It's one of those series with which two things can happen: you either stay watching it or you let it go. It's as simple as that. In my case, it grabbed me from the first moment and I decided to watch it. It only has 2 seasons and they are not that long. I get bored with very long series. Still netflix doesn't announce third season, so, it only remains to wait.
I hope so, because I don't like to leave things unfinished.
The truth of the case is that in this series environmental themes and Norse mythology are combined to give life to the story of it. On the one hand, it alludes to the environmental damage caused by a large company, a leader in Norway's industrial sector, to the environment and which has caused problems for the people of the town.
On the other hand, simultaneously, we see the emergence of a new God who comes to fight evil, in this case the owners of the company. Thus, with each chapter, we discover who are the bad guys of the series and who are the good guys, being the eternal dilemma between good and evil the center of the series. Likewise, it is possible to notice themes such as love, sexuality, the search for identity, friendship, etc., as well as the mythological part of the series, which was the main theme of the series.
That mythological part was the one I liked.
It all starts when the Seier family arrives in the town of Edda, because Turid, Magne and Laurits' mother, got a new job.

When they arrive, they meet an old man who has problems with his scooter and Magne, the main character of the story, gets off to help him. At that moment, a lady welcomes the boy. She passes her hand over his forehead and something magical happens. Magne, who is not very gifted, to tell the truth, looks at her and goes back to the car with his mother.

From there, several important things happen for the plot. He arrives at school and meets Isolde, an activist and unpopular girl who becomes his best friend. Soon they embark on a great adventure, but by a twist of fate, the girl loses her life and Magne begins to search for clues to find out what really happened. During this search, Magne discovers his powers and meets other people who will help him on his way.

He is the protagonist of the series. For the first season he is 17 years old. He is dyslexic and has always been a bit temperamental, which makes it difficult for him to get through school and life. He is bigger than the others and has physical qualities that set him apart from the others. He seems to me to be a bit slow and has trouble understanding some things. Also his acting is, at times, inexpressive. Remember Silvester Stalonne? Well, he reminds me of him. However, later you understand that he is a teenager and you begin to love the character.
Isolde:

She is Magne's friend. Activist. Environmentalist. Stubborn. She will not rest until she gets to the truth, because she is convinced that the premature deaths of some inhabitants of Edda are due to the consumption of contaminated water as a result of the mismanagement of the Jutul Company.
Laurits:

he is Magne's brother, although it is later discovered that he is actually his half-brother. This character shines with his own light. He is charming, sarcastic and very eccentric. But, he has bad sense to get involved romantically and always ends up being rejected. With the development of the series, he becomes quite important in it.
Turid:

She is the mother of Magne and Laurits. She does not understand what is happening with her children. She thinks it is due to puberty and the hormonal changes of age. She keeps a secret about Lautirt which makes for an interesting twist to the story.
Gry:

She is the sweet and kind girl that everyone wants to be friends with. Magne falls in love with her, but, you know how it is with love, she falls in love with someone else: Fjor, who becomes Magne's mortal enemy.
Vidar:

he is the owner of the great business emporium Jutul. He is arrogant, arrogant and corrupt. This is the leader of the Giants, ancient gods who were displaced by Thor long ago and, although he enjoys human pleasures, he has no respect or love for them. he is convinced that humans should pay them honor and tribute.
Ran:

Is Vidar's wife (or, at least, so it seems). She is elegant. Always impeccable and well dressed. She is the headmistress of Edda's school and is pleasant to all the men in the series. She is also a Giant. She tries to be part of the community by sharing with all of them in their meetings and activities.
Fjor:

Son of the giants. Quite popular with the girls. He falls in love with Gry and, for a moment, tries to live as a human after a strong argument with Vidar, but then a couple of things come up that lead him to leave her and take care of Magne.
Saxa:
Daughter of the giants. Beautiful, progressive. She does what she wants and is willing to defend her lineage at any cost. She does not get carried away by emotions. She intends to take the reins of the company, but her brother Fjor crosses her path.
This is not a bad series. It could be better if it would improve the interpretation of some characters, but it is quite interesting for someone who likes the inexhaustible struggle between good and evil, fantasy and war between gods, giants, dwarves, ancient weapons. It has only two seasons each of six chapters.
I confess that, at times, the series falls a bit flat, but something always comes up that captures the attention. As I always say, between tastes and colors, mine are not the best, but I did have a very pleasant time watching this series.
