Estefanía fue producida por RCTV y estrenada en 1979, con libreto original de Julio César Mármol (y participación de otros guionistas). La dirección estuvo a cargo de César Bolívar. Es considerada una telenovela histórica/política que marcó época en la televisión venezolana.
Fue la primera telenovela transmitida en color en Venezuela que logró un gran alcance y reconocimiento, especialmente por su contexto político y social.

Para los que vieron la serie los hermanos Meléndez y Jeffrey Dahmer debo decir que esta serie tiene un nivel de producción mucho más alto que estas dos en especial en si la comparamos con las manos Meléndez que no resultó ser muy buena del todo, ya que a diferencia estas otras historias que pudiéramos considerar que Jeffrey Dahmer era un monstruo en su totalidad, esta serie se toma la molestia de explicarte la historia de Ed Gein Ya que él era una persona bastante trastornada por sus problemas familiares con su madre y también por padecer de esquizofrenia, y todos estos puntos y la manera en que está contando la historia y las repercusiones que tuvo en la historia humana especialmente la parte del cine de la cultura pop son impresionantes.

Para los que ya sabían la historia de este asesino serial la verdad es que podrán encontrar una adaptación casi bastante fiel, con pequeños detalles para amenizar un poco más la dramatización y que las escenas fluyan de mejor manera pero debo decir que de las tres series que han salido de esta antología de monstruos esta es la mejor sin duda alguna, en especial Porque no solo te aborda la historia de él sino te empiezan a abordar la historia de varios asesinos porque él tuvo una repercusión sumamente importante en en el imaginario común del cine y al mismo tiempo en lo que fue la historia de todos estos asesinos seriales que empezaron a surgir en Estados Unidos.

Esta serie comienza con una pareja que aparentemente están teniendo problemas en su matrimonio, conocemos a Alma que va a pasar el fin de semana con su amiga Brenda, está pasando por un divorcio y una separación, por lo que alma va a brindarle su su apoyo emocional.
Al llegar a su casa estas amigas con unos tragos comienzan a hablar sobre el problema del matrimonio de Alma, está sospechando que su esposo le es infiel con su secretaria. Ya por la noche para distraerse salen juntas a una fiesta donde cada una conoce a un chico distinto, Brenda se va con su conocido mientras que alma se queda en la fiesta bailando con Darío, después de un instante casi se besan, pero Alma se detiene y se marcha, Darío la persigue brindándose a llevarla hasta su casa, en este caso la casa que se dirige es la de Brenda.
Llegan en total desesperación de caricias y deseos, haciendo el amor en muchas partes de la casa.
Al terminar Alma con una sensación de culpa y traición despide a Darío diciéndole que no debería haber pasado, que solo fue sexo. Este se marcha dejando su cinturón en la casa.
En la mañana regresa su amiga Brenda y después de contarse todo lo sucedido, Alma queriendo dejar todo lo vivido ahí, regresa para su casa donde se encuentra con su esposo y su cuñado.
Alma es abogada, imparte seminarios sobre el abuso que existe sobre la mujer. Cuando estaba en plena clase se presenta ante ella Darío como un alumno mas. Esta se pone nerviosa aunque continúa su explicación.
Al terminar la clase de inmediato llama a Brenda para contarle lo sucedido, pero no es atendida y el mensaje se guarda en el teléfono.
Al esposo de Alma le llaman para avisar que Brenda está muerta, que fue encontrada en su casa en la tina, al parecer se quitó la vida.
Y hasta aquí este resumen del primer capítulo, la serie tiene dos temporadas, la primera consta de 18 capítulos. Es ahora que comienza a desatarse una serie de investigaciones para llegar hasta la verdad de la muerte, será un suicidio o un asesinato. Estás son varias preguntas que se irán haciendo a medida que pasen los capítulos. Una frase que está presente es que nada es lo que parece. Además de que Darío se convierte de una aventura a ser una relación tóxica, atormentado a Alma y transformando en su totalidad su vida y la de su familia.

There’s a very old conflict between these two. So, what happens in the end, you’ll have to see in the movie. I won’t say much because it will fall into spoiler territory, and it will ruin your fun. If I say even a little, the story might get spoiled. That’s why I won’t tell you.
