Leonardo Di Caprio began his artistic activity before the age of 10,making commercials and television series.

The scenes of the protagonists have a very particular charm and spark. A chemical magic that many say Di Caprio could not replicate in any other film.
Although from then on their interpretations became more complex and more famous, the freshness and emotionality that these young protagonists have has no comparison.
I really recommend you to appreciate those moments when you see the film, because they are unrepeatable.

Se desarrolla en Miami de los 90, donde dos familias mafiosas están enfrentadas y estos dos jóvenes se cruzan para dar cabida al conocido y trágico relato.
Esta película es dirigía por Baz Luhrmann (nacido en Australia) El mismo director de Moulin Rouge y El Gran Gatsby.
Un cineasta que se caracteriza por involucrarse en casi todos los aspectos de la realización de sus filmes y que cuenta con interesantes premiaciones y múltiples nominaciones (incluyendo la nominación al Oscar de mejor película con Moulin Rouge, que no ganó) siendo muy bien considerado a nivel internacional y que sus películas han sido grandes exitos de taquilla.
Las escenas de los protagonistas tienen un encanto y chispa muy particular. Una mágica química que muchos dicen que Di Caprio no pudo replicar en ninguna otra película.
Aún cuando de allí en adelante sus interpretaciones se hicieron más complejas y más famosas, la frescura y emocionalidad que tienen estos jóvenes protagonistas no tiene comparación.
Realmente, les recomiendo apreciar esos momentos cuando vean la película, porque son irrepetibles.
Algunas reseñas periodísticas que hablan de esta parejita, dicen que tenían una química personal muy fuerte y que la reprimieron en su trato fuera del set, y que por eso el encanto que hay entre ellos traspasa el lente de la cámara.
Pero esta versión del siglo XX de Romeo y Julieta, por estar bastante apegada a la historia original, presenta escenas de lucha entre Montescos y Capuletos dignas de apreciar.
Una escena memorable es la de la muerte de el personaje Mercurio. Interpretado por Harold Perrineau Jr. donde la lucha mezcla armas de fuego y violencia primitiva, con una descarnada intensidad que desenlaza en una muerte impregnada de reflexión y dolor.

El sello un tanto punk que puso el director en esta obra fue recocido por la BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) con el premio al mejor director.
También BAFTA le otorgó el premio a mejor música.
Y no es menos interesante la historia del tema central de la película #1Crush de la agrupación Garbage, que comenzaba su trayectoria por aquellos años.

Una canción escrita con la intensión de narrar la intensidad, dolor y hasta obsesión que puede producir un amor intenso y no muy bien manejado.
Una canción de Rock con toques góticos que terminó siendo perfecta para esta película.
Ni siquiera el propio productor musical de la banda Garbage le prestó toda la atención que merecía, tanto así, que es una canción a la que nunca se le hizo un video oficial, pero que alcanzó puestos importantes en todas las listas de reproducción de su época, obtuvo premios e importantes nominaciones y hoy en día está considerado uno de los éxitos de todos los tiempos de la banda.

La trama es por todos conocida, lo interesante de esta película es su propuesta general y las actuaciones intensas que producen esa sensación de tener un nudo en el estómago.
