I think thrill is what this movie represents, idea is not new though.
Always love your style of writing 👏
I watched it some days back, glad that I found the time, and I liked it. I even made a review about it here in scrobble. Gal Gadot did great in this movie. I always assumed she'd have some planned ready at the end.
I still have to watch it, though I'm not exactly thrilled about it. I'll put it on hold for a while.
It's very true, everything has to fit together for it to be a success, especially in film.
@wiseagent Greetings, my dear friend. Your review of that film is extraordinary and very thorough. It reminds me of a film with a similar plot, but in that one, a kidnapper calls a mother over the phone to torment her about her son's abduction, and the entire story unfolds between the phone and the woman... Warm regards.
This movie feels like a female version of Crank starring Jason Statham. The concept seems absurd. Not believable or realistic. It would be the type of movie I would have to watch just for vibes and not actually think about. Lol

When the script has systematic holes, the entire narrative falls apart and leaves us with scenes that are implausible from every angle. I imagine they wanted to create a sense of dynamism with those camera movements, but, as you mention, it doesn’t produce the expected results. On the other hand, the “shadow villain” is a strategy I also don’t care for in films of this genre.
I agree with you that casting a famous actress in the lead role doesn’t guarantee a movie’s success.