The main point is, how is the movie overall? How is the movie’s story? How are the movie’s VFX and CGI? How is the movie’s action? Because if you’ve seen the first part of Kantara, at the end when Deva made an entry, we got to see some absolutely stunning action scenes. We saw some fantastic things. So, do we get to see something like that in this one or not? Let’s talk about all of it.
First, let’s talk about the positives.
Positive Aspects
The cinematography of this movie, I liked it as much in the trailer, and I had said back then too, the cinematography is stunning, and in the movie, as it is, you get to see equally stunning cinematography. Every scene is soothing to the eyes. When the jungle scenes come, oh, it’s a joy to watch them. Along with that, the way the kingdom has been designed, the way the market has been designed, the way the port has been designed, all of it looks very good to watch.
A question came to my mind, why didn’t they show it even grander? Maybe the reason could be that the kingdom they’re fighting against isn’t that big. From costume design to every single thing, it looks absolutely perfect.

When the emotions of the movie come to the forefront, and when grand things come up in the movie, we just fold our hands and say, oh brother, what have they shown. Lo primero es que estamos ante una película de casi 3 horas en donde por ser la última hacen una exploración de lo que han sido algunas de las misiones más reconocidas de Ethan, hacen un esfuerzo para conectar cosas del pasado con este nuevo presente; detalle que se aprecia y que en lo personal me pareció muy cool. De hecho traen al protagonista detrás de quizás la escena más mítica de toda la franquicia de Misión Imposible y le dan un rol un poco protagónico. Conectar con la nostalgia es importante.

First of all, we're looking at a nearly three-hour film where, as it's the last, they explore some of Ethan's most recognizable missions, making an effort to connect things from the past with this new present; a detail that's appreciated and that I personally found very cool. In fact, they bring the protagonist back from perhaps the most iconic scene in the entire Mission: Impossible franchise and give him a somewhat starring role. Connecting with nostalgia is important.
El nivel de producción es bestial, como siempre viene siéndolo. Estos films no escatiman en hacer las cosas en grandes. Las escenas de acción están bien logradas, los exteriores en donde suceden cosas a gran escala también se ven muy bien, todo el camino de Hunt en las profundidades del mar fueron de las cosas más top y realistas que se vieron y ni hablar de las escenas finales en los aviones. A simple vista se ve que hay un nivel el cual es imposible de notar. A todo esto hay que sumarle las peleas y combates, es verdad que no hay tantas pero las que hay se disfrutan. Paris (Pom Klementieff) y el propio Tom despliegan mucha habilidad y destreza que hace que todo sea mucho más vistoso.
The production level is astounding as ever. These films don't skimp on the big picture. The action scenes are well done, the exteriors where large-scale events happen also look great. Hunt's entire journey through the depths of the sea was some of the most top-notch and realistic footage ever seen, not to mention the final scenes in the planes. At first glance, it's clear that there's a level of quality that's impossible to miss. Add to all this the fights and combats; it's true there aren't that many, but the ones that are there are enjoyable. Paris (Pom Klementieff) and Tom himself display a great deal of skill and dexterity that makes everything that much more visually appealing.
Más allá de la acción y todo lo visual la película toca dilemas morales referentes a todo lo que pueden llegar a hacer estas inteligencias artificiales, su uso, si es correcto o no, que tanto se puede confiar en ellas, el nivel de penetración en el día a día tanto personal como a niveles gubernamentales, y es que al final del día siempre la conclusión es la misma: pareciera que todas están destinadas a controlarlo todo, en algún momento llegará la revelación cuando se tornen autosuficientes y opten por tener una conciencia propia. Es cierto que estos temas son un poco clichés pero no dejan de ser algo que podría ocurrir perfectamente en nuestro mundo.
Beyond the action and all the visuals, the film touches on moral dilemmas regarding everything these artificial intelligences can do, their use, whether it's appropriate or not, how much we can trust them, the level of penetration in everyday life, both personal and at governmental levels. At the end of the day, the conclusion is always the same: it seems they are all destined to control everything, at some point the revelation will come when they become self-sufficient and choose to have a conscience of their own. It's true that these themes are a bit cliché, but they are still something that could perfectly occur in our world.
