How excited were you when you heard this movie was in the works and how long is it going to take for you to see it?

Plot

The movie starts with a pretty confusing scene where Dr Steven Strange and A young girl are being chased by a monster. They almost get caught but this Dr Strange who has a cute ponytail tries to do something that's unlikely for the normal Dr Strange to do. However, he doesn't succeed.

Then, he gets stopped by the monster and then this girl takes them to a different location, a different universe. In the process, this Dr Strange gets killed. Our Dr Strange never gets killed so it's pretty obvious that he's not the one we know.

This girl, who turns out to be America Chavez, can jump through the multiverse. So she finds herself on well, the earth we know and is saved by Dr Strange we know and that's when she explains how she's being chased by different monsters who want to steal her power.

Strange, in a bid to help, consults Wonda Maximoff, who had gotten hold of the Darkhold and become the Scarlet Witch. However, turns out she's the monster who's been chasing America through the different multiverses and now that she's aware that America is within her reach, she comes for her.

Strange tries to fight her off with the help of the entire Kamar-Taj but she destroys it and kills almost everyone. This leaves America at the mercy of Dr Stramge. Just before Wonda gets hold of her, she transports herself and Strange through many universes and ends up on a universe called earth 838.

They don't get any help from this earth because they had a bad experience with their Dr Strange after he gained possession of the Darkhold and let a lot of tragedy strike. it got so bad that they had to kill him.

Eventually, they get hold of the Darkhold but unfortunately, Wonda succeeds in capturing America and destroys the book of Vishanti which is the antithesis of the Darkhold. She then sends Strange to another multiverse that had been destroyed after it clashed with another universe.

This seems like a dead-end, but like other Marvel movies, it has a cheesy happy ending.

My thoughts

I'm not a huge fan of the whole Multiverse madness. I hated Spiderman: No way home because of the inclusion of the Multiverse talk. Yes, I know they got it from the animation Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse but bringing these villains from the other movies into that one movie wasn't so smart for me.

I enjoyed this Dr Strange movie. However, it seems like Marvel is trying to correct some mistakes and give retribution to their villains rather than kill them or get them arrested.

I think it made no sense that after all the fighting and raising dead bodies in this movie, the villain just killed herself. I mean they had already told her what would happen from the beginning but she kept on fighting the inevitable until it just happened.

I hate how mentally weak they made her out to be. It's like she was just moving mad. The ending was very silly to me. I needed more violence and a proper fight.

I understand that she's the Scarlet Witch but we deserved a little more action and a little more display of her powers. The America girl was also pretty strong but her inability to control her powers kept holding her back.

I think it's funny how in movies this person who can't control their powers receives one emotional talk and then they find their power within and control it because that's the cliche thing to do at that very point. It gets tiring.

My rating and expectation

Overall, I would rate this movie a 6/10. Marvel is either losing its touch or I'm getting too old for this.

I didn't expect to see as much blood as I did but I guess they have to grow with the crowd.

I can't really say what I was expecting coz I'm really not a fan of the multiverse talk. However, I'll try to reduce my expectations for the upcoming Marvel movies so I don't get as disappointed as I got with the last 3 I saw.
