I know this is still pretty new but I don't think there are any spoilers I can give that you don't already know about. The good guys won and the bad guy got sent to jail. Towards the end, as always, they made it pretty obvious that there will be a sequel.
I'm not much of a DC Comics fan so I had no idea there was even a new Batman movie until a few days ago when someone offered to take me to see it. It was 3 hours long and well, it was Batman.
Batman/Brice Wayne was played by Robert Pattinson. He brought the Twilight charm but I didn't get charmed enough. He doesn't have the Ben Affleck sexiness that the other Batman was known for so when he got his gear on, to me, he just looked like a man wearing too much padding.
I guess my major problem with DC Comics has always been their refusal to give proper sex appeal, humour and how gory and dark their movies always are. It's like they can't have any action during the day and places like Gotham City didn't subscribe for sunlight.
Although in this movie, they gave us less PG 18 and more PG 16 level action. However, I think they kind of overdid it because I almost saw no blood. They lost track of the balance, to me.
Also, if you're going to see it at the cinema, take a flashlight because everything went on in the dark. I thought it was absurd but that's Gotham City, I guess. A city of darkness.
As for the villain and the storyline, I found it to be very typical. The villain this time was The Riddler. He was more of a social martyr than an evil person to me. Batman seemed more like a bad guy than the actual bad guy. How can you be so grumpy for so long?
I could keep going back and forth on why it was a dumb movie and what they did right or wrong but that won't stop you from seeing it if you want to.
The movie is 3 hours long. So, get your popcorn, a drink and some extra popcorn because 3 hours is a very long time.