Los personajes estuvieron bien. Hayley Atwell como Grace, Paris, Luther, Benji, todos estos actores que dan vida a estas personas como siempre hicieron un gran trabajo, son secundarios pero le dan sentido y profundidad a la historia. El unico que me pareció terrible fue Gabriel (Esai Morales), con diferencia el peor villano de todas las sagas. Lleno de muchos clichés, líneas y diálogos sin sentidos, infantiles, no se ve mucho en pantalla para ser el malo del film pero las veces que sale no llena nada, hasta la actitud no es la de un verdadero villano, realmente lamentable. Habiendo dicho todo pues a este último film le doy un 8/10. Lo tiene todo a lo que la franquicia nos tenía acostumbrado además de que fue un buen cierre para el personaje. Muy recomendada. The characters were good. Hayley Atwell as Grace, Paris, Luther, Benji, all these actors who bring these people to life did a great job, as always. They are secondary, but they give meaning and depth to the story. The only one I found terrible was Gabriel (Esai Morales), by far the worst villain of all the sagas. Full of clichés, meaningless, childish lines and dialogue, he doesn't appear much on screen to be the film's villain, but the times he does appear, he doesn't fill anything; even his attitude isn't that of a true villain, truly lamentable. Having said all that, I give this latest film an 8/10. It has everything the franchise had us accustomed to, plus it was a good closure for the character. Highly recommended. Ryan Murphy returns with the third season of his anthology series about American serial killers, and this time it's the turn of a figure who had a huge impact in his day. Murphy is also back with his colleague Ian Brennan. In many previous posts, I have discussed Murphy's work, which always elicits mixed opinions from me due to its excessive narration. This series is no exception to those excesses, which sometimes work and sometimes don't. For example, the series Ratched is my least favorite of all the ones he has created.
With the series about Ed Gein, I knew I had to mentally prepare myself for the fact that it was Ryan Murphy's and be ready for his delusions. The trailer made a very good impression on me, although there is one scene in it that would have had a greater impact if it hadn't been shown. Something I did notice in the trailer is that they would play a lot with Gein's mental state and the things he imagined in his mind. I also think that was the way they came up with to make it more entertaining for the audience. Of course, they make up a lot of things in the series; it's not a faithful representation of the notes, chronicles, and archives about Gein, but I let it slide because they used the device of many of those things happening in Gein's mind.
I liked both Dhamer and the Melendez brothers' season. When I saw that Gein was the new story, I hoped they would tell the creepiest parts, and they didn't disappoint. I applaud them for having the courage to show many disturbing and disgusting parts, well, disgusting and repulsive to most of the audience, but in my case, those are the scenes I like to see. The scenes that shock others but satisfy me are like an elixir for my mind. No, I'm not a psychopath, I just know that what I'm watching is fiction, and I enjoy seeing the artistic way in which the darkest parts of our minds can be filmed.
There are eight episodes that make up this story, and I was afraid they would drag it out too long. To fill the minutes, at least they had several ideas that worked perfectly. El libro en el que se basó la película Psicosis, el personaje de Leatherface de La matanza de Texas, el asesino de El silencio de los corderos e incluso, en la parte final, hay una metareferencia a la serie Mindhunter. Estas son las más conocidas y las que aparecen en la serie, aunque hay otras películas inspiradas en Gein, pero son menos conocidas y aqui no fueron referenciadas.
For me, everything worked well on screen. Although seeing Gein with a chainsaw, when there is no official record of this, made me laugh, but it's something that adds dynamism and appeals to the audience. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of my favorite horror scenes, it's a masterpiece, so I really liked those scenes in parallel with Gein's story. The same goes for The Silence of the Lambs, although very little of it is shown here. It's another gem of the genre and one of my favorites. Obviously, Psycho too. I remember when I saw it for the first time, the bathtub scene with the haunting music had quite an impact on me.
The woke part couldn't be left out, and that really bothered me. It's the scene where the transgender character talks to Gein on the radio. The transsexual tells him that they are not alike at all, because transsexuals don't hurt anyone, on the contrary, they have always been oppressed, etc. Don't fuck with me with that shitty message! Pure transsexual propaganda. They paint themselves as good, when in reality there is a lot of violence within that community. I laughed at that scene, what a load of crap, but I understand that the creators are from the LGBTQ community and don't want their community to look bad, even though what they themselves have portrayed are murderers who are basically gay.
