Morning all

I really have now begun to distrust Crunchyroll and their terrible recommendations!

I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh GX tonight and wanted something else to watch. I came across the series, More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers. This was a 'more like this' choice, which I assumed meant it was a similar story line to Yu-Gi-Oh. It really isn't, don't ever trust Crunchyroll and their recommendations.

Onto the series, which is about a High School project for third years who have to do a practical project. This involves students having to live together as husband and wife. They have to pass this test to graduate. The top 10 couples on the ranking charts, get to swap partners to one's of their choices.

It seems a messed up thing for a school to do to the students, and way to pervy. The series is full on Ecchi moments and fan service. I'm worried Crunchyroll think I only watch Ecchi stuff now! The main guy Jirou Yakuin wants to get matched with the girl he loves, his childhood friend and class mate Shiori Sakurazaka. Instead he get's matched with Akari Watanabe who's crush gets matched with Shiori.

With this Jirou and Akari vow to help each other to get enough points so that they can both get their chosen partner. As the series progresses the groups start to grow closer and feelings start to blossom and more Ecchi stuff happens!

The art style is very bright, which I noticed in the first episode. It is not something I am used to seeing in Anime, but after a couple of episodes I have gotten used to it. Actually finished the series while writing this and I would recommend it if you like a Rom Com style anime. A good soundtrack as well throughout which adds to some of the scenes and really fit them well.

The series has 12 episodes, with a runtime around 24 minutes each episode. The series originally aired in the Fall of 2022.

It does end on a potential for another series so I look forward to the future for this series.

Loved this anime, is a bit old, but it got very emotional a the end. I loved the details to the minor things that relationships have and feelings get mixed with the Japanese ideosincracity. I also like the internal struggles of the MC and how they react in different ways to situations throughout the episodes.

BTW if you want a similar recomendation to this anime show, I will think of the following:

    • Rent-a-Girlfriend aka Kanojo Okarishimasu
    • Kanojo no Kanojo
    • Kakkou no Linazuke and currently airing...
    • Gimai Seikatsu

some are more ecchi than others, others are mor drama than comedy and others are just a bit slower.

At first glance it doesn't seem to be Ecchi haha but I think Cruncyroll played a trick on you or maybe it's spying on you (ok no 😂)

The colors are really very bright, the plot is somewhat strange, that test is quite peculiar 👀

Maybe before, you watched some romcoms that's why it was recommended to you, or probably have watched ecchi genre before haha no judgement there though

Actually nice anime, was also surprised by how bright it was but I also got used to it later on
