Pretty Woman to me is one of the best movies to come out of the '90s. As a romance junkie that I am, this movie gives me everything I desire from a love story.
Here's a breakdown of the plot:
Vivian is a street girl who doesn't fit into the life she has been subjected to. She stumbles upon a busy businessman named Edward who pays her to give him directions to his hotel.
Edward realized he loves her company. Pays for her services through the night and then prolongs the contract for the entire week. Their chemistry is intense.
The energy and depth of their romance can be felt from a mile away. And at the end of the week-long contract of soul clenching lovemaking and romance, Edward offers to set Vivian up with a home and a new life, but she refuses to be a kept woman to a billionaire and leaves his offer hanging.
Like all romance endings, Edward goes after and they, hopefully, they live happily ever after.
It's kind of cliche, but it's the heart of this woman that catches my attention.
Vivian is a woman who from the moment her clothes were changed from slutty to sophisticated, her entire approach towards life changed. She saw life for herself. She cared more about her pride than she did about the choice of work.
I learnt from her ability to go from a slouch to a lady. And how she carried her best character with her transformation.