Now, I have to praise Charlie Hunnam's performance. Phänomenal! It's a role that will surely earn him a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination next year. This actor is excellent, although he's too handsome to be Ed Gein. He manages to make us believe in the character, he changed his voice, and I loved his performance. I found the scene in the first episode where he appears naked in front of his mother funny. The real Ed Gein would surely have wanted to have Charlie Hunnam's body, but girls and gay fans will love that scene. By the way, I understand the message that Murphy and his partner want to convey about how society glorifies these types of murderers because society is morbid and likes that, but in order to convey the message, they also end up glorifying the story of these evil beings.
I recommend this story. Despite its excesses, I really liked it and have already added it to my favorites of the year. Para mí, todo funcionó bien en la pantalla. Aunque ver a Gein con una motosierra, cuando no hay constancia oficial de ello, me hizo reír, pero es algo que le da dinamismo y agrada al público. La matanza de Texas es una de mis escenas de terror favoritas, es una obra maestra, así que me gustaron mucho esas escenas en paralelo con la historia de Gein. Lo mismo ocurre con El silencio de los corderos, aunque aquí se muestra muy poco, es otra joya del género y una de mis favoritas. Obviamente, Psicosis también. Recuerdo que cuando la vi por primera vez, la escena de la bañera con la música penetrante me impacto bastante.
No podía faltar la parte woke, y eso me molestó mucho. Es la escena en la que el personaje transgénero habla con Gein por la radio. El transexual le dice que no se parecen en nada, porque los transexuales no hacen daño a nadie, al contrario, siempre han sido oprimidos, etc. ¡No me jodas con ese mensaje de mierda! Pura propaganda transexual. Se pintan a sí mismos como buenos, cuando en realidad hay mucha violencia dentro de esa comunidad. Me reí de esa escena, qué mierda, pero entiendo que los creadores son de la comunidad LGBTQ y no quieren que su comunidad quede mal, aunque lo que ellos mismos han retratado son asesinos que son básicamente gays.
Ahora, tengo que elogiar la actuación de Charlie Hunnam. ¡Fenomenal! Es el papel que seguramente le valdrá una nominación a los Globos de Oro y a los Emmy el año que viene. Este actor es excelente, aunque es demasiado guapo para ser Ed Gein. Consigue hacernos creer en el personaje, cambió su voz y me encantó su actuación. Por cierto, entiendo el mensaje que Murphy y su socio quieren transmitir sobre cómo la sociedad glorifica a este tipo de asesinos porque la sociedad es morbosa y le gusta eso, pero para transmitir el mensaje, también terminan glorificando la historia de estos seres malvados.
Recomiendo esta historia. A pesar de sus excesos, me ha gustado mucho y ya la he añadido a mis favoritas del año. So the new Tron sequel is out, and it’s wild to realize how close the real world has drifted toward the kind of tech dystopia these movies warned us about decades ago. When the original Tron hit in 1982, the idea of people getting pulled into a computer system felt like pure fantasy. Fast forward to today — everyone’s basically living inside a digital system 24/7. Between social media algorithms, surveillance, and AI doing half the thinking for us, it’s starting to feel like we’re all already logged into the Grid.
What’s eerie is how what used to be “sci-fi cool” now just looks like a metaphor for daily life. Tron: Legacy gave us slick neon visuals and questions about what it means to be human inside a machine world. The new Tron sequel doubles down on that — but this time, the audience doesn’t have to stretch their imagination. Deepfakes, virtual influencers, and the whole “metaverse” mess make the movie’s digital frontier feel less like a fantasy and more like a reflection of our screens right now.
Back in the day, Tron was about escaping into the Grid. Today, it’s about trying to escape from it. We’ve got data tracking our every move, companies building digital versions of ourselves, and AI systems that can mimic our faces and voices better than we can. The movie’s premise — humans fusing with code, identities blurring — used to sound futuristic. Now it’s basically a tech company’s business plan.
