protagonist Uhtred.
