Hello everyone, today I would like to share about a movie that has stayed in my heart for a long time. As a movie lover, I have always liked discovering new movies and enjoyed every bit of it, but I Am Sam (2001) is that one movie which made me stay emotionally connected for a long period. This movie reminds me of a special memory, I watched it five years ago and even though I have seen many movie after that, I still can't forget the emotions this movie made me feel. It is more than a movie to me because it reminds me of my father and makes me appreciate him even more.
I am very emotional about my father and when I watch movies related to father-daughter then I can't avoid watching it. The reason I liked this movie so much is that it shows how powerful a fathers love can be. In the movie Sam is someone with special needs and he is not like the normal people. He became a father and he was not the perfect father, he faces many difficult circumstances. What I liked the most that he never stops loving his daughter Lucy. I could feel the love he felt for his daughter and it made realize how precious it is to have a father. Sam always tries to give his daughter a happy life even when the whole world doubts him. While watching the movie, I couldn't stop my tears from falling because it was way too emotional.
This movie taught me that love is not about being perfect it's about trying to provide the best for your family for the people you love. That message touched my heart. Sam has changed the way I looked at my parents. Well, we never appreciate our parents for their efforts but Sam made me realize that how hard it is to be a parent yet nothing can stop them to care for their children. As I watched Sam take care of Lucy, I started thinking about my own father.
However, when I was a kid I never noticed the little things my father did for me. I thought he was doing what he was supposed to do for me, I was not that grateful as I thought it was just normal. Now that I am older, I understand that many of those things were sacrifices but he never told me about it. My father worked hard for me and he never let us notice what he was going through. He cared about our family and always tried to make sure I was happy. I know that parents rarely talk about their struggles because they do not want their children to worry. But if I knew about this earlier I would have tried to become a better child.
One memory came back to me while watching this movie. I remember one day I was feeling sad. I can't remember what was the reason but when I told my father, I didn't want to sleep so he sat beside me all night without any sleep. He stayed with me until I was feeling better. He did not require to say many words. Just knowing that he was there made me feel better. To be honest, such memories became even more meaningful after watching I Am Sam. It reminded me that sometimes love is shown through actions and not just words.
Another reason I love this movie is that it changed the way I look at people. I won't lie but I used to judge people by how smart they were. But Sam taught me that honesty, kindness and unconditional love are much more important than being smart. Even though Sam had limitations and he was a man with special needs yet he had one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen. That lesson has stayed with me ever since.
This movie also made me realize that we should never take our parents for granted. We should try to understand that no one is perfect and our parents are also a human being and they will always love us. After watching I Am Sam, I even felt like thanking my father for everything he has done for me, I realized how much I have wronged him and neglected the small things he did for me.
That is why I Am Sam is so special to me. It made me get closer to my father and now our bond is stronger than before. My father told me he never expected anything in return and it was the sweetest moment. Recently I have re-watched this movie with my father and we both loved it. I Am Sam has a touching story and it is a reminder of my father's love, sacrifices and the memories that I will always treasure. Every time I think about this movie, I also think about my father and that is why it will always have a special place in my heart. I would 100% recommend watching this movie with your family or loved ones. I am sure they would love it.