What’s interesting about the new Tron movie is that it still manages to find some hope in all that neon chaos. It doesn’t treat technology as purely evil; it treats it as something that mirrors us — our ambition, our greed, our creativity, and our loneliness. In a weird way, dystopian sci-fi has lost its edge because reality caught up. Tron, Blade Runner, The Matrix — they all imagined futures full of glowing machines and digital gods. What we got instead are smartphones, smart homes, and a culture that’s permanently online. No need for lightcycles when the algorithm already dictates half your choices.
Still, there’s something refreshing about seeing Tron return right now. It’s not just nostalgia — it’s relevance. The film feels like a wake-up call dressed in blue light: we built the world those movies warned us about, but maybe we still have time to make it mean something better. Maybe the Grid isn’t where we’re trapped — maybe it’s where we finally learn who’s really in control.

However, I feel that the choice of actors and Mimi Cave's excellent direction made the movie ** Fresh** really resonate with the fears that a person might experience when they inevitably fall victim to the illusion of a first impression that was only used as a cover for something more macabre, something that might happen more often than we think in the real world. La trama se enfoca en la vida de una joven llamada Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) quien está constantemente en una aplicación de citas para encontrar a una persona que pueda ser ese alguien especial que desea como pareja. Luego de pasar mucho tiempo viendo perfiles de diferentes hombres, en una visita al supermercado conoce a un desconocido llamado Steve (Sebastian Stan) quien da una impresión de ser alguien interesante, divertido y es por eso que Noa decide continuar la conversación que tienen y luego intercambiar números para volverse a ver. Todo parece especial, casi se pudiera decir que Noa ha encontrado a su pareja soñada en medio del lugar más inesperado y que puede que vea un futuro a su lado, hasta que realmente se de cuenta de que Steve no está acercándose a ella solo por casualidad o por gusto, hay algo más macabro detrás de su apuesta personalidad y de su apariencia de ser inofensivo.
The plot focuses on the life of a young woman named Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) who is constantly on a dating app looking for someone special to be her partner. After spending a lot of time looking at profiles of different men, she meets a stranger named Steve (Sebastian Stan) at the supermarket who seems interesting and fun, so Noa decides to continue their conversation and exchange numbers to meet again. Everything seems special. You could almost say that Noa has found her dream partner in the most unexpected place and that she can see a future with him, until she realizes that Steve is not approaching her just by chance or for fun. There is something more sinister behind his charming personality and harmless appearance.
Está historia me recuerda que es muy normal hoy en día el buscar relaciones por medio de aplicaciones que facilitan el encontrar a una pareja que se ajuste a nuestros estándares, por supuesto no todos los casos que se ven dentro de las relaciones que salen de estas aplicaciones resultan mal, pero la mayoría de veces es así y en esta película se muestra abiertamente como una persona por ser inocente o demasiada confiada se deja llevar por solo lo que ve superficialmente de el otro, de lo que cuenta y su manera enigmática de mostrarse como una persona normal que desea encontrar a una persona para establecer una relación.
This story reminds me that it is very normal nowadays to look for relationships through apps that make it easier to find a partner who meets our standards. Of course, not all relationships that come out of these apps turn out badly, but most of the time they do, and this film openly shows how a person, because they are innocent or overly trusting, is swayed by only what they see superficially in the other person, what they say, and their enigmatic way of presenting themselves as a normal person who wants to find someone to establish a relationship with.
Las cosas se ponen turbias porque luego de que Noa decida salir con Steve, termina siendo secuestrada y se despierta en un lugar totalmente diferente, lleno de colores oscuros y de un vacío muy grande en dónde Noa está atada con unas esposas. Desde allí se veía que todo lo que vendría sería turbio, resulta que Steve está metido en un negocio donde personas con mucho dinero tienen ciertos gustos extraños hacia la comida que tienen que ver con el cuerpo de las mujeres y la idea de que ellas saben mejor que los hombres según lo que comenta Steve. Noa entra en pánico e intenta salir de ese lugar pero parece casi imposible, además de que se da cuenta de que no está sola dentro de esa casa, hay más mujeres secuestradas y siendo usadas por Steve y toda esa gente que decide de forma perversa consumir lo que venga de las mujeres.
