Love Hard (2021) Movie Rewiev

Review by @young-boss-karin · 1529d · of Love Hard

I'm pretty late to the party, I know. I saw the trailer of this movie the moment it came out on Netflix but I forgot to add it to the list and then after a lot of movie watching, it got lost I'm the array of movies.

Lucky me, I was in a major chick flick mood a couple of days ago so Netflix did the needful and brought back some movies I hadn't seen yet. Lucky me, right? Well, I finally got to see it.

Plot

Love Hard is a typical chick flick. It's about a lady called Natalie who made a career for herself out of her terrible and extremely funny love life and experience with dating apps. She was a writer who had a column for herself where she wrote about the men she went on dates with and how bad her experiences were.

Her friend decided to take things up a notch and widen her scope to the whole of America because she felt like she was limiting her options. A while after she did that, Natalie got a few new matches and that's when she got to meet Josh. He had a handsome picture and a beautiful smile.

His personality was all she wanted and they talked for hours until one day, Josh suggests that he would love to spend Christmas with her. It's an odd request but her friend and boss encourage her to travel miles to meet her mystery man.

Josh doesn't turn out to be what she imagined and she doesn't hide it from him. Unfortunately, she gets to see the real Josh who turned out to be an old friend of the person she had been in contact with, his real name is Tag.

Natalie and Josh eventually have an agreement that if Natalie can spend some time with him and let his family think they're in an actual relationship, Josh would help her become the kind of girl that Tag would love.

Best believe, all hell went loose and things didn't turn out as planned.

My opinion and expectation

I always know what to expect when I watch these sorts of movies so I have no new expectations. I expected to hate, love, hate and then the final epic love scene at the end. Although the epic love scene at the end wasn't so epic, I didn't expect it to end any other way.

I watch movies like these and all I expect is a happy ending. I wasn't shocked by any scene, however, I thought a lot of scenes were funny as hell like when she got stoned just to go on that ice trail or whatever. It totally seemed like something I would do.

My Rating

I would give this a 5/10 because the fact that I love cheesy romance doesn't mean you must give me exactly what I expect. I like some challenges and a few surprises here and there.
