I started seeing this movie on the 5th of this month and stopped within the first 30 minutes. Hadn't had the time to complete it until today.
At first, when I started it, I thought it was one of those horror shark eating human movies, but now that I'm done, I'm glad I didn't write it off like I usually do. It was a great fairytale-like action movie like all Jason Statham movies.

The movie began with a confusing scene of people getting rescued by Jason, who played the role of Jonas Taylor, a rescue diver. He successfully extracts some people from one ship, but when he realizes that the impact from whatever hit them would kill everyone in both ships, he acts quickly and saves the ones he can, leaving the others to die.
He lives in regret for 5 years, until he is called back for another rescue mission. This time, his ex-wife and her crew get stuck in the same situation as the first case. He refuses at first, but when he realized it was her, he agreed to go on one last rescue mission.
Jason risks his life to save her crew, but loses one person who sacrificed himself to ensure the safety of everyone else. Jason feels let down again as he receives blame again for the death of the man.
Although everyone celebrated the victory, they mourned and decided to abandon the project until they realized that the monster causing them trouble is a 70 ft. shark called megalodon, and it had followed them onto the surface waters.
For their final mission, Jason and the available crew members decide to kill the meg before it causes more harm to the people on earth.
The entire movie held me spellbound and I had to skip some places coz I have a fickle heart that can only take so much suspense and anxiety.
I particularly enjoyed the fairytale action role always played my Jason Statham. I mean he single-handedly killed the shark in the end and was saved at the last minute when he was about to get eaten by a smaller shark. How crazy is that?
Overall, I would rate this movie a 2/5. I guess this below average rating is due to how exhausted I am with fairytale action movies. It was a great way to kill time for the morning though.
