The story is an adaptation of the novel "Nine Perfect Strangers" written in 2018 by Liane Moriarty, this story takes us to a spiritual healing resort in the middle of nowhere; in this resort we will see 9 participants who entered by their own will to heal wounds from the past and present that are harming their day to day, what these 9 participants do not know is that Tranquillum is a resort with many secrets and its workers are not what they appear to be.

The plot of the series is confusing, it has many twists that at first leave you confused until a moment comes where you will understand everything at once, personally this point was not uncomfortable or overwhelming, I liked it because each chapter leaves you with an intrigue that makes you want to see the next one and that's why I finished the series the same day.

I loved that they focused on the stories of the 9 people who come to Tranquillum and that they also showed a little of the history of some of the workers. I feel that this gives the touch of interest needed to stay watching the 8 chapters, the story that most affected me was that of the Marconi family, their story was the strongest of the whole series, leaving aside the story of the main character.

I think there comes a point where the plot is a roller coaster of emotions and becomes a little heavy, but it manages to stabilize due to the strange twists they have. The series is a little crazy, but they make it work and ends up liking all that tangle of stories, past and present, An important point is that the end is closed, but at the same time leaves the possibility that there is in the future a second season, it is that kind of ending that really gives closure, but leaves the feeling that there is more to show.

All the characters are very good, except Yao who is played by Manny Jacinto, was the character that I liked the least and it was not the actor because Manny did very well, it is the character as such with whom I could not connect at all and I despaired every time I saw him, I saw him very fake and I feel that they did not show his true face, I think there was much more in him and if they take a second season I hope they delve a little deeper into Yao.

Apart from Yao, I loved all the characters in the series and I have to highlight the performance of Regina Hall as Carmel Schneider, this character is crazy and Regina conveys everything that Carmel feels; What a great performance by Regina and what a great character Carmel is. Melissa and Nicole did amazing as always, however, I really missed Melissa's comedy, in this series she is a very serious character, but at times you could feel that Aura of Comedy that surrounds this actress. The rest of the characters stand out with their own light in this series, each one of them do a wonderful job and transmit you every emotion that their characters are feeling, you manage to connect with each one of them as the chapters go by and you can feel the connection they have as actors and actresses.

Nine Perfect Strangers is a super confusing series that makes sense as the episodes go by, it is one of those series that you know you will like because of its cast, but you end up watching because of the mysteries and secrets surrounding the plot, it is not the best series I have seen during 2021, but the drama it has entertains quite a bit and I would watch it again just to see Nicole and Melissa together again. My final score is give.