Things get murky because after Noa decides to go out with Steve, she ends up being kidnapped and wakes up in a totally different place, full of dark colors and a huge void where Noa is tied up with handcuffs. From there, it was clear that everything that would come would be murky. It turns out that Steve is involved in a business where wealthy people have certain strange tastes in food that have to do with women's bodies and the idea that they taste better than men, according to Steve. Noa panics and tries to escape, but it seems almost impossible. She also realizes that she is not alone in that house; there are other women who have been kidnapped and are being used by Steve and all those people who perversely decide to consume whatever comes from women.
La tensión siempre está latente y en ocasiones parece que se puede encontrar la salida pero luego vuelve a empezar el ciclo de tortura física y psicológica, utilizando muy bien la manera en la que la mente de las mujeres pueden ser manipuladas a tal punto que terminan en ese horrible lugar. La casa como tal muestra la gran riqueza que ha conseguido Steve por parte de sus deseos prohibidos y de encontrar a otros que piensan y sienten como él, gente perversa que no tiene ningún tipo de remordimiento o preocupación más que el poder satisfacer sus oscuros deseos.
The tension is always latent, and sometimes it seems that a way out can be found, but then the cycle of physical and psychological torture begins again, making good use of the way in which women's minds can be manipulated to such an extent that they end up in that horrible place. The house itself shows the great wealth that Steve has acquired through his forbidden desires and by finding others who think and feel like him, perverse people who have no remorse or concern other than satisfying their dark desires.
La actuación de Daisy Edgar-Jones es sumamente buena, después de verla interpretar otros papeles más suaves y dónde se muestra como una joven inocente o indefensa, aquí la vemos luchando por su vida y también por la vida de las otras mujeres que se encuentran en ese lugar. Daisy Edgar-Jones' performance is extremely good. El tema más allá de ser sobre mujeres, es acerca de la perversión que existe en el mundo y dónde hay personas que están dispuestas a hacer lo que sea más si tienen dinero, para conseguir darse el gusto de probar cosas diferentes. En este caso el mundo culinario entra de lleno y se puede ver que existe una forma de ver a la mujer como algo que puede ser consumido más allá de una forma sexual, es el deseo de probarlas y de saborear cada pedazo de ellas que les es vendido, como si fueran simplemente carne y no seres humanos. Pero esto demuestra que muchas veces en el mundo existe el mal y la búsqueda de llenar sus deseos de la manera más brutal y horrorosa que puede existir.

Posiblemente es una de las películas que más me ha gustado de las que he visto este año y no por ser una película de terror y de cosas espantosas, sino por lo buena que fue en cuanto a la selección de actores, a la dirección precisa de Mimi Cave y su forma de tomar cada elemento, escena y detalle para hacer que se sintiera el verdadero temor al ver la película. Siento que es una película que puede ser perturbadora pero que también nos muestra el lado en el que el ser humano debe ser más cuidadoso con quien se relaciona, porque como Steve podemos conocer personas que nos muestran una forma de ser que es totalmente una máscara para cubrir el mal que llevan por dentro. Espero la puedan ver y si ya lo hicieron me cuenten que les pareció 😵💫.
It is possibly one of the films I have liked the most out of all the ones I have seen this year, not because it is a horror film full of scary things, but because of how good it was in terms of the selection of actors, Mimi Cave's precise direction, and her way of taking each element, scene, and detail to make you feel real fear when watching the film. I feel that it is a film that can be disturbing, but it also shows us the side where human beings must be more careful with whom they interact, because like Steve, we can meet people who show us a way of being that is totally a mask to cover the evil they carry inside. Desde que escuché sobre este drama estuve esperando su estreno con mucha emoción ya que me llamo mucho la atención esa premisa de un abogado con clientes fantasmas, lo que no sabía era que me iba a hacer reír y llorar en la misma medida, al principio fue un poco aburrido 🥱 porque el primer capítulo se enfoca en contarnos el como No Mu Jin pierde todo y tiene que comenzar de nuevo como abogado laboral, pero eso sí, lo hacen de una manera tan chistosa que es imposible aburrirte por completo. 🤣

Mmm, no, if we're being honest, Why lie! But does that make it bad?
