Black Adam is the story of an ancient hero bestowed with the power of Shazam and the mission of reviving the people of Khandaq from the activities of their dictator. He performed his duty up until he was made to disappear.
After thousands of years, he is awakened by a woman in distress and the stories around his initial disappearance are revealed with a series of fights against good and evil. Turned out that the stories they had been told for centuries about him were nothing close to what he indeed was.
My review
I thought the movie started off poorly. I guess you could say they just wanted to utilise their time adequately by making his return as swift as possible so that they could fully incorporate their many fight scenes but it was way too basic.
Anyone could have easily done what the lady did and made his return so there wasn't a lot of glamour there for me. It could have been better. But a lot of people liked it so I guess it was okay.
The humour was great, however, I found the whole love of a random child and remembering a catchphrase the child taught you at the end of a fight was too cliche. I guess they incorporated all that to keep it clean and relatable to kids but it was unlike DC.
I also found a lot of resemblance between the movie and Marvel Phase 3 movies. I liked it but it just seemed like something I'd seen before and I know what to expect. Yes, the twists in the history about his power were unexpected but in the grand scheme of the movie, they were irrelevant.
Finally, the villain was unimpressive. His mission for thousands o years was not as interesting as I would have hoped and with all the fight he put up his death was way too straightforward. I expected a bit more struggle but as I said, there was probably not enough time to put in all that as it was a movie.
My rating
The movie is currently making waves in several countries with cinema halls filled up days after it was first released. I hear they've made more money than a bunch of other blockbusters that came out this year.
I'm not one to burst a bubble but I think the hype was way too much, however, it's a great movie. I would rate it a 7/10 coz I've seen better and I expected more.

SPANISH Black Adam es la historia de un antiguo héroe dotado del poder de Shazam y con la misión de resucitar al pueblo de Khandaq de las actividades de su dictador. Cumplió con su deber hasta que se le hizo desaparecer.
Tras miles de años, es despertado por una mujer en apuros y se revelan las historias en torno a su desaparición inicial con una serie de luchas contra el bien y el mal. Resulta que las historias que les habían contado durante siglos sobre él no se acercaban a lo que realmente era.
Mi crítica
Me pareció que la película empezaba mal. Supongo que se podría decir que querían aprovechar el tiempo adecuadamente haciendo que su regreso fuera lo más rápido posible para poder incorporar plenamente sus numerosas escenas de lucha, pero fue demasiado básico.
Cualquiera podría haber hecho fácilmente lo que hizo la señora y hacer su regreso, así que para mí no hubo mucho glamour. Podría haber sido mejor. Pero a mucha gente le gustó así que supongo que estuvo bien.
El humor era genial, sin embargo, encontré todo el amor de un niño al azar y recordar una frase pegajosa que el niño le enseñó al final de una pelea era demasiado cliché. Supongo que incorporaron todo eso para mantenerlo limpio y relacionarlo con los niños, pero no era como en DC.
También encontré mucho parecido entre la película y las películas de la Fase 3 de Marvel. Me gustó pero me pareció algo que ya había visto antes y sé qué esperar. Sí, los giros en la historia sobre su poder fueron inesperados pero en el gran esquema de la película, fueron irrelevantes.
Por último, el villano era poco impresionante. Su misión durante miles de años no fue tan interesante como hubiera esperado y con toda la lucha que dio su muerte fue demasiado directa. Esperaba un poco más de lucha pero como dije, probablemente no había suficiente tiempo para meter todo eso al ser una película.
Mi valoración
La película está haciendo furor en varios países con las salas de cine llenas días después de su estreno. He oído que han hecho más dinero que un montón de otros éxitos de taquilla que salieron este año.
No soy nadie para reventar una burbuja, pero creo que el hype fue demasiado, sin embargo, es una gran película. La calificaría con un 7/10 porque he visto mejores y esperaba más.
