[IndieWire[(https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/luke-perry-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-love-interest-1202048762/) Let's get to the facts. We have Kristy Swanson in the lead here, who, supported by her charisma and beauty, became very captivating on screen. There is no denying how much she shines in her scenes (even though her acting is not really good). Alongside her, we have Donald Sutherland playing her mysterious “trainer”, as well as Rutger Hauer bringing a fun and “masochistic” villain to life. David Arquette, Hillary Swank and Ben Affleck are also here, only at the beginning of their careers. Technically, this project is a well-intentioned mess. The conflicts between good and evil unfold through poorly choreographed action scenes, with practical effects of highly questionable quality. The editing and scene work is confusing, but the set design evokes a 90s theme where young people are the highlight of the events. What is actually bad becomes ironically fun because of the project's charismatic magnitude itself, which easily carries it.