No, not at all, in fact, it hooked me quite a bit, I was there thinking: "Hey, this Christmas thriller is powerful, a good early Christmas present!" So, what's the whole deal? Es como si agarraron "Duro de Matar" 1 y la 2, "Alerta Roja 2", las metieron en una licuadora y ¡pum!.. salió esto, tienes esa tensión de estar encerrado como en la primera, pero todo pasa en un aeropuerto lleno de gente en plena Nochebuena, a ver, ¿le llega a los talones a Bruce Willis salvando el Nakatomi Plaza? Mmm, no, si somos sinceros, ¡para qué mentir! ¿Pero eso la hace mala?
No, para nada, de hecho, me enganchó bastante, estaba ahí pensando: "Oye, este thriller navideño está potente, ¡un buen regalito adelantado de Navidad!".. entonces, ¿de qué va la vaina? La historia es sobre un oficial joven de la TSA, que lo hace Taron Egerton –sí, Eggsy de "Kingsman", ¡que a mí me encanta ese actor!–. Es Nochebuena, el aeropuerto, ¡imagínense!, un caos total, y nuestro prota, Ethan, que así se llama el personaje, está tratando de que se termine su turno de una vez por todas.. pero de repente, ¡ZAS! le cae una llamada y, de la nada, lo están chantajeando, unos tipos medio turbios tienen a su novia embarazada, que encima también trabaja en el aeropuerto, amenazada.. y le dicen, más o menos: "O dejas pasar este paquete súper misterioso en este vuelo, o tu chica y el bebé se mueren".. imagínense la presión, desde ahí, agarense, arranca el dilema: ¿se arriesga a que explote todo, tipo ataque terrorista, para salvar a la mujer que ama y a su bebé que ni nació? Un clásico, ¿no?
Y la peli le saca jugo a esa tensión, hablemos de Taron Egerton, para mí, lo hace bastante bien.. su personaje no es ningún Rambo, ¿eh? Es un tipo común y corriente, medio bajoneado quizás, que sueña con ser policía, pero está ahí, clavado con el uniforme de la TSA.. tiene su historia, su pasado medio complicado, y de repente le cae este problemón encima, le ves el pánico, la desesperación, pero también tiene esa chispa, ¿saben? Como que no se acobarda.. el tipo es un buen actor, tiene carisma y se desarrolla bien la presión de ser un tipo normal en una situación límite, uno lo apoya, ¡incluso cuando toma decisiones medio raras, y hay varias de esas!

I'm used to seeing him as a comedian, the ironic, lovable guy but with his things, or the stressed dad in Ozark, but here, wow, he's ANOTHER character.. he's a cold, calculating, extremely intelligent guy and he manipulates you in a way that gives you chills, a super different role from what he always does, and he does it incredibly, he's not the typical crazy person who screams and overacts, no. He has that quiet threat that makes your hair stand on end, seriously.. almost the entire movie is a voice in Ethan's ear, literally! The bad guy has him with an earpiece on, constantly telling him what to do, threatening him, messing with his head... that vibe, that back and forth between Egerton and Bateman, is the BEST part of the movie, the conversations they have, that mental chess game, it's great, it traps you in a bad way! Here it's even more difficult, because Bateman is THERE, stuck in his head. Mind you, it's not all tense conversations in safe rooms, the director, Jaume Collet-Serra –this guy has it VERY CLEAR with action thrillers, eh, he made "Non-Stop" to "Black Adam" and "Jungle Cruise"– puts in some action scenes that are brilliant!
It's more of a suspense thriller than a crazy action movie, but when the action comes, boom! It's well done, clear. There's a scene where Ethan gets into a fight, a real fight! On those tapes where the suitcases go, get it? The ones that go under the airport. It's really raw, a mess, and they fall through the bowels of the airport... then there's another one, a car chase with police on a highway that, ugh!, was great... the cameras, how they film inside and outside the car, the speed, the danger you feel... I liked it.
PERO ACÁ, s donde la cosa se puso BUENA, gente, Jason Bateman de villano! estoy acostumbrado a verlo de comediante, el tipo irónico, querible pero con sus cositas, o el papá todo estresado en Ozark, pero acá, wow, es OTRO personaje.. es un tipo frío, calculador, inteligentísimo y te manipula de una forma que te da escalofríos, un papel súper distinto a lo que hace siempre, y lo hace increíble, no es el típico loco que grita y sobreactúa, no. Tiene esa onda de amenaza calladita que te pone los pelos de punta, en serio.. casi toda la peli es una voz en el oído de Ethan, ¡literal! El malo lo tiene con un auricular puesto, todo el tiempo diciéndole qué hacer, amenazándolo, jugándole con la cabeza.. esa onda, ese ida y vuelta entre Egerton y Bateman, es de lo MEJOR de la peli, las charlas que tienen, ese ajedrez mental, ¡está buenísimo, te atrapa mal! acá es más difícil todavía, porque Bateman está AHÍ, metido en su cabeza. ojo, no todo es charla tensa en cuartitos de seguridad, el director, Jaume Collet-Serra –que este tipo la tiene CLARÍSIMA con los thrillers de acción, eh, hizo "Non-Stop" hasta "Black Adam" y "Jungle Cruise"– le mete unas escenas de acción que están ¡geniales!
Es más un thriller de suspenso que acción a lo loco, pero cuando llega la acción, ¡pum!, está bien hecha, clarita, hay una escena donde Ethan se agarra a golpes, ¡una pelea heavy!, en las cintas esas donde van las valijas, ¿ubican?, las que se meten por abajo del aeropuerto. Es bien cruda, un despelote, y se van cayendo por las tripas del aeropuerto.. después hay otra, una persecución de autos con policías en una autopista que, ¡uff!, estuvo genial.. las cámaras, cómo filman adentro y afuera del auto, la velocidad, el peligro que sentís... me gustó.

Por eso es que yo le he visto como unas tres o cuatro veces, a lo largo de mi vida, la compañía de Netflix le trató de hacer un live action, que no tuvo vida porque duró solo una temporada, y aunque tenía muchísimos errores, podía funcionar como una serie independiente, pero le tuvieron miedo al éxito y la cancelaron.

Then it talks more about the main differences. Obviamente, también tenemos un montón de detalles que cambian muchísimo la trama original, como el hecho de qué Sky, que es el interés amoroso de Bloom, en esta Reboot tiene novia y en la historia original, no, o sea hacen novios sin ningún problema, luego si tienes algún problema, pero eso es otra historia. También el hecho de que los especialistas y las hadas de un principio, como que no tienen tanta confianza, y en la serie original, sí, de hecho, todos son amigos, y después todo se vuelven parejas. Aparte de que Bloom tiene como un secreto que ella no conoce, de su verdadero origen, de sus verdaderos padres, y todo eso, en esta historia tratan de adelantar un poquito eso, y también le incluyen un hermano gemelo, que obviamente, eso nunca existió. No me parece descabellado, no me molesta. Creo que lo que he visto, por ahora, no me molestaba demasiado, me ha gustado bastante y siento que puede funcionar como una historia independiente. A mí me gusta muchísimo separar las cosas, no me gusta pensar en adaptaciones ni cambios que afectan al canon original, cuando son historias que ya están demasiado establecidas y que sabemos que nunca va a ser igual. En este caso, me divertí, sentí que no fue tan malo y la animación no se ve para nada infantil. Yo voy a esperar que estrene en la segunda parte, creo que son 26 capítulos en total y me lo voy a ver para darle mis opiniones finales. Obviously, we also have a ton of details that change the original plot a lot, like the fact that Sky, who is Bloom's love interest, has a girlfriend in this reboot, whereas in the original story, she doesn't. I mean, they get engaged without any problem. Later, you do have some issues, but that's a different story. Also, the fact that the specialists and the fairies don't seem to have that much confidence in each other at first, whereas in the original series, yes, in fact, they're all friends, and then they all become couples. Aside from Bloom having a kind of secret that she doesn't know about—her true origins, her real parents, and all that—in this story, they try to tease that out a little bit, and they also include a twin brother, who obviously never existed. I don't think it's crazy, it doesn't bother me. I think what I've seen, so far, hasn't bothered me too much. I quite liked it, and I feel like it could work as a standalone story. I really like separating things. I don't like thinking about adaptations or changes that affect the original canon when they're stories that are already so established and we know they'll never be the same. In this case, I had fun, I felt it wasn't that bad, and the animation doesn't look childish at all. I'm going to wait for the second part to premiere; I think there are 26 chapters in total.
